Oh thank god. It would be great if account I started could be accessed via steam, but I don't even care if I have to start from ground zero, mainly bidding time till NG anyhow, I can be free from the MS dumpster fire

It's cross-play and you will still be more than likely using Xbox Login

Per the discord I'm in, there's some authorization key that will be needed to link current PSO2NA account to steam, hopefully there'll be an official write up on it, so I'll refrain from nuking what I've had to download through MS store to redownload from steam until I get that set up. But I will be nuking those files, they've been nothing but a blight >_>

RE: So New Genesis will carry over very little from PSO2? What is the point in calling it an expansion if 90% of the content wont transfer over. You've effectively killed PSO2.

I'm definitely not going to be splitting time between them and will be rolling over in the new game when it drops. I do love open world, the graphics look clean, hoping they have a simplified UI system as the menu system in game can easily be streamline to have less windows to go through to do things and I would get the fresh start expected of a new release which was previously denied.

Provided that Sega and Microsoft can work together and fix the client to not nuke itself or re download itself to the point where I have to regularly go through system to prune out extra downloads chomping few hundred gb of storage, it's release could possibly be FFXIV lvl of redemption from the release it got over here.

It does make me put the current game into maintenance mode as there doesn't seem to be a point in finishing episode 3 going forward or lvling up all classes and farming gear to get into higher lvl content. Which I'm cool with, can do bare minimal needed to gather stargems and gather the occasional meseta to buy accessories or hairstyles that I might want to transfer over with me, NG seems like my jam so look forward to it 🙂

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

Edit: Answered my own question, my game is no where to be found, heyo ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

It was more of a principle thing for me. Something portrayed as a new release for the west and getting the brand new experience that goes along with it, not arbitrary being blocked from a game for two months. Ship 4 would have done fine if released within the first few days of game, but at the least, communication should have been more forthcoming concerning it and other issues.

I mean, with how vets are comparing the game to original version and the xbox community going on about how easy it is the catch up, it just seems like SEGA would have done better to just make an official, toggle-able english translation for Japan, removed the hoops to make it easier to sign up/download/play and just thrown everybody onto those servers. It would pretty much be the same thing as to what PC got with our western release and we would get actual patch notes and the like it seems

I mean, did they list what this maintenance actually fixed? It was chalked up to be the big thing that would resolve the major issues of PC release, can people actually download the game and not have it arbitrary delete itself the next day -or rely on 3rd party tool- or what?

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

@SonoVulpin Insulting? I just called your whining selfish, not much different then you calling Nevzat selfish and every other person who is interested in ship 4 selfish. Pot and kettle much?

But lets review, this is what you said:

@SonoVulpin said in Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.:

You act like just because there a fresh start server your going to get the cosmetic the other servers have. Why would the devs do that it would just make more work for them sure it sucks but getting a fresh start server not going to magically give you accuses to items you missed out on it will just stop you from seeing them on other players. An honestly you just sound selfish wanting a fresh start server at this point. You'd rather split the community along more servers so you don't have to be jealous of what others have? That not a good reason to open more servers at all IMO. If it was than with that logic they'd have to open a fresh start server every content patch to keep selfish players like you happy.

Lets see, you are trying to say the argument for fresh start is centered around cosmetics. You go on to say it's not a good reason to open more servers at all, because you are of the impression the desire is based on jealousy. You go on to claim that opening a server is just going to split community.

Lets review the post you were responding to:

@Nevzat said in Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.:

Yeah, the people who are literally unable to even grasp the concept why we would want a fresh server and only use " But this isn't a competitive game!!!!!!" as their argument truly worry me.

There are so many reasons for wanting a fresh server, for a start, the feeling of everyone being on equal footing, no higher level players around you, no items you cannot obtain, no established market, no items that have flooded the market, a different vibe in hubs (people actually moving around and doing stuff) rather than standing around in loli costumes.

Post in question, yes, there is a bit about items one can't obtain and such, so if this was all to the post you quoted, you might have had a point, but lets look at rest of the post.

@Nevzat said in Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.: These are just some of the reasons why I personally want a new server, this isn't about competition but it's about experiencing the game the same way the Japanese did at launch, and the same way the XBOX players did at launch..

For sega to have the inability to grasp this concept also is very disturbing. It is a big deal to me. I used to play Everquest, at launch.. it was exciting seeing overpowered looking weapons at a gradual pace, like a high level would walk past occasionally and you would be in awe of what they had... I want that same experience in PSO2 as I see people hitting higher levels, and their cool looking items etc to go and look at their gear, i don't want to zone into the game and see people fully equipped fron the onset.

It is all about the experience. I want to feel like i'm a founder on a new server, not just someone late to the party just as an extra number. I think it is also apparent the type of people that would be on Ship 4 if it launches, are a type of person I would rather be around also. So far, if anything, this community overall has been toxic and elitest, the Ship 4'ers are a better breed of human imho.

As you can see, the post isn't about items at all. It's about being allowed to experience the new game as a new game and not like someone who was denied entry for several months before being let in. Any other game that denied entry (usually regional, not many are crossed played) opened up a new server when they let that crowd of people in because they understood the experience of being able to enjoy a game like it was new.

As for my 'argument' I am just pointing out your concern of a 'splitting the community' is unfounded. Unless they open up transfers, people who have invested time on their current ship aren't likely to dump it and start anew, a new server is just going to have the people who were waiting and/or those who couldn't play because of launch issues.

Edit: Honestly, a better comparison would be if instead of a "Western release' they just made an english patch for Japan client official and made it easier for western players to play the Japan client -ie getting rid of the hoops involved-. And rather than making a new ship for them, they just let them into the ships that were already out and called that done for "Western release" There, everyone should be grateful they can now play the game.

That's essentially what they did to western PC players. They released 'new ships' for the xboxers for their xbox release, but when it came to PC release, there was no such consideration, just a, 'be grateful you can now play' from the xbox community, while at the same time, trying to lure pcers onto their own ship because apparently their community was dying and they were desperate for fresh players. That's the impression that's been given, at least to me

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

@SonoVulpin you read like part of a sentence that @Nevzat wrote and immediately made your soap box based around that one aspect. Most of their point was the experience of starting a new game fresh with other players who are also starting fresh. You know, typical experience of a mmo release.

And I'm not sure what community split you believe will happen. They already had to double or more the amount of blocks each ship has, the only people who would join ship 4 at this point are those who have been waiting, those who still can't play because of ongoing issues -provided they actually fix said issues- and whatever new people happen upon the game and overlook the ratings to give it a try. The community you have on your ship will pretty much be the same as no one who invested already in their character is going to start completely fresh. You're honestly whining just to whine because you feel like if another ship comes about it's some how going to detract from your game play :l

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

@DDDLife by issue they are referencing the game deleting itself and multitudes of issues related utilizing the MS store. Server 4 is not an issue, it is a desire. They've said nothing in reference to server 4 other than 'we passed your desire to the Devs' In the 11 days since that, the Devs could have easily given a definitive yes or definitive no in reference to a new server being brought online. Request ticket would be pointless, as it goes to the GMs, who have already said they have not been told anything. They could 'pass it' it to the Devs, but they already did so day of release when the mega thread on ship 4 was started. As you stated, the Dev's aren't going to respond. That is precisely the problem the entirety of ship 4 was about. I realize trying to lay it out to you is likely pointless as your misunderstanding seems to be intentional so that you can try and generate dissent as you've pretty much clearly stated the issue of 'Dev's not communicating' and then keep following up with 'why u mad brah?'

@Morgothryuzaki - Thing with the FFXIV comparison is that when I started FFXIV, I knew it had been playable for several years. Starting on a 'new server' was clearly not an option because I was two years late to the party. When I play a game that just release, I sort of expect to be able to start on a new server along side everyone else who is also playing at launch. PSO2 has been out in the East for 8 years, but it only 'released' for the west on PC a week and a half ago, it's to be expected that people would be disappointed that a new ship wasn't brought online when they were finally allowed to play. Now I just wait to see how bad they screw up with maintenance on the 10th before deciding what server to actually play on, still expect my game to be deleted when it tries to patch 😆

RE: Open Ship 4 or PC players will leave.

@SonoVulpin considering how many blocks they crammed into ships 1-3 during the release -they had like, what, 20 blocks for xbox or something?- I do believe having put up a 4th ship would not have split the player base to point of leaving people unable to party up and socialize. The only "splitting" that would have occurred would be that the new ship would have been comprised of mainly PC players and the few Xboxers who chose to reroll and start fresh.

Anyhow, the main point of the mega thread that was for Ship 4 was that rather than take several minutes in the past 10/11 days we've been waiting for news, to simply let us know if it was in the works, SEGA has chosen utter silence on the matter. A simple y/n a week ago would have let people know if they could use their one time use items or if they needed to save it for eventual ship 4, the other thread wouldn't have grown to 2.3k posts and at least for me, they wouldn't have a shitastic reputation.

As it stands, I'm still waiting to see what they do on the June 10th maintenance, to see if they follow up with anything to make up for the 14 days they had people waiting to implement fixes -when the fans find and implement a work around before companies worth a few hundred mil who are supposed to be managing the game, that's pretty sad- but I half expect for my game to delete itself as part of the update. Don't get me wrong, on June 10th if they manage to fix even half the issues currently plaguing the game I'll be happy, if ship 4 appears, I'll leap for joy, but I certainly don't expect any of those things to happen because SEGA hasn't show that they're particularly reliable company so far.

@Dracoco1214 more likely than not, they're just going to add more blocks to ships 1-3, they seem to be going as cheap as possible for western client ¯_(ツ)_/¯

RE: Are we still getting an announcement on a potential new server GMS?

It does say a lot that SEGA couldn't take several minutes out of the last 9 days to let us know if a server was incoming or not, but suppose we will find out on Wednesday. It just seems a bit silly. The original thread wouldn't have gotten to like what, 2,300 posts if they told us y/n a week ago. Because if they were going to release servers, people would know and would wait on it and if they weren't, then people could have rolled their characters and used the one time use account items without worry. Either way, I pity the GMs. If servers are released, people will complain that they're stuck on 1-3 cause they weren't told new servers were coming and used their one time use items and if they aren't released people will rant about it because SEGA could have said something within last 14 days. You'll have others who are happy about developments either way, but a lot of the complaining and rants could have been side stepped if just y/n was given earlier.

Anyhow, suppose the silver lining is that the next time an issue pops up (as issues tend to do in a MMO) I know not to expect anything for two weeks from SEGA and that this should definitely be a back burner game than something to actually focus, let alone spend money, on xD
