You do realize that 343 is a division of Xbox Game Studios, which is a division of Microsoft right? 343 isn't some kind of independent studio like Bungie was, 343 IS Microsoft.

You do realize that Steam is a distribution service right?. You can't "port" something to Steam because software doesn't run on Steam, it runs on the OS which Steam also runs on. Unless they are porting it to the Steam OS in which case it wouldn't be running on Windows 7, it would be running on the Steam OS.
More importantly, given that this game was originally on Windows 7 as a .exe rather then a Windows 10 app, that would mean the Windows 10 version is the port and the Windows 7 version is the original version.
So why not release the original version before the port?
