RE: Please Sega, Stop Shooting Yourself in the Foot

To those complaining/concerned about this, please realize they're trying to push out like six to eight years of content in about six months.

Literally everything that we get is only going to be worthwhile for a fraction of the amount of time it was originally intended to be. Take a month break from the game right now and when you come back there'll be something newer and better to replace everything you just put effort into getting. That's how PSO2 NA is going to work until they catch up to JP. This isn't a secret or something unexpected.

If you aren't ready to accept such speedy progression making your effort and expenditures feel 'wasted', then I suggest you don't put in quite so much of either for now.

RE: [Ship 3 NA] Second Story new alliance recruiting!

Now active in game! Been in a few days, got things up and running, along with a few new entrants. Short term aiming for that 12 member bonus from the Alliance event, but more importantly just trying to find people that get along with the group!

RE: Thoughts on the Founders Bundle

As an aside for this -

Will this still be available for PC players to buy? Seems silly to pass up an income opportunity, but still... Very interested and curious.

RE: Thoughts on the Founders Bundle

Did you see how much is in there? It’s a good price for PSO2 and would be a good price for comparable stuff in most any other MMO. FFXIV hasn’t ever had anything comparable because they’re a pay to play game and they don’t have anything other than cosmetics or account services to buy. However, if they did make a bundle - looking at the prices for everything they sell - it certainly wouldn’t be cheaper than this.

Plus, you know, support the free to play game.

RE: Introduce yourself!

Zephyr here, though I haven't completely settled on my character name yet. Played on the JP servers for awhile as Celes Volnutt, but never could get friends into the game there due to the language hassles, so eventually gave it up. Ridiculously glad to see the NA version hit!

Gaming is my main hobby, and I'll play most any genre, minus a few exceptions - namely sports, RTS, and any PvP focused games. Lately been alternating between XCOM 2 and Wolcen on my own, and Division 2 with a friend - oh, and a translated Phantasy Star Generations game for kicks ^_^. Basically, if I'm home, I'm gaming.

I used to write fanfiction and other stories of my own, but put it aside to try and focus on game programming - which hasn't gone great XD. Not the coding part - I get that - but the making myself focus on it and not playing games part. Still keep at it though, if slowly. May go back and finish an old story too, as I hate leaving one unfinished. So many options XD.

Anyway, looking forward to hopping into PSO2 with everyone (Ship 3, go!). PC player here, so hopefully that doesn't take an even longer wait!

RE: PC ver gonna be released later

The only saving grace is that the twitter message linked in the original post here came before the Xbox only Closed Beta. Hopefully that's what they were mainly referring too... I suppose I'll survive if they don't include PC in open beta either (jerks XD), but if they actually launch separately, with months in between - UGH!

As others have said, PC version basically already exists, just like the game itself does. I imagine architecture between JP and NA 'might' be different, as well as the cross play between Xbox and PC, but really, these are such minor issues, especially compared to what they've already done, that they shouldn't be worth mentioning. Xbox and Win 10 are both MC systems. Please don't leave PC out in the cold XD.

And no, having the JP version available is not a consolation to PC players. It's not like we can transfer anything, nor get our friends who only want the NA version into the JP.

sighs Can only hope they handle this well.

RE: What was your favorite PSO1 character class, and will it effect the character you build in PSO2?

Ooh, tough choice.

My highest, and thus main, character was a HUcaseal, and I enjoyed the heck out of her. Amusingly, the weapon I remember using the most was twin machine guns. I never did play PSO online though, was all solo play, and getting up to that ultra hard difficulty where the stages and enemies changed style was 'hard'! XD

Sadly, TMG will not be something I run in PSO2. My short time with the JP version didn't endear me to the Gunner at all. I may try it again at some point, but really not my style.

Looking forward to true, onilne PSO2 for the long run!

[Ship 3 NA] Second Story new alliance recruiting!

Alliance Name: Second Story

Ship No.: 3

Alliance Type: Casual/Team Play/Goal Oriented

Alliance Population: 6

Alliance Time Zone: PST/MST

Looking For:

  • Players who want to team up, get stronger, collect more things, and see everything PSO2 has to offer - or maybe just specific bits, your choice! If you're looking for people to play other games with as well, even better.

Description:

  • Second Story is a PC based gaming group built around the concept that games are just more fun in co-op. MMO, shooter, RPG, action, adventure - there's little we haven't or won't play (though our founding members don't touch PvP really).

Team Discord:

  • By invite. Send me a message to say hi if you're interested!

Started from a few friends, Second Story is an up and coming alliance looking to bolster its ranks. We’ll never be a huge group - hence our Ship 3 home - but we are interested in those looking for small groups and new friends to enjoy our time in PSO2, and other games for that matter. While this will be the main game home for now, the aim is to create a lasting group for wherever we may end up in the future!

Second Story should be a pleasant place to spend our time, and the rules for members are simple: keep it friendly and don’t cause trouble! No drama, no trolling, no harassment - you know the drill.

We’ve got a Discord channel up and running, and our existing group uses voice chat regularly. It’s not required of course, but there’ll definitely be voice channels available and in use.

Standard playtime for original members are weekends (Sat/Sun) and mornings/evenings.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

~ Zephyr

RE: What other games is ARKS playing?

Oh too many things XD.

Playing XCom 2 off and on again, The Division 2 with a friend of mine, and just started up Wolcen - which I've had in my Steam library in Early Access for like two years but finally full released. Also occasionally playing WoW with my wife, as it's about the only MMO she's ever really gotten into (though I have hopes for PSO2, which she's going to try!).

I also have the game making issue. Working on a project with a group in RPG Maker MV, but it's not time intensive as they all have busy/troublesome lives. Really need to get back to learning the Unity engine, as it's a more serious, professional software. Mostly just been doing javascript plugins for MV these past few years,

RE: Gcha Concerns/suggestions

@Id0lHeart FFXIV is subscription based though. Pay to play games run very differently, and would likely cause a riot if they implemented all the free to play gacha/loot box nonsense ^_^
