@Lanre I'm talking about not being able to re-sell AC items.
This idea is usually not great which is why it never gets implemented it pretty much any MMO. I'd rather have BDO's market than this. They'd have to properly adjust the prices to account for stock on a regular basis though which I doubt they'd do. PA already struggles adjusting prices accordingly. There are so many items that should be 10x the price because of demand but they remain the same so what happens is you have 10k+ people setting pre orders and waiting...
@Riesz Yeah, it's a little weird. I guess it may be a little bit difficult when you are trying to scale mountains and jump from platform to platform in cocoons but other than that I can't really see it being too bad.
In the dengeki interview Arai mentioned that it used to be faster in the earlier build but they changed it because it became difficult to control.
Imo they should crank up the speed a little more at the very least. Also give movement PAs more range. Right now it's really short and if you use them out of their short range you just attack normally without actually moving.
@HermitST Yes, I was looking on the bright side.
PSO2's monetization was already like a mobile game tbh. They were already putting certain emotes behind a paywall in the scratches they were releasing. The main difference in NGS is that they decided to tell f2p players to get stuffed.
@Prancing_Cat Yeah, it's pretty bad. The good news is it's over 1 month and the 2 upcoming scratches will likely put you over that amount if you spend as they are pretty appealing.
@AngryRhombus563 Which is why it's still dropping for those items. It's not going to be comparable to JP because they haven't had money printed since launch like we have. We have way more money in circulation. Our baselines are way higher than theirs because of what people are willing to purchase at and people sticking to small undercut increments is why it takes so long to reach lower prices. This influences the prices people scratching sell for.
NA just has too many cheaters contributing to the problem.
@AngryRhombus563 Supply is moving though. Obviously way slower compared to the first day or 2 and it depends on the item. Lealu hair is 1 example of something that is still selling at it's current prices. Most who have ample money get their stuff in the first 2 days of a scratch releasing. That's when things fly off the shelves. People are still buying at these ridiculous prices clearly illustrating that there is some demand still. There's absolutely no reason to drop the prices drastically as items become coveted once out of rotation. That's thanks to Sega's design.
I noted down some of the changes to stock and prices that occured from a small selection of items from the recent scratch over about a 8 hour period.
Lealu hair- 29 listings to start. Dropped to 26, no price change. Rose to 30 listings with 2 listings of 3.5mill from 4.5mill. 3.5mill listing sold. Rose from 29 back to 30 with base listing of 4mill.
Taure hair- 24 listing to start. Dropped to 22, no price change. Rose to 23 listings with 1 listing of 3.6mill from 4.4mill. Back down to 21 listings with base listing of 4.6mill.
Servante Lealu- 46 listings to start. Dropped to 44 listings with 1 listing of 540k from 900k. Further drop to 43 listings with base listing of 900k.
Marine Taure/b2- 41 listings to start at 1.5mill. Dropped to 38, no price change.
This is only over a small period of time well after the main 2 day rush has already happened yet prices are still moving and selling at these ridiculous prices.
@dalamar I'm sure JP has people who hoard and sell items out of rotation. They just don't have the absurd inflation we have.
@Star-Platinum I think once they've finally released all the classes they want to we'll probably start getting more content overall.
I think a lot of players wanted to play the class they fell in love with from PSO2. So class releases have become the priority.
@AngryRhombus563 The meseta has to come from somewhere to begin with. 1 person doing weeklies on 1 account with a bit of grind amounts to absolute fuck all especially when you consider that the average play time for a casual is roughly 1 hour and a bit per day. Yes, by saving each week you will be able to afford something eventually if you spend on nothing else but these aren't the main people pumping money into the economy. We wouldn't have the situation we have now with prices if it was only these people. Also we may as well change that casual play time number and make it even lower as people are currently bored shitless in this game so they are naturally playing less.
The people who are farming meseta at alarming rates in mass are redbox spammers, weekly spammers and goldfarmers. Even a mere 100 people doing this is enough to shift the market. This is where the bulk of the money is coming from.
I didn't say I sniped a 3.7 mill deal. I mentioned there was a price shift due to lower demand for the item. You said the prices weren't moving in your previous post which is a lie. When I talked about sniping it was in relation to watching the market often enough to see price shifts and items being bought up.
@AngryRhombus563 They are moving even if it's a slow rate on the NA side anyway. I know because I continually check to snipe good deals. For example the Parasol emote used to be 5mill. It's now 3.7 on my ship. This is a pretty clear example of a price shift due to lower demand. If you look often enough you'll see people undercutting eachother and some doing moderate undercuts. Those are the items that get sniped real fast. Every now and then new stuff gets listed. With this in mind anyone who's actually sold anything or checks on the market on a regular basis will know that these items are in fact selling. They don't need to sell in a day or a week especially when it's better to hoard until the scratch rolls out of rotation. The only items that barely sell or take ages to sell are the undesired featured ones which cannot be sold lower than 500k and other less desired items such as male outfits. All of the less desired items have been reducing in price over time for the most recent scratch tickets still in rotation.
Where do you think all that money is coming from that people are able to afford 4-8mill priced hairstyles and 1mill+ outfits? It's certainly not coming from players grinding normally that's for sure.
@Zenny You say a lot of "probablies" without actually checking or providing proof.
Well I don't play on the JP server here and I don't plan to just to prove a point that is obvious.
I mean you checked yourself and basically just showed that JP has more stock for scratch items than NA. If there is more supply than meets demand then that is something that contributes to a price drop.
At this point it's just logical thinking. They definitely don't have meseta being injected into their economy like we do. If they did their prices would be fucked, just like ours are right now.
Red boxing was banned and the meseta gained through it was removed, thats not a factor.
You are delusional if you think people are still not doing this. So what if a couple people get banned here and there? Even if the players stop, goldfarmers wont (though I'm sure they have even better means to earn now). Hilarious how you even try to say it's not a factor as so many have gotten away with it and kept their goods. Sega hasn't resolved the problem at all. The damage has been done.
NA don't rapidly buy meseta from RMT, and even if they did that is perfectly illustrating the increased greed of NA people, adding on lazyness.
Load of shit but ok. People buy gold because it's cheaper to simply buy gold to pay for goods than to scratch as buying gold lets you pay for what you want rather than dealing with rng through scratching and other means resulting in spending way less. I mean, lets be real here. Would goldsellers continue to sell PSO2 gold if it wasn't being bought? They treat this game like a business. If they continue to earn money, they'll stick around. If not, then they'll move to something that will.
All just excuses to justify one side pricing things higher than the other. You'd say the same things about JP datacenter vs NA datacenter in FFXIV even tho they are at parity in all things including RMT and gather/crafter bots, even tho you can observe the same price differences as shown. Its always the increased greed of western mindsets.
I play on a JP datacenter and this doesn't seem to be the case? Prices are actually more expensive on my server compared to the western ones.
Now, you cant even include all of the east as "not as greedy" because clearly there is only one tiny country included in the east in this particular scenario, but Global unfortunately has "all but that country" to deal with, so even if your particular region doesn't tend to have increased level of greed, areas that do are included. Regardless of what you want to believe in this, "Global" has higher levels of overall greed that that tiny country when it comes to the markets of MMO's. Always been that way. hate the idea if you want.
What has greed got to do with anything in the current situation? When you have shitloads of meseta injected into the economy through botters and people doing weeklies/red boxes on alts this is what you get. People aren't running a charity. If there's demand for something and people are willing to pay the price that will be what it is worth. The thing is, people are more willing to pay absurd prices when they can continually farm meseta or buy meseta is large amounts from goldsellers.
They can eliminate RMT (but they really cant, not even on JP), and they can take away red box meseta and the results are exactly the same. They are just convenient excuses now. Its just the general placing a higher value, and sometimes an excessive value, on ones belongings.
Excuses lol...you are dead wrong here. I brought up Cradle from base PSO2 because it's pretty much evidence of what happens to the market when shitloads of meseta is injected into the economy.
The prices only started getting stupid in NGS when more people hopped on the red box farm. The goldseller prices also dropped to crazy low levels at one point. It was basically 1 dollar for 1 mill. Put that into perspective. I could get a popular female hairstyle for 5 dollars at current prices if I were to buy gold rather than scratch 30 times to get a ticket to get it.
