It is an argument if a game is marketed as such. For example, mobile games tend to be marketed as casual games to play on the go, yet you have people going at them completely hardcore. You cannot discount that factor as an excuse when it is a core aspect of a game.
The fact remains that the primary market for this game is jp casuals; we cant change this. Sega already built its base for years, and they will cater to them. As someone pointed in another post, for years the global market was irrelevant at best and a nuisance at worst. The whole point of the CBT was to measure western interest, same with the global release of old pso2. Though there is interest in the west and it may be enough to change Sega's viewpoints, we will still remain secondary to the JP market.
You want proof of this? Watch the commercial for NGS. It screams casual/social gameplay. Hell, even the PSOCOMI makes fun of this.
