I won't go too deep into it, but Frontlines - until the rework in Stormblood - WAS a good example of decent, not perfect, decent PvP. . . But the community's refusal to learn or even TRY it, SE's frequent neglect, then over-tweaking of it, and the fact that the once dedicated community that supported it for 4 years while everyone else avoided it and called it "bad" without actually trying it (OR like I've seen here, assuming defeat and making no effort to even try) simply walked away from it in disgust and disappointment once it was supposedly "improved" with the rework says a LOT.
Like. . . when did gamers just become so okay with giving up without even trying? Or playing a GAME without trying to win? OR even just playing to be entertained, win or lose? I won't mince words; it's kinda pathetic. I know I might be stepping on toes to say it, but if you won't even try, you don't deserve the reward, big or small.
BUT! Nothing's being forced on anyone. When you've got to go out of your way to go to a completely separate lobby - so separate you can't even use some of the common functions of the game while there - and actively make effort to queue for a match, that's not being forced. That's active effort. No effort, no reward.
