RE: Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

I just want to add, the censored height is even more ridiculous with the PSO2COMI voice tickets. With the Makino voice, my character is taller than Al and all the other short characters, but has a higher pitched voice coming from a character who was at the minimum JP height.

@RainGnyu Assuming you're serious about not knowing what ESRB ratings are for, they're for people to decide whether or not they should play it. For example it's not Rockstar's responsibility to avoid offending people playing GTA, it still has an M rating so people can know what to expect before playing.

@KOSMOSFAN22497 You're not going to get any kind of answer from them, they're just here to make "witty" comments and avoid replies where they don't have an argument

@Liam-J-McAdam I doubt bunny suits are subject to any kind of copyright. In FFXIV, there are two sets of easily obtainable bunny suits (that male character can also wear), and playboy is not mentioned anywhere in regards to copyright. Xenoblade Chronicles X also featured bunny suits for women to wear.

@GM-Deynger said in Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.:

Hi all, just checking in to let you know that this feedback is being reported. And for those who are against censorship, just know that your opinions are reflected too.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time a GM has ever directly referred to the issue being censorship. We might just be getting somewhere.

@Michelle Just by the way, that's not a thing anymore. I want to say in either episode 4 or 5 they dropped that requirement for making new accounts, so the only obstacle now is a japanese captcha.

RE: Buying the uncensored version: a suggestion for the height slider and other removed content.

@Anarchy-Marine I think the main difference here is that anime and games are different beasts. I can't think of a single time where games have been censored and gamers weren't upset about it.

The absence of censorship is even celebrated in some cases. I believe it was when a Senran Kagura game was shown to be censored on the PS4, Nintendo, of all companies, went out and said that the games wouldn't be censored on their platform.

I believe that if word got out to a larger crowd, the support would greatly shift towards anti-censorship. Strangely enough, the Karens rarely care about games and instead tend to target anime, who knows why.

RE: Buying the uncensored version: a suggestion for the height slider and other removed content.

@Liam-J-McAdam Yeah, except the GMs have been less than helpful in matters of censorship, if they even deliver that feedback to the devs like they claim to do. The only way I could see the issue being resolved is if a larger game media outlet covers a story on the censorship in the game.

RE: Buying the uncensored version: a suggestion for the height slider and other removed content.

@Weirdo Thing is, I don't think a compromise is the right answer. There's absolutely no reason for any of the content in the original game to be forcibly hidden from people, or even behind a toggle. If people don't like what the original game has to offer, they shouldn't petition to change these things for everyone, they should do the adult thing and disregard the parts they don't like.

Sega needs to understand what people want from this game. Clearly someone did, when they announced "all the content", they knew what the expectations around the game would be. Whether that was just a lie to get people hyped up, or an honest attempt at bringing over everything that was discarded along the way, we can't know. Either way, I think what's needed is a way to bring more attention to the issue than forum posts, where GMs can pick and choose what gets forwarded to the devs. As things stand, not even the most pro-censorship compromise would get through to Sega.

RE: Buying the uncensored version: a suggestion for the height slider and other removed content.

I completely disagree. Sega shouldn't charge for uncensoring content. It takes time and effort to modify the game to cater to overly-sensible types. Simply translating the game and giving us all the original content takes far less work.

I also see this as something that's as scummy as racketeering, it's causing a problem and charging people for the solution.
