RE: So do cosmetics/costumes carry over?

@Thirstday So... I'm just going to copy my post from another thread and repost it here, as it's pertinent.

There are 2 assumptions being made by people.

  1. Anything not listed as NOT being transferable is transferrable.
  2. Anything not listed as transferable is NOT transferrable.

Both of these are speculative assumptions because the information hasn't been provided. I've read the NA announcement, and I've read speculation on this board and on reddit, and that's all it is right now, speculation, because they haven't said affirmatively one way or the other.

So, those who are saying we shouldn't be so negative might be right, and I hope they are. Likewise, those who are being negative might be right, and I hope we aren't. I would just like confirmation from SEGA one way or the other.

RE: Guess we all wasted our money on pso2...

@Ephemiel - I am glad you are so certain and sure about this. I would still like an official statement from SEGA affirmatively saying that the cosmetics are transferrable, because though you are 100% positive and think the rest of us are being ridiculous, we obviously don't agree with that view.

RE: So do cosmetics/costumes carry over?

@Thirstday

For clarity to add to @Knight-Raime , what they said, and what has been translated from Japanese twitter, is that all registered account items will transfer, which the community has interpreted, reasonably so, as including hair, innerwear, base wear, accessories, and anything that requires you to consume a ticket to have it.

What we don't know is about the items like outerwear, costumes, and weapon skins that don't lock to your account like that.

@Ephemiel As I already posted in response to someone else who shared the link to the announcement;

RE: Guess we all wasted our money on pso2...

@Ephemiel ... Do I need to link you the dozen articles that came out in the last 8 hours saying that NG is basically PSO3?

PSO2 is getting a graphic overhaul. However, NG is a completely different program installing on your device with the same graphics engine, a completely different story, altered combat, altered skills, altered classes, completely different environments to explore... the only thing that makes it not a complete PSO3 is the fact that any transfer is allowed at all and they called it PSO2:NG, and not PSO3.

So yes, it isn't called PSO3, but for all functionality, it basically is.

@DankNugs9429 🤣 I do actually have a few cosplay outfits for when I've been to DragonCon. Good response. 😃

RE: Guess we all wasted our money on pso2...

@DankNugs9429 It has to do with the type of game and expectations related to that type (specifically MMORPGs). Sure, people spend 100's in FIFA, Madden, COD, etc. but they know the shelf life of the game they are playing is 1 year. The expectation of a MMO is that it will be around a long time. PSO2 was around a long time in Japan, but it hasn't been in the US. I guarantee that if US players, like myself, knew that PSO2:NG was coming out 12-18 months after PSO2 released in the US, a lot less money would have been spent on AC ticket items (IF they don't transfer over... if they do, then it wouldn't have mattered and people would spend away, and that's the issue at hand here, and what we don't know and want clarification on).

RE: So do cosmetics/costumes carry over?

@Night-Warden363 Right, which is why I would like an official statement. That's all. I think that's all anyone wants is an official statement so we can have some clarity about this and not just go by speculation.

RE: Guess we all wasted our money on pso2...

@Ephemiel I think being told that PSO3 is launching a year after PSO2 releases in the US, and not being given all the information about transferring, is something to be concerned about, especially for players who have already spent $100's on PSO2.

You are correct, there is nothing forcing me to spend money... but I, and many others, already DID spend money, and that's what is concerning us.
