Well really only time well tell what’s right or wrong. Plus this game has only been out a month and this thread topic was put on display three days after release. If you don’t know NGS was released on Jun 9, 2021 this thread topic went up June 12, 2021. So did you really explore game content or were you trying to be the first doomsday sayers because you couldn’t be the first at anything else in the game?

Give the game three Months which is a quarterly guideline of concerns or approval. Which then your projection well make sense or not.

Nice misrepresentation of why that graph was posted, it wasn't to celebrate the downward trend but to counteract the DEFLECTION made by that one poster that this phenomenon is a natural summer time trend(hint it isn't.)

Won't say much more on that because Gilver pretty much stated everything I was going to say on page 54.

So........Showing a graph is to make what point? Are you guys talking to Sega or the community? Are you guys trying to bandwagon to community to prove your theories are right? What is the purpose or objective within the statement of “where the content Sega” title of the thread? Because I personally have tons of content, so I am not understanding the thread topic evidently!

So do you have to have a lighting weapon for the lighting capsule to work?

This idea that people scrutinising complaints are defending Sega or NGS or are pretending that NGS is full of content while being unwilling to discuss any lack of content is frankly absurd. It is itself an act of deflection in my view. Twice in the last few days I have tried to discuss what Sega could actually do, and I have even explained this is what I've tried to do, and the response has still been to ignore it and get back to unproductive whining.

And now it's people disagreeing with unproductive whines that are evading the subject of content? Really? To read "maybe the actual discussion of content can be engaged" feels somewhat insulting when most of the complainers themselves are avoiding doing exactly that.

No. This story is ongoing. We should be discussing what could be done, how the gameplay loop could be made more fun and compelling either before or by the next major content addition.

I'm curious; have you even tried doing that yet? Given the current situation and on the presumption they aren't sitting on a wealth of fully-developed content, what do you think they could and should be doing at this point?

I would honestly be shocked if Bouncer and Summoner don't see more substantial reworkings. Braver was still very usable by Episode 6, and Luster was added at the end of Episode 6; both have a wealth of abilities that will transfer well into NGS as they are, which is probably why the Braver preview in the June Headline had so few surprises.

But Bouncer aged terribly into Episode 6 (if not 5 when it lost double-jump exclusivity on JP) and fluid movement is either a staple of all classes now or has been declassified entirely (the fastest distance travel is photon dashing), and Summoner was always a problem when it came to drop congestion (JP launch) or Summoner-only drop limitations (their quick-fix for that), and as power creep extended they could only really keep making it more indirect and bulky, like Alter Ego Harmony and Vulcan.

Both really need to be redeveloped considerably so they aren't either struggling to be relevant or black sheeps that constantly need extra effort to cater for whenever new content is added. I'm more excited by Bouncer given the potential that has (I half-expect it'll get relevant fields and Phantom's casting speed, but I hope it'll get Étoile durability too because Bouncer was a total wet noodle of a melee class in Episode 6).

But Summoner has to see more dramatic changes and their description of considering if or how to bring PSO2 pets into the fold in Prologue 4 (iirc) suggests they haven't (or hadn't) quite got their heads around how Summoner could be best NGS-ised just yet. I'm thinking it might be a more self-co-operative setup... I don't know Final Fantasy XIV at all but XI had both PSO2-style Summoner (kind of) and Dragoon, and I'm thinking perhaps NGS Summoner could be more like the latter where the pet supports rather than being the primary method of attack.

I like the idea of making gunblades belong to "N-Luster" because it'll put it on a level playing field with the other classes; if everyone got gunblade access, skills and so on it would make N-Luster less special I feel.

It could be interesting if it'll be the only class with one main class weapon; they could explore the gun and blade aspects in greater detail. They've also got a wealth of PSO2 PAs to build on since it'll potentially assume ownership of the best of both non-Luster and Luster PAs.

On the other hand they might also take the opportunity to give the class a weapon type that's new to NGS - and therefore PSO2 since by then NGS will already have all classic PSO2 weapon types. Perhaps we could see the return of a weapon like slicers?

Minor point in response to your quote - gunblades weren't unique to each class. For all classes that weren't Luster they were basically the same, as was their purpose. And to inject my own view, I quite like that NGS has split from the PSO mould of having all-class weapons (sabers, handguns or gunblades). It adds a greater sense of identity to classes.

Sadly this is all kind of off-topic. No matter how well-designed Bouncer, Summoner and N-Luster are, if there isn't a game for them to use their abilities in it won't help much. This is really more of a subject for another topic. For now it'd make more sense to discuss things like gameplay loops, potential quick-win quest types, tasks (client orders) and so on.

Sega doesn't believe in endgame. It took them all the way until episode 6 to give the playerbase somewhat of an endgame activity with divide quest.

Ultimate Quests were pretty endgame for Episode 3, and Duel was quite endgame for Episode 4. We on Global didn't even really get to experience the full extent of that since we got Episode 5+ efficiencies, several class buffs and so on before those things were added.

I disagree with your assessment because you individualized the one individual who is hyper active no time restriction in real life as your base model of acceptable measurements to the discussion of lack of content to stimulate the community perspective participation.

Doesn't matter if PSO2 is f2p and FFXIV is p2p, they exist in the same market and compete against each other, thus they can be compared against one another. You can't stop people from comparing the two, even if it is not a fair comparison; that is just how the market works.

PSO2 has its gacha system to help bridge the revenue gap as well. Also FFXIV is actually f2p up until the Heavensward expansion. You only need to pay once when you want to start Stormblood and on.

The steam charts for PSO2 isn't great when compared to FFXIV, despite FFXIV technically being in a content lull as they prepare for the upcoming expansion in November.

Also worth noting that Steam numbers for FFXIV should be at a disadvantage as the standalone version of FFXIV is heavily preferred as opposed to PSO2 preferring steam due to the early issues with the ms store.

This is going to be a bit of an uphill battle for Sega.

There's no incentive for sega to turn things around because whales will buy ac tickets and that's all they need. NGS serves no purpose other than to entice whales who like playing dress up

Wow really.........blame it on the whales! The game is free to play and nothing is gated behind a P2P model. You can do everything a whale can do unlike a P2P model that still makes you pay for extra outfits/cosmetics after you still pay for a subscription (FFXIV) Same whales over there. NGS is going though the same type of progression it did when it was just a JP game. We cried for it over here and we got fast track to catch up but some not all cry when we get treated the same way, even tho we’ve been asking for it. NA has this microwave mentality and forgets fine wine takes time. Our gaming pallets need to be clean so we can enjoy the true flavor and get excited when we taste it.

So I had the idea of placing the augment on one of my units instead of a lighting weapon. Have others thought the same way?
