RE: Too late?

The term "too late" really only means two different things for an MMO.

If you're one of those hyper-competitive people who has to be "the first" or on the bleeding edge of progression, then sure... it's always too late. If you're a normal player, some MMO's can suffer from having required group content that is level based, and not having people in the right level range to do it. So, you end up hitting a point where you can't solo further, but nobody is still doing that content as they're all on newer stuff.

I don't think this game suffers from that issue, since things are tiered by difficulty. It's possible to start out brand new and not feel like you can do the urgent quests right away, but even there... I'm pretty sure they'll rotate them all back in eventually. The current one is "Luther" for NA, and while it's off the schedule for the next couple weeks, we know the game will be on the PC soon, and it would be silly for them NOT to rotate it back in again. So even the time limited content is probably something you won't be "too late" for. 🙂

Scenery pass?

Are there every going to be any scenery passes aside from "basic" and "city", since they seem to be the same anyways? If there are already other ones in the game, how do you find them? Drops, scratch tickets, random combinations of 37 different currency exchanges while the moon is full? 🙂

RE: Salon pass grace period

Yes, that's exactly right. It is never described in any way, in-game, that the 60 minute grace period only applies to "Salon Pass S" and not to the "free" salon passes which you can obtain in various ways. The wording implies that the grace period applies "when using a Premium Set" which itself seems to be a different wording of "a Premium Pass".

This is probably a thing that makes perfect sense to people who have played for 8+ years and saw the systems as they went live... but it utterly confusing to new people who get everything thrown at them at once, like me. 🙂

Thanks guys!

RE: Salon pass grace period

Hmmmm, I am a premium user, and it did NOT give me any grace period.

I'm wondering if there's yet another confusingly poor choice of wording here, since the "tip" message mentioned "When using a premium set". I am a premium user, but perhaps a "permium set" means something else entirely?

Salon pass grace period

I thought that once you used a salon pass to change your appearance that you had 60 minutes to go back in and adjust things? This is not the case, and it's impossible to get a feel for how your character moves around after adjusting your height without exiting into the shopping plaza to run around a bit.

This isn't the new character grace period, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing it tell me you had 60 minutes to continue fine tuning your changes before you'd have to spend another pass to change anything again.

If I'd know there was no grace period at all, I would have rolled a new character and used their 5 hour grace period to tweak and save appearance data options and then deleted them.

So, I'm asking if this is the intended behavior, or if this is a bug, for future reference so I can avoid wasting in-game items. And also so I know to only use 2 character slots so I can change appearances without time pressure.

RE: WHY NO MICS???????????????????????????????

@Zone said in WHY NO MICS???????????????????????????????:

@Quixadhal There's a Mute button on all Mics with Xbox.

Not on mine, since mine is a kinect. Mute would have to be mapped to a button on the controller, as the in-game setting resets every time you log in.... thus I just disable the voice chat entirely.

RE: Xbox game passs?

The thing is, if people were abusing it by obtaining the rewards multiple times, the solution is to fix the issue that allowed that to happen, and remove the excess rewards from the offenders accounts (or impose a penalty if that isn't possible). Punishing everyone for the crimes of a few is never the right choice. That's why servers keep logs of transactions.

I mean, yeah... it's not that big a deal, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. What OTHER things will we have to suffer in the future when other exploits are found and abused by people?

RE: Xbox game passs?

I just think it's a shame. Everyone who missed it by a day is left further behind the curve for in-game money, and misses out on the 30 day premium pass. The intent was clearly to reward us early adopters with some starting cash and a premium pass to get a leg up in the early part of the game where making money is slow.

I think after they fixed the exploit, they should have left the rewards as they were, but.... oh well.

RE: Xbox game passs?

It will be, but not with the same rewards. Bad decision IMO, as this acts to punish people who were late unless you think the new rewards are of more value to you than the original ones were.

RE: WHY NO MICS???????????????????????????????

I don't enable my mic because there's no push-to-talk button on the controller, and nobody wants to hear me yell at my cats, or listen to my TV, or hear the police sirens outside my window.... or any of the many other noises that the mic will detect and decide it must be me talking to the group, and thus start broadcasting.

No thank you.

Not a big fan of voice chat in general, and certainly not without a push-to-talk key.
