@ZorokiHanuke said in Episode 4 story is disgusting:
Ok, I keep hearing the story is bad, but the part OP mentioned about age difference, I think it has to do with how Japan sees things like the mixing of age, romance and even sex. Americans will most likely never get to terms with what the Japanese writers can come up with. Many manga/anime stories I've seen come with stuff I wouldn't have included and from my view, seem either excessive or just not plain fitting the rest of the story. But I put up with it because I know the media was not made for me, but for people who understood and live daily with such tropes.
Like an hypothetical example, having a cute slice of life anime with a bunch of kids or something, whose purpose is mainly to calm and relax the viewer, but suddenly adding pantsu, little girls in compromising situations, and pervert/sex tropes in the middle of it, just to switch back into the first theme about calmness and stuff. We will see this a lot in Japanese writing, so I suppose those watching/reading, should try to get used to it, because that's pretty much their norm based on their own culture.
Remember we are just watchers of something not made within our shores nor for us, so differences are to be expected.
The Japanese are not literal aliens my dude. They are not a monolithic whole and just because you see some weird shit in anime meant to cater specifically to pocket miners doesn't mean all of Japan is into that garbage. That's like saying everyone in America absolutely loves to bone down with their siblings and it's completely okay because you watched game of thrones, and clearly it's a norm in this culture.
This is the inherent problem with weebs: you don't ever seem to realize that Japan isn't Anime: The Country and take everything you see in a cartoon as 100% face value fact about a place you've never been and people you'll never meet.
Also fetishising underaged girls and their underpants is really gross, regardless of whether or not you're compromising an otherwise competent work of media to do so.
