RE: Option to turn off chat bubbles PLEASE!

Giving an option to hide all speech bubbles just so you can't see bot spam isn't a good solution at all. That'd just be putting a band-aid over the problem as well as all other speech bubbles.

Just report the bot, blacklist them, and move on. That's far more effective than just ignoring the problem until it goes away.

RE: Post-Graphical Update System Requirements?

From https://new-gen.pso2.jp/cbt/entry/spec/ and translated at https://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-new-genesis-jp-closed-beta-announcement/

Note that these are the recommended specifications for the Closed Beta Test, and they can change when NGS has released.

OS
    Windows 8.1 64bit or Windows 10 64bit

CPU
    【Low / Medium Quality】Intel Core i5-9400 or equal
    【High Quality】Intel Core i9-10900

RAM
    【Low / Medium Quality】8GB RAM
    【High Quality】16GB RAM

Hard Drive
About 100GBs (NGS is about 30GB and PSO2 is about 70GB)
※You can reduce download times by completely installing the currently available version of PSO2. However do note, that the "PSO2 currently in service" and the "PSO2 used for the closed beta" both require disk space for each version.

Monitor Resolution
    【Low Quality】1280x720
    【Medium / High Quality】1920x1080

Graphics Card
    【Low Quality】NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950 or equal
        AMD Radeon™ R9 285 or equal
    【Medium Quality】NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060
        AMD Radeon™ RX 580
    【High Quality】NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2070 SUPER
        AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 XT

Sound Card

RE: I have no choice but to demand Premium time compensation for Disabled Player Trade

Out of curiosity, what do you use the player to player trading system for that PRE Boxes cannot handle?

I've never used the player to player trading system myself mainly because I forget it even exists.

RE: PSO2 music.

You can certainly import copies of these CDs and deluxe edition using websites like CD Japan or Play Asia. That's how I got my Episode 3 Vita deluxe edition, Episode 6 PC deluxe edition and Phantasy Star Nova.

Of course, the item codes will only work on the Japanese servers, which is unfortunate. The episode 6 deluxe edition cosmetics are awesome.

PSO2 Episode 6 deluxe edition male human cosmetics

Global is missing out on thesex and I'm surprised they haven't been sold as packs like the Sonic Pack.

RE: PSO2 music.

The official soundtrack CDs currently go up to the end of Episode 5. Otherwise just search up the name of the area you want to listen to on YouTube and there you go. Cyber Meteor has several playlists for PSO2 music.

RE: Extremely spammy autochat cut-ins!

No matter how much discouragement the game gives, you'll still have players who'll apply as much effects as they can to their autochats because they think it's cool or they're intentionally doing it to annoy others. Disabling cut-ins in autochat would help a lot. I'd love to see a setting to disable cut-ins from autochats from other players that doesn't disable autochats completely, because they have their uses.

RE: Bruh.. WTF every single god damn BOT has BOOM spam now

Going back to the "complete episode 1 to chat" suggestion, not only would that inconvenience those that don't care for the optional story, but the people running the bots would just implement a way for them to cheese through the story quests, most likely by using cheats to go out of bounds where enemies cannot touch them. They'll find a way to bypass nProtect GameGuard somehow.

All I can suggest is done personally is that a chat filter is implemented that's more dynamic than the one built into the client already and is done server-side. That way GMs can add words to the filter on-the-fly without requiring a client update.

From there, some sort of chat shadowban system can be implemented where if a bot hits too many words on the filter too often then their chat is hidden from all other players other than themselves. The problem with that though is that you need to ensure that real players don't trigger that filter too, and the bot owners will have methods to bypass the filter b changing the contents of their messages.

RE: OTS View Doubt

Depending on the PA being used, PSO2 can either lock your crosshair horizontally or slow it down. This is by design, and the only way around it is to disable OTS view.

RE: How Come PSO2 Isn't On GeForce Now Yet? It's probably a good idea to get it on GeForce Now before New Genesis arrives!

There used to exist a GeForce Now version (branch) viewable on SteamDB that was added back in August but it has since disappeared in October. I wonder what happened to it?

Even if the experience is less than ideal, not everyone has latency issues with streaming services, and as long as you are near to the servers providing the stream and have a straight shot to them it'll work well enough. They'd just be the data caps to contend with in countries that unfortunately have them.

New Genesis drops Perfect Attacks so there's less timing required with attacks. Dodging and Perfect Guarding will be a bit trickier though with the stream latency.

RE: PSO2 NGS Insight

@Thirstday It's worth noting that the "Items Obtained in PSO2 That Cannot Be Used in PSO2: NGS" section does not mention anything about cosmetics, and that this is said as well:

The information provided on this page is for a game still under development. The content and specifications may change at any time without notification.

Along with this:

For weapons pertaining to classes that have not yet been added to PSO2: NGS, they will be unusable until the relevant class has been released.

They said that for weapons but not for cosmetics. If not all cosmetics would be available on release, they would mention that in the same way that they've done here unless they are intentionally hiding that, or it was an oversight.

Like you say, we're not SEGA. However with the information given by them and the vagueness surrounding cosmetics, I'm not surprised that people are assuming all cosmetics from PSO2 will be available from the get-go. They wouldn't be saying "all character creation info" if that wasn't the case.
