Just need to add the blindfold eventually. Nice to see 9S doing at least something SIMILAR to his actual job for once. And in peace.

RE: En Masse Entertainment closing down

@ZorokiHanuke

Oh wow... The amount of times they gave "we're just the game publisher, we don't have anything to do with what BHS does, we have to do things as they say to keep publishing rights" as an excuse... Nasty... Fucking nasty...

I doubt GF wants more TERA. They already have the whole player base there without buying the NA publishing rights, lots of people migrated a year ago, two years ago. TERA was always a headache for them anyway since people kept fighting over who was the best publisher and leaving one for another at the drop of a hat. GF lost most of the times.

Also you can only beat a dead cow so much until it stops giving money.

These are the ones I remember more or less being around so they would probably be the best to approach (when their probable non-disclosure expires) about how it was working inside EME. I did remember the username of someone on the more tech side of the game working for EME that left a few years back? Treeshark? Might be approachable too but I have no idea how to find him.

Also they're launching 2 sorts of mobile games. Of course. The last ditch attempt of all dead games...

This one seems more like a strategy game and will be available to us soon: TERA: Endless War

And this one is literally the PC game beaten up to fit a phone. Still in Chinese: TERA Classic

Incoming auto-attack for days. Better off playing Genshin Impact and their crooked RNG.

This doesn't deserve its own thread so I'll put it here...

Can we all agree that "Report Real Money Trading" should get its own menu option on the 1st menu that shows up when you select a nearby character?

Thiiiiisssss pleaseeeeeee.

RE: Give veteran players the ability to silence bots.

No.

I've been literally intimidating the bots into another block by walking towards them and standing there (while reporting them for RMT and blocking them ofc, which is basically the non-insane version of your "solution").

Try going after one. Chase it inside the elevator and stand there with it a few secs. Bot will leave. Not even joking it's pretty funny to do if you're wearing something like a Rappy or a Lilipa suit. It's basically the PSO2 version of this:

Report and block. That's what we should do. Always. If people stop doing it obviously they don't get looked at.

Its funny cause they cost more than the actual game

well the game is free to play. So it was expected.

I think they literally meant Nier: Automata. Although at least on STEAM since they're selling the Game of the YoRHa Edition it's still like 40€.

But if you pool the 3 packs together yeah I get the irony, they cost more than the game they come from pfffft.

RE: Global players and character design.

Some people like to meme, some people like to make aesthetically pleasing characters, some people even like to make themselves irl, we're all different, we all enjoy different things. What matters in the end is that we're enjoying the game.

RE: En Masse Entertainment closing down

@ZorokiHanuke said in En Masse Entertainment closing down:

@敗者 I see your points and they are valid, though many, if not most of them, excluding the communuty management ones, are the guilt of the parent company and not Enmasse itself.

Hi, sorry for replying a year later.

Can't disagree with you on that at all. At first EME had decent communication with BHS but it started deteriorating quickly once the F2P model was implemented, then even more when they launched PUBG, and even more so when they became KRAFTON. I guess more players, more demands, more suggestions from the publisher and BHS was/is a pretty lazy company. I say this being pretty lazy myself.

Though unlike other dev-publishser relationships, EME was Bluehole's NA arm. But for the most part, other than dealing with the public and whatever role they had with localization, they were pretty much limited to what BHS ordered them to do. And their closing is also a decision from Korea's top brass as well.

It's EME that's closing down, not TERA. EME didn't belong to BHS, they were an independent publisher. Most of EME's games have been published to STEAM instead. While Closers was already there and still lists EME as the publisher, accounts are being migrated to Naddic the developer. Same thing with The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Says the publisher is EME but it's BonusXP, the developer, handling things. The only one up to date already is Stranger Things 3 that lists BonusXP as both developer and publisher.

TERA NA is the only orphaned game of theirs at the moment, with no publisher.

Now of course, we may never know up to what extent EME had any autonomy or decision power, if any. Would be interesting if after a year or so, some internet magazine like Polygon or IGN finds and interviews any EME employee, to see how much they can disclose of that operation.

CMs' that left on their own terms 5 years ago iirc:

  • Tonkas' Twitter
  • Mineas' Twitter
  • Harmonias' Twitter

(Side note: These 3 CMs' worked at EME at the same time.)

The wave of CMs' that came and left after and idk how/why they left (while I was playing, I took some long breaks and might be missing some people and info):

  • Danicias' Twitter (arrived and left 5 years ago)
  • Spacecats' Twitter (arrived shortly before Danicia left, left 3 years ago)
  • KitTeaCups' Twitter (last CM)

By all means, these are people that might know something, or know people that know something. Sadly I rarely saw any GMs'/remember their usernames, much less people from behind the scenes. CMs' were usually in charge of Twitch streams so they were more in touch with the players. But they worked at the EME offices so...

(And yes, yes it really freaks me out that I can find people online so easily, don't worry it really does freak me out.)

RE: If possible, a race/gender change option would be nice.

@coldreactive

As I said in another post/thread. They'd require you to unequip all armor/weapon/accessories/outfits/basewear/etc. And give an error if you haven't done such yet. I don't think the PSO2 devs are capable of doing that currently. Since it's already finicky on how it detects if you have armor equipped in every slot. (For the Afin quest.)

And this information would be written in the ticket's description like it is in any other game that has this function.

On top of that, when you switch gender, the game would have to give a loading screen/etc. while it changes your characters' hairstyle to that of the default hairstyle for the opposite gender of your current race. Along with the default looks of the opposing gender.

You seem to think that SEGA is too busy to make any money putting their staff to work. As I said along with some other players, we are more than used to being able to buy race and gender change tickets for cash and if there's some error customer support exists and GMs have no problem contacting you in game if it's really necessary. Also I don't see the problem with a loading screen. We've been through this with other games, we know how it works.

They will never add a race/gender change ticket for gear/equipment/outfits though.

I have no problem with that, I said it myself, if someone wants to change race/gender they must be aware that items that are incompatible with their new look will remain incompatible. That's how it worked in other games as well.

(The fact that it's 2020 and KRAFTON does what SEGADON'T is roblox oof sound.)

RE: If possible, a race/gender change option would be nice.

@HarmlessSyan

That's just... Harsh. There have been a lot of ways that I've seen SEGA shoot itself in the foot along the years but banning someone for making a client side tool that didn't impact gameplay because they refuse to implement a feature that is almost an MMO staple? That's some very old fashioned way of thinking... Reminds me of when Nintendo didn't seem to grasp the concept of "Let's Play" and started doing everything they could to pull any and all gameplay of their games from YouTube and Twitch. It didn't hit them that it was free publicity until much later.

@ZorokiHanuke

Exactly. I remember when I played TERA that there were actual advantages and disadvantages in PvP between classes that only got corrected much later, however race and gender changing was always available in the cash shop.

@Witchfinder said in If possible, a race/gender change option would be nice.:

I simply cannot think of a justifiable reason for them to not add this feature into the game, other than "they don't want to." If they don't, I strongly disagree with how they feel, but if they're dead set on that approach there isn't much that can be done. It would be nice to at least get a response as to specifically why they haven't added this, or if they've even heard our requests.

If the reason is "we don't want to" I know mine and some other people's STEAM reviews are going to change.

Almost everything in the game is account bound as it is (Titles, Story Quest, Emotes) and any item you buy x2 in ticket form like hair and [In] [Ou] and [Ba] wear, just makes it more of a conundrum on why race/gender change isn't a thing. I've bound things to my account I know I won't use purely for collecting purposes. I'm perfectly aware I can't wear them on my main, I have them in case some day I decide I want to use them. I collect eyelashes, eyebrows, eyes, hairstyles, etc, just for collection purposes, regardless if my character can wear them or will wear them (some definitely not).

Me being able to change race/gender freely won't make me any less of a hoarder. Not being able to though... It just makes me not like going on my main. Or just logging on to claim any daily items and then go play something else... Which is a little sad with the current state of MMOs. This is almost the last refugee for actual MMORPG players that don't want to pay monthly.

If possible, a race/gender change option would be nice.

Don't know if this has been suggested yet, and I honestly want it purely for cosmetic reasons.

It would be nice if we could change our character's race or gender. I've played other MMO's that allowed this through the purchase of a ticket in the cash shop (in this case it would be in the AC shop).

I honestly wouldn't mind paying for it either since my reasons are purely cosmetic. However, the ticket should give us a window of time in the salon where we can change our character's proportions for free, I feel like this is obvious. Or perhaps the first time you visit the salon as your new race/gender.

As for outfits and the likes I think they should be left out of the equation. This is a conscious choice of the player, some outfits don't have options for the opposite gender, not to mention CAST parts. Let's not make this more complicated than it is. If you want to change race/gender be aware that some of your past cosmetics will no longer work for you.

Right now I'm feeling really torn since my main is a Human, but I suddenly decided I wanted Elf ears. Which made me create a new character. However, I don't like managing more than one character so... It has reduced my game time significantly... I don't see the point in investing cash in the game either now since I don't feel as connected to my character anymore, while before I had planned cash purchases for mags, storage, etc. Now they feel... Not worth it to me. My interest dwindled, something that would have been easily solved if I could simply pay to change my race.

I ask you to please consider this SEGA. It would be a really nice feature, you'd make money off of it, and players like me that dislike having alts but enjoy changing their looks freely to full extent would be very happy.
