RE: Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

Playing the JP version is however complex for some, they should follow a guide to create the account, and enter false data to create the SEGA ID, which asks for residency in Japan.

Heya! Just wanted to clarify that creating a SEGA ID does not ask for a residency at all.

Sorry but in 2012 when I first created my SEGA ID account, they were asking for my residential address and Japanese phone number. There was a tutorial on how to create the account, with fake addresses and numbers where most users outside of japan used. I don't know if it's different today, however the fake informations are still present in my SEGA ID.

This is mine

Screenshot 2020-10-14 102149_proc.jpg

I tried to update the informations with my true address and phone number but they are not compatible with the field, then I tried to insert nothing and this is the result:

Screenshot 2020-10-14 102034_proc.jpg

So, in the end SEGA ID ask for some japanese informations.

This is why playing PSO2 JP is not really a good choice. It's easy to fake the informations but many people don't like these things.

I understand that your goal is to encourage people to use the Tweaker (you are the same Aida of the tweaker right?) and I understand your position, if you know a way to not enter false information to create a SEGA ID account, I would like to know it, mainly because I would like to have a legal account from every point of view, with the aim of playing NGS JP in the future. (Global will remain censored at this point)

Typical censorship mindset. ALL THE CONTENT means all the posts, hypocrite. No picking and choosing now!

You're totally right, all the content means all the posts, in fact they are all there, and I have the choice to hide what I don't like. This is why I'm still here, I like it, this is freedom of choice.

Just like PSO2 Global, all the content are probably inside the game files, but in this case they hide them for us, and we have no choice. Very sad story, right?

Unfortunately these things still happen in 2020, and I fear they are getting worse as well, 2021 will be the year that many will choose to learn Japanese in order to play something that does not contain political propaganda.

I didn't understand the word "hypocrite" in your sentence though. But I will fly over. 😘

I am also starting to hate my own attitude towards this situation. I apologize if I might seem aggressive, but seeing no response from the publisher, well, things can only get worse. 😟

Based Laep

I cannot read what these people write because I have blocked them. But it seems like this thread is continually being attacked and they are always the same 2 o 3 users.

I've been visiting the forum very sporadically lately, but I don't see any progress.

A very pessimistic user, or rather, a realist, says interesting things

I'm waiting for NGS at this point. I'm kind of curious what the English JP community is going to do about that launch. I feel like the tweaker won't be ready to launch it at the same time as global if they are doing their own translations unless they can get all the info before hand.

I definitely don't doubt that people have left due to censorship but I feel as though they would have left quite a while back. Episode 4 should be the nail in the coffin far as anyone believing that they (Sega) will sway on the censorship ordeal. At this point I can only recommend they play JP if that stuff matters so much to them.

I begin to agree with this user.

However many others or some other users are leaving Global even after EP4 and the reason is the censorship, these are members of my PSO2 JP team / alliance who wanted to give Global a try. Other users I've met on Discord have also more or less had the same fate. They haven't racked up many hours on Global anyway.

I think the latest censorship about the implementation of BLM politics made the situation even worse, and other players left.

In the end, I think it would have been better if it never went Global. It was supposed to remain NA exclusive, also considering that the number of users hasn't increased much despite the new regions unlocked, but rather, they continue to decline for... unknown reasons.

Still normal MMO trend even after EP5? I don't want to know the answer.

But it certainly isn't compatible with the global audience, but it's perfectly compatible with NA.

I hope they will make a new server in the future, PSO2 EU and PSO2 Asia, with the ability to transfer the account.

RE: Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

I'm a little tired, although many complain, SEGA continues to ignore. I will also ignore the game, and maybe also this forum, for a while. I await news. For now there are only useless arguments with the same blocked people. Nothing is changed since day one 😖

@Not-A-Bear totally hit the topic, I would like to support him, but I know it's not a good idea, not here.

Wow, a lot of blocked users are posting here. 😰 But from the quotes I read doesn't seem related to censorship. I was right to block them. 😆

All of this height restriction, surprisingly Stratos got her original height. I thought she will have sudden body growth.

This is because SEGA wants to put the height restriction on players only. In fact, the auxiliaries don't even have the restriction. The situation is quite ridiculous, but it has been like this since day one.

@Akakomuma said in Anyone else find this really offensive?:

Yes. I am very offended by the change. So much so that I am going to write a 500 word forum post to voice my complaint. First they got rid of slave, now they got rid of black, and now master... Next thing you know they will be pushing the communist agenda on us.

I cannot possibly enjoy a video game if there isn't slaves, lists of black, and being referred to as master.

I will make three threads, we will call them the 3 Pains of Gamer. Each with 500 posts. With all of my anger sweat and Mountain Dew Dorito flakes.

PSO2 is dying.

The censorship is here.

I will never play again.

Press F to rise down, gamers.

Sorry but this irony is really unnecessary and not productive.

RE: Please consider making game a bit more culturally diverse

@Gingercake said in Please consider making game a bit more culturally diverse:

certain folks in this thread really thinking the idea of a written character having more melanin in their skin is something thats Forced upon them.

If someone requests it and the change is made for everyone, then yes, it is forced. It is against the will of the authors and against the wishes of the playerbase.

do ya'll think that when you see dark-skinned people in real life? calm down.

When I meet a black-skinned person in real life, I greet him, hug him, we are friends.

character diversity is something thats always good to discuss!

Definitely no.

given that you can make your character chubby, but there are no visibly chubby npcs, for example, is a bit disappointing. anime-styled games are perfectly capable of being as diverse as reality without diminishing the stylization, and i feel it'd make the more fantastical aspects of the game all the more fantastical. as for the more culturally-driven story ideas, thats something i myself can't speak much on, seeing as i'm an assorted saltine at best.

There is a limit to being chubby. ARKS are military, remember that. If there were more overweight NPCs, that would be quite bizarre.

though as someone said earlier, having someone from the culture they could write about being on board is always a good idea. leads to less clownery like with ep4 where the only distinctly black-coded man in the entire arc was a serial bomber who got killed as soon as he was introduced. yeowza.

Mh?

also, dark-skinned japanese people very much exist.

Yes, the Ainu. Some communities still exist today, but they are very few, probably fewer than Native Americans in proportion to the population. (According to wikipedia, they are 25.000). Quite unlikely to find them in a videogame or anime. For obvious reasons, many Japanese people think that the Ainu do not even exist, which had become extinct. Furthermore, those remaining Ainu are most likely descendants of the true Ainu.
