Not sure how I am still at #3. Was gone for several months before recently.
Converse with fellow players
Population will still be low if SEGA doesn't step up and so more than just promote NGS to people already playing the game.
Of course, the PC version would also need to launch without having gigantic hurdles for curious players to overcome.
In previous MMO games I have played, merges didn't really happen until the population was dreadfully low and absolutely needed it. Based on all the features and issues we have had in the short time this has been available, I am not confident that the team could merge two different economies together without breaking several things.
@Ashe-Kinsilla why? It is the only platform that game is available on that publically makes metrics available. Microsoft doesn't disclose this information anymore and SEGA doesn't disclose anything other than how many bots they ban.
Only in-game reference we have is the blacklist, which only allows a guestimation of the number of players in a single block at any given time.
You can say that is an opinion all you want after getting called out, but your writing does not support that statement.
Oh well, have a good one.
@Astral-Lettie if you are going to pass your opinion off as factual, I would like to see evidence that isn't based on speculation regarding that trading isn't an important feature to most.
The forums aren't much to go by, I posted a screenshot earlier that shows 5.6K averaged Steam players, which doesn't include MS platforms, and there are maybe 50 active for users on a regular basis?
You are preaching about opinions, so you should recognize that your conjecture is also an opinion.
@HarmlessSyan cultist is the best way to describe it. It is pretty the same of tribalism, except rather than revering the community, people revere the developer/publishers and never see them at fault for anything. (Other than ironically saying that All The Content is a lie if lolita bath scenes are excluded, but withholding an advertised paid feature is ok)
We can be fans of something without giving them a free pass to do whatever they want and inevitably lead to the failure of the frachise in specific regions of the world. I can see the narrative already. "This is why we didn't bring PSO2 to the West, it is doing horrible, so is NGS!"
Holding the developers of the games we like accountable and demanding their transparency will strengthen the performance of the franchise in the present and future. Keep giving them a free pass and justifying their shady practices and the future will be as bleak as PC launch day, where a community member had to fix developer issues to make the game playable.
Blaming the majority of the players for the very minority of individuals who may purchase meseta is ridiculously laughable. Then again, you said you wish Global didn't exist at all, so I am not sure why anyone should consider your input as credible.
@Ranmaru problem with that analogy is that it doesn't really work with premium due to the nature of it being a bundled service only.
Since their concern is RMT, they definitely won't give trading to everyone for free for x period of time and a single 100-150% normal triboost isn't equivalent to the 4+ weeks of not being able to trade with your significant others/friends.
An important thing to remember is that a lot of people try out new games with friends and if their primary purpose for premium was making it easier for them to play together, this minor inconvenience to "solo" players is a tremendous set-back. There was already a lot of fuss before PC launch about trading being paywalled and now it is missing altogether with no explanation/timeframe/transparency about what is going to happen with it.
