RE: Where are our Mark Capsules and 13* unit exchange?

50 more attack reeeeeallly doesn't change your damage all that much and I'm going to be brutally honest and say that spending a ton of money on a game doesn't make you a hardcore player, it makes you a mark and encourages predatory business practices like gacha in general.

Like today I just finished doing my stupid 'god unit' affix (guardian glare, absolute glare, crack V and veteran's resolve V and then transfer passing upwards adding capsules for mana reverie and aether factor, with a cheap and honestly unnecessary 80hp 5pp capsule) which added more than twice the amount mark augment would add. I still hit Masque for an almost unnoticeable amount of extra damage.

Sure there's satisfaction in seeing numbers go up and making something as optimized as possible (shit, I originally was going to be dumb as hell with said unit and go for a 5 slot with doom break III and eat through my very limited supply of 6s insurance), but in PSO2 it really isn't worth the real money cost and never has been.

RE: Primordial Darkness Drop Rates????

@BloodyKyona said in Primordial Darkness Drop Rates????:

First off, I resolved the issue in Divide (at least as much as I've done so far); my issue was trying to stun Exegul, which is not to be done solo or duo (Rafoie is Phantom's best shot and it's not good enough). Once I only set it into offensive by breaking the back diamond and went straight for weak point with Gimegid, it went down. The rest after 10 I have only done duo (so far cuz I've been busy), and my partner is certainly not at a high skill level. I intend to try and solo the higher ones at some point and find out for certain.

As for that video, well, okay, that's a top of the line player in the top 0.1% of the playerbase. I never claimed to be there. I'm certainly in the top 20%, though. I place my skill level at around 83 or so overall, some parts of the game are higher, some lower. I have literally carried Final Lament once or twice. One thing, though, that person's Ilgrants was doing about 36K per sparkle, mine gets to almost 34K. I really don't know how to get to 6700 TEC Pwr. Cras units wouldn't do it. Other than that, they are faster on casting than me by about 0.25-0.50 seconds per cast. They clearly have every timing memorized, something I'm not even capable of. If I could always hear the DING, I could get it every time, but when I get overloaded by effects that are much louder and brighter, my timing is thrown off by a half second or so. If there was a way to isolate the casting ding and mute all other sounds, I could be just as fast as in that video.

Holy crap just realized they are using a CONTROLLER?! I can barely play with a controller at all. That person must be the very top PSO2 player to do that well on controller.

What? You can crap out absolutely absurd damage with just a rivalate (hell, a trailblazer even) and a full set of trailblazer units alone if you know your class well enough.

While you definitely weren't the sole reason for that trigger to time out, you definitely aren't in the 'top 20%' of players, let alone carried final lament if you haven't gotten the muscle memory to fire off spells (alternatively, deal strings of perfect attacks without the guide ring) right as they fully charge =/

RE: Where are our Mark Capsules and 13* unit exchange?

Honestly the SG support scratch is even more of a cash grab with how quickly it can drain anyone of their SG while giving them basically nothing. The AC scratch isn't much better either mind you, especially since it still includes completely useless items in it.

Well, even less than nothing since NGS is on the horizon and will likely introduce new ways to exploit players utilize SG.

As for 13* units having no tradein, I agree. It always sucks vendoring some schvelles because you can't really make use of the stuff on them.

@IAMCRAIG said in Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.:

it's very clear which fresh finds update I'm talking about.

Whether I was pedantic or not, I honestly don't know which Fresh Finds outfit you are referring to and I wasn't about to trawl through every day of its recorded history from 30 Sep to 08 Dec (assuming it was within the date range where Episode 5 was the latest episode because spoiler alert I wasn't being pedantic).

I thought the most controversial showy outfits in this game were Sudsy Style (which was from an SG Shop bundle during open beta) and Catschief (which was from an AC scratch and turned out to replicate the wearer's skin colour ironically making it one of the most skin-covering outfits in the game anyway).

ped·ant /ˈpednt/ Learn to pronounce noun a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning.

@Miraglyth : Fresh Finds has nothing to do with episodes?

That was the very definition of it; what mattered was that there has been no lack of risque outfits that are barely anything at all.

But to satisfy you it was this outfit: https://i.imgur.com/HTDiiw7.jpg

I assumed people would know which one I was talking about from how risque it is, to the point that it almost was obnoxiously so (not to mention it made a constant clink as players ran around in it).

@Miraglyth No need to be a pedant when it's very clear which fresh finds update I'm talking about.

Also yes, smart inner is something that should have been given out long ago, though for anyone to say it's due to censorship needs to take their tinfoil hats off.

RE: Phantasy Star's core audience should not be anime fans with NGS - It's time for this to be a global franchise again not just one tailored for Japan

Yeah, it'd be nice for less focus on sexualized cosmetics (note: LESS, don't get your pitchforks out yet horny weebs). Even if sex sells, you can only go so far on that alone (or rather, softcore porn) before you actually need to diversify and innovate, otherwise things will stagnate and your playerbase will consist mostly of the handful of whales spamming lolicon SA's in the lobby with their hanger-ons.

But you might be saying "But isn't that where Sega makes most of their revenue from PSO2?", which is true, but at the same time it'd be fairly empty if those were the only people that played the game, and this game leans heavily on its social aspect with lobby actions and showing off ensembles you made.

This may be surprising to some, but not everyone thinks about or wants sex or sexy things in general 24/7, some people like making goofy outfits, while others enjoy playing mecha dressup. Some people like to look edgy, or cute in a non-sexual way. Some people just want to play the game and enjoy the mechanics.

These people might not spend as much money on the game, but they serve the vital purpose of playing the game and keeping the world from being empty. They stimulate the ingame markets and generally fill out the world. They are as much a part of the game as anything else and should be viewed as essential to its well-being.

But the thing is, if you cater too much to one group, others will lose interest and leave and affect the social aspect of the game negatively. Mind you I'm not talking about one or two people leaving, since that is something that happens every day in a game like this. I mean more like losing chunks of the playerbase over time, which of course also happens naturally as well over a game's lifespan, but those that leave due to naturally getting tired of a game and needing a break from it or whatever do tend to come back to check it out again and possibly start getting back into it. Those that drop a game because it is catering towards one group of players (in this case, the group that wants risque outfits for their female characters) tend to develop persistent, negative feelings towards it.

Overall it would be much healthier for PSO2 and NGS to maintain a fine balance between the types of cosmetics you can acquire in them and good for its playerbase as well. It isn't too late for it to correct course and continue maintaining a diverse playerbase.

RE: Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

"CENSORSHIP IS NEVER APPROPRIATE AND THIS GAME IS CENSORED TO ALL HELL TO REMOVE ANYTHING SEXUAL"

Sega: Releases multiple basewear that borderline let their characters be nude (see episode 5 fresh finds for one phenomenal example).

"WOW, THEY JUST WON'T STOP CENSORING STUFF"

Sega: Releases Bluesy Requiem outfit + poster

ANGRY FUMING

Or are you guys still going on about stuff like the slave series being changed to raven, the bathing scene with a 12 year old boy and two 15 year old girls, the scene where one of said 15 year old girls pervs out hard over 12 year old boy, etc.?

RE: Irritated with bonus scratch prizes lately

@Milk said in Irritated with bonus scratch prizes lately:

An entire culture isn’t embracing perverted body pillows or hanging these softcorn posters in their home. The “otaku” label in Japan has negative connotations for a reason.

This.

That said, it's fine to have them occasionally, but the game already has a colossal catalogue of skimpy and sexy women's clothing, we don't need to crank that to 11 and regularly get drawn images of characters in suggestive poses.

Do not get me wrong, it's fine for people to like and want to wear/have their character wear things like this, but at this point it just feels like the executives in charge of this game are worried that the game won't make money if they don't keep releasing sexually-charged paid cosmetics. The boob accessory was funny the first time it came out, but 3 (4?) versions of them is kind of overboard.

That said, I'd pay top dollar for a male bulge accessory with jiggle physics.

edit: Zarozian, in Japan Otaku are looked down upon heavily as socially-challenged man-children, akin to how other countries view incels or people screaming about censorship when a scene with 14 year olds bathing gets cut.

@ZENCHI-REBORN said in Easiest Way To Get 4Million In 8 minutes.:

Goob job posting this, can't wait for the market to explode after everyone starts dumping their half million excubes and everyone has too much meseta.

This is to help people with their last ditch efforts to get the last few cosmetics they want or the last few augments that they want on their gear to help them finish up what they need to do. = w=

New Genesis is almost here anyways so why not help the rest of the common folk out? o 3o

With the Cradle of Darkness UQ...all of you should have no problems getting all the EX-Cubes and 13-15 star weapons that you need to do this and become rich! NOW WE CAN BUY EVERYTHING THAT WE EVER WANTED AND SO MUCH MORE! O _O

With this I will make everyone in Ship-02 and all other ships rich! O 3O!

This happened on JP servers and is part of the reason why things inflated as much as they did.

It's also why suddenly one day most AC scratch items started shooting up to 20 million or higher as a base price on ship 2.

(also a lot of people have known about this for months and have done it when low on cash, myself included, just that now we're getting flooded with cubes)

RE: Cheap one shot mechanics are not good game design

Just realized OP meant the first phase where TPD breaks the platforms.

So yeah, you have plenty of time to cure bind before it even goes to slam a platform and even then, you can tell which one it's going to destroy ahead of time if you see it lifting an arm up and behind its head (though near the end of the second section of phase 1, it will destroy all the middle platforms with its eye tentacles, but generally that doesn't come until after a round of beating on the toilet demon's central eye, which doesn't bind everyone) or alternatively if you see a hand lowering down to a platform, then you'll know that one will be safe for sure.

If you don't use one already, I highly recommend getting an atomizer fanatics ring, they're a life-saver.
