I'd like to see someone from SEGA actually playing "the game"... Are we just chumps, or is there actually a game to play? We don't even have a shill lol.

forget "content"... why would i even create a party? a PARTY.
Surely the base requirement for an online MMO would be ppl creating parties together..
No? Fuck parties? Actually prevent ppl from making parties before an UQ for some reason? In turn make the whole idea of a party (IN AN MMO!) a waste of time? OK then. Why not. That seems like a good idea.
I should join an alliance to ... uhh.. wait, oh, there's nothing to do there. Joining an alliance does literally nothing. There's no reason to even join a PARTY for fuck's sake, let alone an alliance.. a PARTY. They literally removed every reason to play with your friends.
IT DOSENT MATTER BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING TO GRIND FOR
I miss the beacons.
I honestly doubt any of the SEGA staff actually plays the game. I challenge a staff member to "party" with me for their daily rock collecting. Let's go.
@El-Zenchi I..What? Did you even bother reading it? Up until June I've been a premium subscriber.
Don't mind him, he's just a delusional sega fanboy. He's all over these forums just ripping on anyone that doesn't love getting fleeced.
@El-Zenchi said in Genuine concerns about the game and its practices:
Too much writing for simply begging for free stuff
So, do you work for sega? Does your dad work there or something?
How many times have you been banned?
Greed will be their downfall if they don't provide something worth paying for.
I started playing base but the market makes me so angry, everything I feared about that Cradle nightmare came true. I'm angry at how they treated PSO2 and I'm angry about how NGS is doing right now. There's just no joy in playing anymore that I just log out again. Their scratches suck, I liked their PSO2 ones, I happily paid for each and every one and now there's not even anything worth buying. I don't understand how they can even ruin scratches of all things, it's their big money maker and they blew it.
I feel ya.
I want to support this battle system. It's awesome! I always bought premium, and would throw some bucks at the scratch if there was anything I liked. But I'm not paying premium just to collect rocks, and all the scratches are NGS-robot-clothes aesthetic (no-thanks) and mega-greedy scratch bonuses. That's the game to me right now.. just collecting rocks and wtf-are-they-serious? scratches in a ridiculous market.
Whoever greenlit that greed-survey should be sweating. Customers were already feeling kind of ripped off, but that survey just confirmed it for everyone.
I haven't played since they 'restocked' the seasonal shop (har-har), and I let my premium expire.
Took that money and bought FFXIV, currently lvl22. I much prefer the battle system in PSO2, but at least there's fuckin GAME to play with FFXIV.
@Reiven said in NGS Headline - July 27:
Unfortunately, they fumbled pretty spectacularly. Now they are going to have to compete with new games releasing while they have already had a rather disastrous launch, coupled with pretty sparse content having driven players away from the game. Sure, some may come back to take a look, but if they are invested in any of the other games releasing later in the year, they won't remain. It really makes me sad that Sega had a chance to expand the game so it wasn't as "niche", and just, did nothing with it.
I just want someone from Sega to address what the hell is going on.
A community manner, a GM, someone... The players are clearly being ignored and taken for granted. The cavalier attitude and blatant greed on display is offensive.
How can they honestly think this is ok?
@Anarchy-Marine From the abridged version of PSO2's history I was given by friends that played on the JP servers, Sega's higher ups (producers, executives, etc.) really don't know what they're doing most of the time.
To be fair, it's just one guy that they keep making the director of new projects.
God tier post. And real talk, another one of my friends quit just today. He told me to my face that he's done with the franchise.
I have two friends doing the same.
It really feels like Sega is giving us the middle finger. It's actually insulting. I love the battle system and how the game plays.. But it really seems like Sega doesn't care about the game AT ALL. They only care about the gacha and they literally told us that with their survey.
What. The. Fuck. Before this, they could kind of play dumb.. But not now. The mask has slipped with the recent survey.
After everyone expressing over and over again how disappointed they are with how poor the release was because it's nothing more than a basic tutorial.. The only communication we've directly received is "why won't you give us your money? Why won't you buy into our expensive gacha system?"
Why? Because there needs to be a proper GAME to play, for fucks sake. Dumping even more silly gacha on us instead of creating actual content just makes everyone feel worse for wasting their time on the "game" in the first place.
Does anyone at Sega actually play the game?? I'm serious. Any GMs reading this, do you actually play the game? Do you not realize how fucked up this is?
Where are the community managers? Oh, wait, I know why they don't have any... Because they would never be able to find someone willing to put their face on this bullshit. I mean, think about it... This is an MMO and there are no community managers. This is a tiny game (relatively speaking) and they can't find a single person to put their face in front of it. Not even for money. Nobody. Not one person.
We have global GMs and global reps. Someone needs to answer for this nonsense.
I really fail to see your logic here. So Gigantix and other models were done prior to release of the game, yet that somehow means they don't have time to make new models. There wasn't some big patch looming for an already up and running NGS forcing them to make due with what they had or risk pushing it back - as if people care if a patch needs extra time to polish. Seriously you using this "zero time" excuse on their behalf is lazy, they are the ones who set the deadlines here.
A game that has functioning base mechanics and no major game breaking bugs is what one would typically consider ready for open beta. Put out to help gather player feedback and assist with the testing process. You are the one accepting mediocrity here saying that bare bones system (not even a game) is somehow acceptable to put onto the market and expect people to start paying your hundreds or thousands of dollars through vanity, rng scratch tickets.
A jam packed roadmap that gets delayed a lot is not at all what I was referring to or expecting from Sega. I was saying that what we have is sparse and a indy dev studio could push out more than this on a lower budget. Again you are failing to see how little they are actually offering on such a long timeline compared to literally any other actively developed game on the market today that isn't also just a cash grab. Games that NGS must compete with to actually gain players, or at the very least stop losing them. Sega isn't a little studio, they have no excuse for this slow drip cadence other than to simply try to stretch the "game" out as long as they possible can so they can milk those who are willing to give them cash for Dress-up Barbie Phantasy Star Edition. We did all come here expecting an action adventure mmo right? Not to play scratchers all day with RL cash in hope to make our character pretty... right?
There is nothing inherently wrong with the questionnaire itself. It's simple Sega being completely tone-deaf to the current sentiment being expressed by their player base atm. This is a survey, that for PR purposes, should have followed a survey asking people if they were satisfied/dissatisfied with the game, what aspects, what they would like to see improved upon, the focus of future products, etc. But they didn't, they did the worst possible thing. They asked people who are largely unhappy with the current state of the game why they wont pay more money. And idgaf about players who were here for day 1 launch to now, as you point out most games see a dip, it's rare to see that uptick, esp for a niche mmo like this one. However, if you think that we aren't still losing players even now as I type this then you are blind to reality. This is not the time to be asking unhappy people to spend more, but how can we make things right? How can we move forward together to make this a better game given it's release in such an unfinished state.
This, over and over again. Great post.
But have you considered purchasing the start dash rappy pack though for $60+?
Jokes aside, yes, this is ridiculous. At the very minimum I expected them to restock since I've already cleaned it out (even buying the N-grinders). I figured it was the absolute LEAST they could do... I was wrong.
