Can we do the other F2P MMOs on steam next?
Well this thread has 14 pages and will probably be locked soon. Can we have someone else post another?
@Raif In that case, I'm sure the search feature would have served you well. But hindsight is 20/20.
Using the search feature? That is for kids.
I dont get why we have to go and on and on and on AGAIN....
Literally bait threads from what I can tell. We have several threads discussing these issues. It just makes PSO2 look bad from an outsider perspective. You go check the forums and see repeat threads of "Why you censor Sega?" and "Sega plz no censor". It is as if there is nothing else to discuss regarding the game. It always ends with a "Oh well censorship sucks we should suggest they remove it" which we have a whole form sub-section for and a very active thread already created.
For those curious how well that thread has done, after like 70+ pages a GM responded and said "We'll forward your feedback" and that was it.
Personally I blame what would be considered "build diversity" type things. Things like Mags/Skill trees/Sub-classes. If newer players don't look up guides, they immediately start messing up their mag stats / skill tree / picking an unviable sub. The general game is quite easy so they can sail through most content being "unviable" and if no one is mentioning their mistakes they will keep going until they are in harder content.
Should everything be viable? Probably. Is it really though? Eh... There will always be a meta so build diversity is one of those weird things that I like in theory but games struggle to do well.
I can understand why @SeriPSO2 wrote so much since it is the complex issue that it is against the TOS but SEGA doesn’t enforce that rule anymore so it is a yes and no answer.
They rarely enforced it at all. When everyone was making accounts using the same address over and over they surely knew.
Seems like a weird question to ask honestly. Then the whole
i understand. i was just wondering why people say proudly "I played a couple years on JP", while there's absolutely nothing to be proud of. it's like saying "i don't have a driver license but i'm a good driver".
Is this person saying that... They shouldn't be proud because they broke TOS? Cause I don't think most people are bragging they broke TOS when saying they played JP for a couple years.....
@SeriPSO2 i understand. i was just wondering why people say proudly "I played a couple years on JP", while there's absolutely nothing to be proud of. it's like saying "i don't have a driver license but i'm a good driver".
Why should they not be proud of it exactly....?
btw ayyyye fellow Tales fan
I'd say the same but post Vesperia the series has gone very downhill. Vesperia Definitive was my top game of 2019.
100% agree far as the series going downhill (minus Berseria I had fun with that one).
Graces,Xillia 1/2, Zestiria? Ew
The reason why topics keep appearing on this subject is because that many people perceive it as an issue. Let people bitch and ask questions and stop with the provocateur shit. If you're so above the topic then just don't reply to it and let it get buried.
Why not bump one of those other topics instead of creating another one? Why not search for the topic first to see if someone already answered your questions?
If the whole point is a suggestion of adding this content back, we already have a thread for that as well where it actually belongs.
When the account is literally an hour old and this is the first thing it posts..... C'mon it is pretty obvious at that point.
The very username is trolling lmao.
Ironic username = Trolling.
I don’t think Gamer’s a troll, I think people just have conflicting opinions.
Also I want to throw my hat in for “friend”, my auxiliary is my pal, not my employee. It’s cheesy, sure, but I hate handler.
Is true, some people just love this game a little too much to see anything negatively be said about it.
Handler just reminds me too much of MHW but at least they aren't calling me PARD so there is that.
We haven't even hit today's peak yet, so comparing the current ~5.8k to the all-time Steam peak is a bit unfair. PSO2 has been peaking at around 7k to 7.5k lately which is a drop on its release daily peaks of 16-20k but we are 3 months on now and between Bonus and Buster quests the gameplay loops of Episodes 4 and 5 haven't been as compelling as those of Episode 3.
Or as time-requiring, which was probably a conscious decision but does mean players don't need to play for as long every day so you'll find much of the drop-off is not from fewer players but from enduring players playing less which reduces the overall concurrent count on average.
The New Genesis announcement came around 2 weeks before the Steam release (didn't the New Genesis announcement come a few days before the Steam announcement itself?) so it's hard to gauge how that affected the overall player count since we don't have any pre-Steam numbers. But it does mean the gradual Steam decline wasn't due to NGS.
I mostly mention NGS since our alliance had a good chunk leave after playing steam a bit just due to the inevitable re-leveling once NGS drops and wanting to play other games in the meanwhile. Though it would be interesting to see how many we lost from Windows Store to Steam.
Looking at the gradual decline on Steam I have no hard evidence but can just throw a couple guesses out there. Since it was a "brand new" F2P global MMO on steam I didn't doubt the all time peak numbers would be decently high. Drop offs after this are expected since people test the waters for a bit then decide if they want off the ride or not. I think for an older game it holds up pretty well but compared to other F2P MMOs on steam with a more newish polish I could see how this game might turn some folks away. Episode 4 hit and censorship issues became a problem for some so they left (I wouldn't say this is a huge amount but might as well point it out before someone else does). Then just your average people going on hiatus due to other games and such which is normal. Losing steam over time due to repetitiveness. Even with new episode releases I don't think we will be going upwards past 10K again until NGS but I wouldn't mind being wrong (Console players included might also be pushing us closer to 10K or past it far as I know).
Though with all that said the game definitely isn't dying. Losing population? Sure but that is normal of any MMO (More so this one due to it's age). If anyone thinks these numbers are "dying" they never played a fighting game on steam.
See? Right on point.
Yeah, nice rebuttal there champ. Keep up the hard work in this very challenging game for you.
@Gamers-are-so-oppressed There was an old reddit post but it was a while back before the game released in NA. I'm asking those who found newer things. If I wanted to bait I'd come up with something better than this honestly.
Don't even bother with that guy, he made the forum account specifically to troll.
As if what I said was wrong? Shouldn't you be on the JP servers already?
