RE: FIX UPDATE: Just use PSO2 Tweaker... Avoid the headache.

@Pheonixind said in FIX UPDATE: Just use PSO2 Tweaker... Avoid the headache.:

I can confirm, as PSO2 gets deleted every time I restart my computer. I will be changing over to the tweeker as well. I am tired of downloading the game every time I want to play it, over and over again.

Just FYI - for updates, this still happens. I haven't played in a day, downloading recent update and even with Tweaker you're forced to pretty much re-download everything. Looks like there is no way around this. If someone knows a solve, let me know. I've managed to avoid restarting PC, but updates trigger this issue again.

I'm abit bummed. I installed it and everything and I played it when it finished installing. But the next day it didn't work. It would always tell me like something about the publisher before playing and I would always say yes. But I accidentally pressed no and now it wont even boot up or anything. I tried to uninstall and stuff and it wont work or it just takes forever 😞

Unfortunately this is a re-occuring problem with the Win10 Store version. I even encounter this. Some recommendations: try to avoid restarting your PC, make sure you have spare drive space for when it forces a reinstall (it should overwrite at install location - but phantom installations can occur so pay attention to drive space),and use the Tweaker app which resolve most, but not all, of the windows store app launcher issues.

RE: [PC] FIX HERE for "Failed to Download the latest version. Please wait and try again. [No.103]"

You got enough drive space? That usually pops up when you run out of space. Also, fair warning, when they push updates, it looks like it still downloads the entire client all over again. Just updated the launcher and now looks like I gotta wait 30 mins for the game to download again. It should overwrite the same location it is already at and not take any more space, but reports of multiple and phantom installs remain prevalent.

Seconded. And it would be even better to see more variety in new scratches. I don't think I can name a character creator that has successfully implemented the high top fade.

This made my day. Amen.

While I had zero installation/game issues, the lobby lag was enough to make me miserable. I bit the bullet and started using the tweaker over the weekend and even the concert area has 0 stuttering now. Returning to ship after an urgent quest? Feel free to wander lag free!!

Totally worth, and yes I also have the game installed on a separate SSD so you can find the pso2_bin directory in "program files" on whatever drive the user chose to install the game on initially.

--I think it's a good practice to only use your 'C: drive for the windows install and separate everything else on other drives. Makes everything a lot cleaner in the long run.--

All of this!

Hey Daigoji, how were you able to direct the PSO2 Tweaker to the already existing game? I cant seem to find the PSO2 Bin file.

The issue with the Windows Store is how it directly messes with your file permissions on the operating system level as a type of DRM. It is extremely convoluted and literally does not allow you to manage your own directories on your own PC.

"C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" is your default directory for all of your Windows Store apps. It's a hidden folder, so you need to enable the Hidden Items checkmark in order to see it. Everything in the folder has obfuscated names, so you won't be able to find the game under the normal name. You'll have to look for a folder that contains the "oxyna" word. It should be in the \WindowsApps\ Directory. There's also a \WindowsApps\MutableBackup\ directory where it will automatically save a backup of the entire game directory, clogging up unnecessary diskspace.

You may also find that you will not have access to do anything in the folders, in which case you need to change ownership of the directory to your own administrator account as opposed to the ThrustedInstaller account.

Hey Ghost, did you manage to get in?

Afro's aren't anime? Impossible.

That is why I qualified with "perms"... though I probably meant "straightened" or "gelled spikes".

In the JP version, afros were released. Can you please fast track this to the NA servers (as you did with face masks) so us POC players have options other than braids and anime perms?

Thank you!

so i installed my game i had the 106 bug and the 1813 bug aswell im outside of the US and i had just unistalled and reinstalled the game then i tried to open the game again after a couple days and it just doesn't work i have been trying to use all the tips i been seing here and nothing uninstalling reinstalling giving permission to the files reseting and repairing the game stayed there for hours and still wasn't finished i tried again still nothing tried desactivating windows defender and desactivating the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and still nothing does any one know something i could do besides this ?

Try using the NA version of PSO2 Tweaker - https://na.arks-layer.com/ This is a third party app however, so support beyond the website and discord is limited. You still may have to put in some frustrating work unfortunately, including doing some repairs through Tweaker, possibly reinstalling and having it fix your permissions, but hopefully this helps if the previously provided tips and SEGA recommendations aren't working for you.

Tweaker resolves the permissions issue. If people do not trust the batch powershell modification of permissions, you can do it manually by giving yourself admin access to the folder using file explorer.
