Also understand, that with the nature of how some of the grinds work (like with Zieg in the current JP build), it would mitigate how hard it is for people to obtain some of the best weapons and armor in the game. (though I know a lot of the required items are "un-tradeable") They have extensive requirements between having max grind weapons, catalysts, stones/ pyroxenes, etc. If you traded half of that, too many people would have potent items. I would say at this point, the availability of trade is as much a balance aspect as much as it is a convenient side-benefit of having premium.
I would honestly be more concerned with the ironing out of bugs and the presence of worthwhile, grind-able content. (Hence this thread)
Maybe it has to do with the strength of the knock-down effect as well? Like a Garongo roll versus the launch from Chrome Dragon's roar? I honestly never thought to test that stuff on the JP server or the NA...
Also, as far as Ive been able to tell, most dodge, block and parry weapon actions will cancel out of most animations. Obviously though, there are some Techs, PAs and items (without the proper skills/ rings) that lock you into at least a portion of the animation. As other posters have mentioned, it's mostly just a tinkering thing that you learn as you play different classes and weapons.
As far as the getting up from the ground thing, you could think of it like a penalty for missing the timing for the recovery. Makes sense, considering most of the game highly emphasizes the whole timing aspect.
I haven't seen anything referring to it, so I thought I would ask:
I mean, I still like the fact they took the concept of the timed 3-hit attack that you had in PSO Ep.1 & 2 and made it actually do more damage/ shorten reload time, etc. if you maintain that, even though you can button mash to attack in this game.
As for the offline mode, I think it was fun in PSO 1 & 2, but it made the most sense in PSU/ PSU: AotI with how dense the story was, mixed with the exploration aspects. In this, again I think it'd be fun, but doesn't seem to make as much sense to me. I think the only benefit would be not having to rely on internet connection to go through cutscenes and whatnot (huge problem I'm having atm).
Haven't similar issues occurred with previous iterations of PSO coming from East to West before? I feel like it's the same circumstance, just a different game. While I love that the game is playable on console now, I can't necessarily say I'm excited at yet another potential instance of:
Whether Open Beta or Soft Launch, it's still pretty easy to see something of a rough path ahead. Keep in mind, I'm saying this from the perspective of someone (similar to many of you, I'm sure) that has played EP. 1 & 2, BB, PSU/ PSU: AotI and PSO2 JP (from launch).
I just think more communication between JP/ NA and Devs/Players would do a world of good right now.
I'm actually having the same issues. I've tried anything I could find on here, as well as posts on the issue from the JP server in the past 8 years. Still no luck. I may have to put the game down until the local ordinates have expired >.>
