RE: Te/Fi help needed

Wand bonks still do competitive damage numbers on Te/Fi as far as I understood. The difference is now you can cast. Try to mix up your stuff with two spell rotations like Grants --> Illgrants if you aren't in a position to get in there and get more PP. Otherwise read whether the loss of DPS from using Grants is worth the reliability it gives you over using Illgrants.

It's not going to do absurd amounts of damage any way you run it. Te/Fi exchanges the Hu survivability with the ability to cast techs without a significant loss of DPS. Hell, someone may come along and correct me and tell me tech DPS is superior to wand bonks, but I know mob collecting and whacking is still the go-to for mobbing. Also your sub-pallete gets even more crowded as you can/should add the compound techniques. At least Zandion. No reason not to cast Zandion.

RE: RMT bots and users are being punished now!

@Jamesmor said in RMT bots and users are being punished now!:

@Milk nah probably some did report you however you can't be punished if you didn't do anything wrong

I mean... that’s not entirely true.

He’s probably not on a list though as long as his financials check out. People do whale. People do play the market. People do all sorts of weird stuff. I’d imagine they would use smarter methods in order to not inadvertently snare the consumers that make them the most money. If an account had a bunch of credit cards declined on it, or just a bunch of different cards buying scratch tickets might cause a few question marks. Selling stacks at low prices might cause an algorithm to pick up his account, but they would very likely want more than that. Unless their algorithm is suuuuper trash, which I doubt they are that incompetent.

RE: We need more Twitch streamers of Pso2 NA!

@RainGnyu said in We need more Twitch streamers of Pso2 NA!:

Really surprised this game isn’t streamed more because of the character creation. Best way to ask and answer questions about builds, augments and classes.

Well, then your only pulling from the native PSO2 audience, which is not how games get big on streaming. For instance: I’ve never played Dead by Daylight, but I have watched probably hundreds of hours of it. I recently purchased StarCraft 2, and that’s because watching it on streams made me excited to play the game. Never played an ounce of Fall Guys or Among Us, yet watch some of that on occasion.

PSO2 might make a moderately decent wind-down game for a streamer after a more intense game, or as background noise for an internet personality. Even then though it’s awkward alliance system and stuff doesn’t make it the perfect game for community building/establishment. It’s ok at it for sure, but it’s old, and lacking a full suite of features where personalities could park their audience.

It’s an old game, and it’s fundamentally designed for a casual 1-2 hour play session a few times a week or so. That’s fine.

RE: We need more Twitch streamers of Pso2 NA!

I don’t know how you make it interesting though.

The content is too repetitive. What makes a good streaming game is high stakes, uncertainty on what’s going to happen next, and a simple to understand system that’s easy on the eyes. PSO2 has basically no stakes, and the bosses/content throws out the same stuff each engagement. If you’ve seen one run of a UQ you’ve seen every run. If a character dies then at worst you reset and go again. It’s kinda mindless, and hence the reason people tend to get bored unless content is out on such a fast pace.

So the question is then how do you retain an audience? The real answer is you don’t. There’s a reason the more successful content creators are on places like Youtube. The PSO2 content loop is: content released, rapid period of exploring content, grinding loop of specific rewarding content begins, wait for new update begins. That’s fine for update videos or guides, but for streaming no one wants to watch the grind period. There’s no tension there.

RE: Traded golem weapon at Zieg, grind cap didn't transfer

@Gamers-are-so-oppressed said in Traded golem weapon at Zieg, grind cap didn't transfer:

I am sure Sega will compensate you accordingly. It is very rare for them to have bugs like this.

I'm starting to think I'm retarded.

If I fuse 5 tier 1 golems so their cap is 35, that cap should transfer to tier 2 even if I didn't grind the weapon to 35, right?

Yes, however you do need 6 weapons, not 5. 1 base one, then 5 fodders to increase the grind cap.

Also going to throw out some things that might be a problem. I have no idea how much experience you have with the grinding process, so might as well throw some suggestions out there:

They were the exact same weapon by the way right? Feeding 5 of the golem-class TMGs to a golem-class rod for instance wouldn’t raise the grind cap. You’d need 6 rods.

And you are checking the grind cap, not the current grind right? If your golem weapon was at +30 and had a grind cap of +35 trading to Zieg wouldn’t move the grind up to +35. You’d still have to feed the weapon more random junk to get it up to +35.

I was just speaking to someone in the lobby, and apparently a hacker is going round and can take your clothes and accessories right off you including stuff from SG scratch, this person had it happen to them

Well firstly accessories are no longer items once used so that alone makes that dude's claims a load of Rappy stool. Believe me, I played Digimon Masters, a game with a downright atrocious anticheat and dven it didn't have an exploit as bad as that. In all likeliness, the dude was meming with ya.

I mean... it wouldn’t be a first time for a PSO title...

RE: Wow! I really enjoyed episode 1,2,3!

I dunno. 2 and 3 were the only ones I cared about in any sort of way, and even then the Harukotan sections were questionable. There was some good drama with Luther and the characters I guess. 1 was really, really slow. The presentation was also really dry. In any case none of the episodes were good enough I’d tell someone to play PSO2 for the story, but for a while there an effort was made.

RE: Fellwyrm is terribly designed

@BronzeAgeBrain said in Fellwyrm is terribly designed:

My first problem is the same problem most big stuff has in this game, the camera and weak spots. Things like locking onto his head and therefore not being able to see his body or the death bubbles below you, or trying to lock onto the weak spots on his ankles and just picking up his feet. When things get big, force you to lock on to hit places, AND require you to watch carefully things have always been wonky. This boss is no exception. If you want me reading snap tells or eating dirt, please let me do that and not force my camera up his nose.

doing this fight a few times I found out that you should not aim in his head unless he is knocked out, unless you are using Summoner that their pets ignore all the body and hit the weakspot directly all other classes won't deal much damage in his head and like you said you can't see a thing while aiming there, also to deal with the other weak spots get closer aim there and use Hero mobility tricks to get away, remember that you can teleport using Talis

I used talis a lot for the fight. The mobility on the PA can be clutch in several parts like setting up a teleport to dodge when he goes into one of his drive by phases. The issue is it’s a lock on dependent weapon more so than something like the sword so you end up forced into the camera problems. In theory you could reduce a lot of that by maintaining altitude and going at it from there, but I’d have to try that out before saying it’s a good solution. Personally I use controller because these days prolonged WASD use makes my left hand cramp, but I assume if you do some direct aiming you could make things work nice.

RE: Fellwyrm is terribly designed

I'll be honest and say even as Hero I'm not enjoying it. That is at least not as much as some of the good/great bosses like Luther or second phase Mother.

My first problem is the same problem most big stuff has in this game, the camera and weak spots. Things like locking onto his head and therefore not being able to see his body or the death bubbles below you, or trying to lock onto the weak spots on his ankles and just picking up his feet. If you want me reading snap tells or eating dirt, please let me do that and not force my camera up his nose.

Second there are a few instances where you just die. His ground smash attack that kicks up debris is a prime example. If you get unlucky like I have it can and will one shot you if you get hit on the first attack as it can juggle you into multiple things. Same can happen when he rains down meteors where something gets you then in comes the meteor on the wakeup. Both of these are real questionable.

Other than that its more unremarkable to me than anything. The sword is a cool gimmick if a small one only having two attacks and a block. The flight phase is an annoying time sink along with the mobs at the start. The actual fight is meh. I wont miss it when its gone, although I'm glad it's kicked the abomination known as the Yamato out of rotation even if its not forever.
