RE: Global players and character design.

honestly only time i really notice people's characters are in lobby or in shopping district. I do see a lot of the premade general ones sure but they're almost always new players. Most the people that been around a bit it seems put a lot of time into their characters and whatever look they choose. I don't even want to attempt to count the number of hours I've spent in the salon tweaking one character or another just because something bothered me long enough. The crossbar slider can be confusing, have to choose the right options in the drop-down boxes and play around a bit with it, as sometimes it really doesn't change anything and other times it's a bit drastic. I don't think there's a slidebar I don't touch at least in one minor way or another when I make a character lol. Some are cosplay type characters based off other personas, others are original creations. But hanging around B-34 on Ship1 I see TONS of great character designs, both in originals and cosplays. Always fun to see someone make a new character or a new player get into the spirit of it and see what they come up with πŸ™‚ even if sometimes it's an eyesore =x at least they tried lol

RE: Paid for an extra character slot. Lost it when I deleted a character.

hrm... just to point out, the fresh finds does not actually warn you if you already own something. you have to manually go through all your own stuff and see if you have it. It doesn't have a pop up or text of any type to say if you already own something like it does if you look at something on the shops, scratch prize list, or from your inventory. I made the same mistake too not knowing i had an emote already because it didn't give the pop up. Though i didn't make a ticket for it, because you do at least get the warning that the purchase is permanent etc. at the very least, so didn't waste my time. Lesson learned, take the time and just go through my pages of emotes and outfits before purchase lol. (a way to organize fashion and emotes would be awesome btw)...

As for the character slot issue. It does warn you when you purchase the slot that it's not permanent. Most people I know do not read those little pop-up prompts though and just hit enter. I read things. I learned a long time ago, read everything. Most people now are so used to seeing the same exact prompts popup when they do things across various games they do not read them anymore (if they ever did in first place). So yes, a lot of people fall into that trap as it were. Not Sega's fault. While in a way I may not agree with it, because, I do like paying for a permanent character slot personally, as someone said, other than a race change, anything can be fixed on a character from within the game. Not every company is going to follow the same business models or purchase options. They shouldn't have to. They give you warning in clear wording upon purchase.

So while I can understand and sympathize to a point with players on this, as it's not an "industry norm" as it were... I'm honestly more annoyed at people in general not reading things. Everyone rushes everything these days, reads nothing, and then wants to complain when it bites them in the rear.

RE: Episode 4 story is disgusting

anyone else think this thread has been derailed into nothing more than a bickering contest?..... lol, but at least y'all keeping me entertained while the servers were down. Now that they're not I'm gonna go play the game for what it is... a game to provide entertainment. Y'all have fun trying to argue morals and religion and whatever other garbage ya want to shove down each others throats. Thanks for the entertainment in the meantime though πŸ˜„

RE: Cannot find PSO2 on Steam =_=

Honestly don't know why they region lock some places but not others, but general reasons that I know of include: copyright law variations from country to country sometimes conflict, the scratch tickets in some countries are actually considered an illegal form of gambling and are not permitted, isp issues with the internet from that country not being able to connect or being restricted itself by the countries own laws, possibly currency exchange issues even for the in-game purchases, etc. Those are the big factors I know of that contribute to such things. Other than that, couldn't tell ya. But it's similar to blu-rays that are also region locked. Can't take a blu-ray disc from the US and expect it to work in a blu-ray player in India as an example. Is it a great system? no, but it's what we're stuck with unfortunately, and I do feel bad for those players that do get locked out of a good game. I know there's sometimes ways to work around it, but those options are also semi-limited as well for various reasons.

RE: Introduce yourself!

just realized i never bothered to post in this...

Most people call me "Wolf" both IRL and on Discord. I have been playing MMO's since the late 90's starting with the original Everquest 1. Have played several (EQ, DAoC, Perfect World (2 different version), SW:ToR, Tera, WoW, and that's just a few of the many titles I've gone through).

Just a gamer in general, tabletop and PC... consoles aren't really my thing, only one I currently own is a PS3 that is capable of also playing some PS2 games (one of the first models). If it's sci-fi or fantasy, I will probably like it. Definitely a "weeb" and don't really care. I love my anime. Also studying Japanese with the intent of majoring in the language and literature focusing on the linguistics. Used to be conversationally fluent in German, but lack of use has caused me to lose most the vocabulary. Taking my time on studying though... because... Kanji... omfg Kanji.... I love it, but I hate it at the same time.

As for in PSO2, like my signature says, i definitely horde the fashion. My primary storage is more than half just outfits/outerwear and all the other customization's (basewear, hairstyles, accessories) are multiple pages. Also running 9 characters because I have to have one to main each class separately (plus play all the races and just have more characters to use all the fashion I have, so I don't feel like it's going to waste). Generally can be found on any one of my characters just lurking on B-69 on Ship 1 because some of the best conversations (or at least interesting ones) happen there. Occasionally throw my 2 cents out there but for most part, just read everyone else's chats and laugh. Character names are all ... well, that's a secret πŸ˜›

RE: any one lost interest in pso2 since they announced pso2 next gen?

the way i see it, meseta is the currency your character carries around.... AC and SG does not exist for them, only you as the player. So why would they be allowed to take their money 1000 years into the future? Might not even be the same currency at that point. So there's a storyline reason for it as well πŸ˜„ yes I just made that up, but it makes sense, no?

@IfrianMMO you're not wrong. happens in every online game that has a market of some kind. Works just like the real world, you get the haves and the have-nots with it usually being skewed to a small minority practically in control of the economy.

RE: What did Japanese players (and now we) do to deserve Battle Arena?

Honestly, I can't think of any pve based mmo type game to ever get pvp right. Not even WoW and I played on pvp servers there from launch until legion. So I never expect any type of pvp on them to be any good or balanced in any way shape or form. To expect such... idk, either you haven't played a lot of mmo's or clinging to a pipe dream that games will finally balance pve and pvp at the same time.

RE: Important PSA about linking steam accounts (and more)!

ya, unfortunately I tried everything I could to not have to redownload in order for it to work (MS version is working fine for me, I just kinda want the in-game cosmetic rewards, just because). Even tried the copy/paste routine to see if maybe it would see files there and just download what was needed for it to be configured to steam... ya... nope. So unfortunately if want to link accounts for whatever reason, it does require the dual install... which is just.... not cool. I know there had to have been an easier way to do this without forcing that upon people but, I'm not a coder, just a tech, so I don't know for sure what it would have taken. Still, I feel for those that just don't have the means to have it on there twice, though if didn't have a lot on your characters due to the launch issues and waiting for this, best just to start anew anyways. If you had invested a good chunk into your characters but were having problems, ya... wish I could've helped but unfortunately I tried a ton of different ways to bypass the 2nd download and couldn't get any of them to work 😞
