RE: The Cat Community

Surprised I'm not further up the list. Not that I particularly post a ton, but a lot of times it feels like there's a lot less users on the forums than that. A few of them probably were more prolific + just don't post anymore, though.

RE: Armada's action video thread

AI bugging out is always fun to see, in Seabed a few times I've had AI get stuck in large infinite loops because I'd be standing on a ledge they'd fall down, run away to find the stairs / ramp, and then as they ran up next to me they'd just fall in the same place again.

RE: Augmenting and Affixing

@Ryoga said in Augmenting and Affixing:

To me it looks like they came up with this system just to cash in with affix boosters and I can't imagine it even having that much of an impact on the sales as the cosmetics are the main draw of the scratches anyways. A shame as this replaced one of my favorite inventory upgrade systems. The slot units they used in PSO for gear upgrades would have worked perfectly fine here.

Dunno exactly how it worked in PSO, but I doubt it's just done for affix boosters. RNG is a great way to hide the true cost of something (along with being addictive in general), and the cost/grind of affixing exists to make people buy scratch tickets, so they can sell the fashion items for meseta to fund their affixing (even if the scratches didn't include affix boosters), because to make affix fodder items you have to buy a ton of stuff from the market (unless you just grind your eyeballs off yourself). It serves as a way to tie the fashion and optimization parts of the game together (+ to drive more people to sell on the markets and possibly buy premium), and make sure people are always buying/selling the gacha costume stuff even if they don't themselves want items from the specific ticket.

Which understandably sucks, but as a F2P game based around monetization through gacha and banking on FOMO behavior, it's understandable why they do it.

RE: Can anyone confirm these drops?

Have you tried checking the item logs of the ultimates? Probably a more surefire way than asking the few people who actually post here for such rare drops.

RE: accessories & new genesis

@T3H-YOSH33 said in accessories & new genesis:

Fashion brought over from Vanilla will use the Vanilla models - meaning no Finger Movements. If you want finger movements, you will have to rely off of the New Genesis models. However, that will be the best ting ever, seeing as New Genesis models come with more customizability than Vanilla ones - Neuman/Deuman options are merely parts that can be added on at creation. Additionally, items released for PSO2NGS will carry back all customization when playing Vanilla.

It's probably also worth clarifying on this, each "section" of your character is able to use either PSO2 or NGS models, but not mixing. Iirc the groups are hair, face, body(+clothes), accessories. So you can have NGS hair, a PSO2 face, NGS body, and PSO2 accessories, etc. Items which depend on each other (ex: clothes depend on the skeleton/body model) have to be chosen from the same game, but your character doesn't have to be "all PSO2" or "all NGS".

Accessories specifically should be usable regardless of which model you use, because they're self-contained models that just attach to specific points rather than being based on the player skeleton like actual clothes.

RE: ARKS LEAUGE FISHING!!??

@Milk said in ARKS LEAUGE FISHING!!??:

Is this worth going for if you don’t have drinks or food for gathering? I’ve got a lot of alts but not much else. I save my stamina drinks for weeklies.

You don't need drinks, but food will help a lot in getting the fish you're actually looking for instead of other random ones. If you don't have either, I guess "worth it" depends on how much time investment is worth SG for you, since churning through a bunch of alts gathering(to get fever) + then fishing a full bar will probably take a while.

Food basically just means more target fish which means more chances for a new max, but with a bunch of chars and no food you can probably at least get 4-10th place for the consolation prize.

RE: Mission Pass Season 12 Ugly Mixed Revival List

@Ryoga said in Mission Pass Season 12 Ugly Mixed Revival List:

IMO they should make better use of their Mission Badge Swap Shop and just offer the items from past MPs there.

Unless they end up doing mission badge swaps for affixes like in JP, this seems like a good idea for it, especially considering how little there seems to be to do with mission badges. Even if a single old item cost like 50 badges or something.

RE: Acquiring Link Code

By "link code" do you mean you installed it via Steam and it gives you the popup asking for a code to link accounts + tells you that if you don't do it you're stuck forever with your choice?

The purpose of the link code in Steam on startup is to connect a pre-existing MS Store PSO2 account to a Steam PSO2 account. If you never played the MS Store version, you can just ignore that and pretend it doesn't exist if you're playing on Steam. The MS Store version came out before the Steam version so it was basically a way to just make sure you could still access your old characters, but you can also use it to link an XBox PSO2 account to a Steam one.

If you installed it via the MS Store, there's an option to generate the code in the XBox/MS Store version login menus, but it's only useful if you also have a Steam install somewhere (which you haven't logged in with yet + can input the code). But it's widely advised to stay as far away from the MS Store version as possible because it has a lot of issues.

They rerun FF sometimes but, this might be over, who knows at this rate.

AFAIK, every time that FF has been on a 28 day cycle for the recommended items up until now, the final 14 days have been daily repeats of the first 14 days. So we should be able to see on Wednesday whether or not we're going to get a repeat cycle here again, and if we do, you should see it again in ~2 weeks.

FF's refreshed now, and it's the same as the FF two weeks ago, so anyone who missed an item they wanted will get another chance in the next two weeks.

RE: Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

I assume when most people talk about a toggle system, they just mean an option (defaulted on On) that will cause any player characters under the global-minimum height to be displayed as being global-minimum height locally on your screen, and if you have it set to Off you'll see characters at their actual height (and if you have it Off, the height slider UI allows you to choose those lower ranges while customizing your character). Which should be fairly simple to implement, as long as the code isn't messy as hell.

Regardless though, I don't think a toggle option's ever gonna get in (as easy as the above would be), because if it's seen as a problem they're just gonna shy away from it completely (like they are right now in Global) rather than making it opt-in. I only ever see the restriction being removed if they're convinced it isn't actually an issue they need to worry about.
