Upcoming XMas seasonal - do not try to split up for more spawns!

Posting this because we had a weird thing with Turkey Day seasonal where splitting up to get more spawns and hit the end faster was arguably optimal. Splitting for more spawns does NOT WORK in the Christmas seasonal and can actually be extremely detrimental. The quest is designed for everyone to contribute towards killing any enemy that is currently spawned in the instance (outside of Umbra, obviously!), especially due to the Ultra Hard health increases.

The reason is because the Christmas seasonal can only have 1 set of mob(s) spawned at a time. If there are things spawned, you should be fighting them -- not running around trying to spawn more things, as it will not work, nor will it make things go any faster. And again, things in this difficulty have a TON more life than before.

Wanted to get this out since I feel like pugs are very likely to end up splitting up at first, and may not realize that it's a bad thing. If you see someone doing this, please don't be a dick to them either if you want to tell them that they shouldn't, just give them the reasons without being rude.

If you want to see some example runs of this quest ahead of time, feel free to look up PSO2 Christmas on Ice 2019 runs on youtube. The rewards, layout, and format seem to match up 1 to 1 with what they've told us we're getting.

Thank you for the heads up! Anything else we should look out for? Optimal routes?

The map is literally just a loop. I think most people will probably opt to go counter clockwise (which is basically just moving forward from the start). It's extremely straightforward, thankfully.

I just saw your post on Reddit and thought to make sure it was on here too for more coverage. Thanks for the heads up it is much appreciated.

I just watched the Arks Hour thing so I’m pretty excited for this! Hopefully people know what to do for Mr. Umbra.

I will not spoil any content for me and watch/read that stuff until its here. I will just go there and learn it by playing the game.

I mean he’s already in game, he’s just Christmas themed now. A lot of players still try to give him a smack out on expeditions so I’m hoping for the best.

Ah ok,so nothing has changed gameplay-wise. I am confident that most players know what to do then.

@Scerms77 The numerous appearances Mr. Umbra has had will likely have honed in on the kind boss he is but I am definitely going to be anticipating that unless you are on Extra Hard/Ultra Hard you will likely find sessions that will fail whole encounters against him like in the regular game. The easiest way to spot him and to learn his fight is unironically via the Mesetan Shooter Casino minigame because you (and other players) risk punishment for failing his fight. It's extremely easy to pass and even easier to fail but without spoiling you on it it is very easy if you can follow the objective as it is written.

Also make sure to come on summoner to see if the Rose Skewer drops. It's one of the only all-class Harmonizers. (And it looks nice.)
