Am I the only one who doesn't care for Apprentice's Hyunal form's theme?

Hear me out., here.

Each version of the forms has a really neat soundtrack tied to them, and some are even dynamic, based on the fight. For example...

Elder:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ0haxnhTPE

His theme is kn own as Violent Dynasty. Sounds chaotic, sounds intense, and sounds like you're fighting one hell of a brute. That is basically what Elder is. It shows that Elder is all about strength and dominance through said strength, and putting you in a mindset of despair to set the mood.

Luther:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUkLsLV9Ruw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXug81Zb6fY

Majestic Dynasty and Imperial Dynasty are his themes. Starts with the former, and transitions into the latter. Has a very elegant, yet sinister mood to the whole thing, in both songs, and Imperial Dynasty gets intense, showing that Luther's not screwing around, anymore, usually opening this phase with his PP-depleting attack. It accentuates his thirst for knowledge, and the desire to know everything there is to know.

Gemini:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3GHdQ82sYs

Chaotic Dynasty. It has a tone of playfulness, but also a tone of evil, which fits Gemini wanting to play and play, not knowing about the fact that everything has its limits, breaking everything in the process. As their fight transitions into Dranble (Still like the name Dourumble personally), the music kicks up a bit, and the violins get REALLY intense, showing that they're truly looking to push you past your breaking point.

Now, those aside, we fall on Apprentice's theme.

I feel it takes the piss out of the fight, personally. I hear no evil undertones to the song, and it just seems upbeat. On top of that, at around 1:03, there's a line I can't unhear. It sounds like "I'M CALLING PIZZA HUT!" to me. It just sounds... too cheerful for a Hyunal, overall.

And that's my two cents. Are there any themes that sound... off for you, context-wise?

Context wise you have a point but you forgot something very essencial of the first Apprentice host... She was some kind of celebrity or royalty, so the tone of the song i guess is on syncro with her past self and the ego she have, but it need more meanicing tone on the rest of the song like in minute 2:30

But yeah its a lot of contrast when you hear the other hyunal songs

I pretty much hate it, it gave me the same feeling I had in ffxiv with Shiva’s theme. It’s not powerful enough and it doesn’t sound like you’re fighting a boss. I prefer Luther’s music out of all of them.

It definitely seems a bit strange, but it's also kind of understandable since Apprentice's hyunal/equivalent form didn't exist until Omega, so it's the only one that never got any time to shine as a boss of its own previously + they had to make something up from scratch, rather than having a track to base the theme off of. So I guess they just felt that it was better to base the new Apprentice track off of Omega themes, rather than try to make a new "falz-y" version (since even Apprentice in Mining Base: Ending didn't get her own theme iirc).

I am one of the few that like it for a weird reason.

@YagyuChan

My husband also likes it a lot so it’s got some fans out there! I just listen to Spotify for the fight so it doesn’t bother me.

"Apprentice's hyunal/equivalent form didn't exist until Omega" not technically correct, while it is true that said form doesn't exist in-game. It did however make an appearance in the Episode 0 Manga. (just a heads up)

In terms of the theme it took heavy influence from Omega into it, It should be noted though that the teams that worked on the previous episodes were different (cough EP4 team was fired). Omega Appregina https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp6UNZHdzXo

Elder had the hyped music as the first Falz to appear & was very hostile looking for fight given that fast pace song. they then added Omega elements to it. Falz Hyunal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ0haxnhTPE | Omega Hyunal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hfNULsU_WE

Gemini was wild as they acted like children so the theme reflected that while adding influence from Elder & Luther, the dread & frantic can be felt trying to target them constantly moving. Hmm.. not sure I can say the same about Gemini since it added a Jazzy twist. Falz Gemini https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5q1TifMqiU | Omega Falz Gemini https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD5ujePnDSQ

Gonna be honest I lost train of thought after listening to the themes, so Luther (Loser) gets no explanation. Falz Angel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-y-No93OTE | Omega Falz Angel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2Ml9sjYdvs

Didn't know that, that's kinda interesting. But yeah, long as it never showed up in-game to get its own music before it was shoved into Omega, my point's basically the same anyway.

Oh, yeah, thank you! I'll take number nine with hot sauce 😆

Very much did not happen, especially when EP4 brought them the biggest growth of player count. Don't spread false information like this.

Did you skip all the dialogues and lore of the game?

Because it seems like it's the case.

Apprentice's theme is perfect.

@Shirokami07 You'd be surprised how many people couldn't be bothered to watch the cutscenes, and just skip everything.

I like Apprentice's theme because I feel it makes sense for the character, it has some Egyptian or Arabian inspired music notes since both the Omega version of her and the version from the ARKS universe most often appear in is a desert area. And it also has part of the Lillipa Mining Base Defense UQ music in another part of it as well (which all those falzpawn are both on the planet we typically faced her on, and the UQ consists entirely of her insect minions).

Also I think the singing part of the theme makes sense because Dark Falz Apprentice itself has an obsession with beauty much like it's original host Aurora did before she became a Dark Falz. So it chose all female characters it considered attractive to be it's hosts. I think it's obsession with beauty is both why there's singing, and why the music isn't so intense as some other Omega/Dark Blast forms.

No. No, I didn't. I love Episode 5's content. The point is how Apprentice's theme doesn't encapsulate the malevolence of Dark Falz. In context, it's oddly fitting for something regarding what goes down, keeping from revealing spoilers.
