@Knight-Raime You will only need one gs, as long as it is still an atlas gs,you can transfer s4 vamp as many times as you want to other weapons with access to s4 ssa.

@SeriPSO2 Thank you very much.

I posted before I made a proper reply sorry... I was gathering quotes at the time to respond to the ones that I had my interest.

@Guilrel The best step for now would be for them to do an alliance run or to ask someone in the lobby for help. Most players I think would be fine with helping as long as they asked instead of being surprised. Even if they die a bit, I don't think it'd matter too much. I always get resed if I die and I do the same for others.

Sometimes I wonder how you're supposed to go about this other than doing this the normal way and directly ask them. But thanks to the bots, who knows if trying to recruit people the same way they do won't be seen as just as annoying. Well as long they know that people in the lobby are friendly to help them and go along with their playstyle as long as they ask nicely, then they may be less likely to go through future areas with NPCs.

I also think another tip would be, to not worry too much about the end boss of the Woods, if they end up facing it alone. I guess a good test of that would be to have them face the train boss in Tokyo in both the ARKs mission one and the Time Attack one, especially since the latter is stronger than the ARKs one. If they're able to beat it without dying like with every other boss before them, then hopefully that should be just enough for them to go to the Woods with the other farming players and complete the area alone.
However I guess the true Litmus test of this is to fight the Naverius or Lillipa Ultimate Quest end boss solo, since they're the same boss. Even though she appears in the story, fighting the Hardcore version of this boss is slightly weaker than the Ultimate Version of her. If they can beat that version of her by themselves, then they shouldn't have any worry about beating the Woods boss by themselves. They don't have to fight the enemies in the Ultimate Quest, they should just go straight to the end boss to see how they stack up against end bosses like this.

Extremely Hard Woods will definitely be the surprise wake up call for them if they haven't done so already for the Bingo Cards. But that's all the more reason to be slightly patient with them, especially if they're here to complete the area instead of grinding.

I think most are patient and understanding towards new players entering Enchanted Forest, warning them doesn't exactly mean it's to be toxic or gating them but rather so to them realize why it's not a good thing to bring AI partners into the area. But if warning become frequent, it turns into a problem.

This issue goes both ways, because sometimes the newbies doesn't care at all.

That's sadly the risk that normally comes with trying to warn people, you won't know if they'll listen because they like being helped or not because they get defensive when told on how they should play. Which is why it's pretty hard on both sides. Especially if said player has always brought NPC Allies for every exploration before this.

I only went into Enchanted once on XH and I wasn't dropping regular adds fast enough when dealing with a boss and eventually got overwhelmed even when other players were near by. This is the opposite of my experience from doing regular ultimate quests where I went to train myself as a Hero.

Frankly I don't know if this is because my gear isn't up to snuff or if it's really just because this is how things are going to be for all MPA content now since i've heard end of EP5/all of EP6 are stupidly spongy enemies.

(I'm a level 90 hero with max grinded stella walls, max grinded Val farder, and max grinded Fornis TMG's/Talis.)

It's because UQ nab/lili/amdu were EP3 contents, so at the time of its release, weapons/units/affix were only hitting 900~1.1k base + 0~120 affixed attack on average depending on the weapon-type with only 12* being highest. But since EN had NT versions, affixes and 13* with strong weapon potentials which surpassed all that, those contents definitely was felt much easier. The struggle was almost similar to that of Enchanted Forest.

But what XH Enchanted show was how high the difficulty ceiling would be for the average player for any challenging content at the time of their release.

Val is lowest denominator (it's weaker than Schvelle/Jutus/Lumiere) for people to run Enchanted but if you want to kill things much faster, an Atlas would be much more efficient due to the higher base atk that makes the ssa slots (if they are dps oriented). Even Nem/Slave does better than your Val if you cannot fully optimize the ssa slots since Val has lower base/power% than those two series.

I think I understand why not so book smart protagonist head's started to smoke, like Gon from Hunter X Hunter, whenever a character starts explaining technical things to them but they have a hard time understand (especially when I read the Final Fantasy conversations and weapon convos past this post).
Anyway, I guess that despite being slightly the same as Ultimate Quests the difference between them, was the availability of the gear when they're released at the time and how you can get them. But just like with Ultimate Quests, the Bewtiched Woods is more about how you fight in the end and having good gear just gives you a better fighting chance.

@Riesz said in Please be Considerate to Casual Players in the Bewitched Woods Exploration Quests (at the very least until the end of November):

Ok I'm going to talk about two separate things here since people brought up topics where both will be relevant.

For one thing I think it should depend on the situation to whether you have the right to complain about the person bringing an npc or not. If they were there first, and were doing their own thing, just killing enough enemies to get an S rank then going to the solo area and killing the boss, then I don't think you should be complaining about it. However if they bring them to an already ongoing expedition to this area, and expect to just hang around and leech drops off you all day then yeah I definitely think you can complain about it. (Also just because this is also relevant, I'll just add that I don't understand why people were complaining about this for expeditions pre Ep4 as well, for the EP1-3 expeditions, it was absolutely not a big deal if people bring npcs there, in fact you should bring npcs for those areas, that's why there's titles for bringing each one with you for 100 quests).

In terms of usefulness for npc partners, yeah regular npcs won't do much of anything in this area, so it would be much more useful to only bring the friend avatars of friends with powerful gear on their characters. The partner card npcs would be doing virtually no damage and probably dying a lot in this area though. So if you were bringing them to help kill the enemies, or just for the triboost it would be much better to bring a strong friend avatar.

I mostly agree with this, especially if the NPCs the casual brings are Allies rather than Player Avatars. Even though Player Avatars are more powerful than Allies, it really does still depend on what exactly are they doing in the area with these NPCs. The best way I think that one can figure out whether or not if the player with NPCs are here to farm or not is to see how long they are staying the area by the number of cycles you're going through. If they are still there by the time you start your 2nd or 3rd cycle, mostly the third - remember, I'm asking you to be patient with them, they may be "breaking off with the group" to actually explore the area rather than grind - then it may be the time to ask them to leave. However if they've been hanging around you for an entire cycle and didn't leave when you start the next one, that's also a time to call them out for having NPCs.

I'm sure there are other ways to tell, but most of the time the Casuals or people who really like NPCs are just there to complete the area rather than grind. I can also vouch for the strong Player Avatars since they helped killed and finished off the Ultimate Quest end boss while I was trying to find a safe spot to heal myself.

I’m pretty casual myself but it’s because of that I’m not comfortable leveling in the spooky forest. Players with a ton of NPCs isn’t a good replacement for a map full of players, I struggle to take down bosses and it feels like no one is around. I know I should just bring my own real party for an easier time but it feels like the map should have everyone working towards a common goal. I always find myself alone in a “full” map. Even if it’s faster leveling, I don’t like that so I level someplace else.

My problem is I'm working with glass cannon gear, that needs serious replacement by Etoile and the 100 level cap.

Thus one slip up with the tessellation, and I'm dead. lol

I honestly didn't have a problem with it, since my low grade gear makes close quarters a bit dicey.

I have autochat on, and am aware of my poor gear so I don't really see the correlation.

The AI for Friend Avatars is significantly flawed to the point that the AIs will literally stand still within 3 seconds if you can't land a hit.

It's a flaw of the game, and it takes time to workaround in a way that will work.

(Typically I have to dodge the castle for a few minutes and then hit the arms as they're exposed.)

Solo via AI party can be done, it's just very painful. Especially with my gear.

Yeah it's bad, but I can work around it as mid DPS with Buffs/Heals.

You can literally upgrade all that gear for the worth of 30 minutes farming green containers in a free exploration.

There's no such thing as "Mid DPS".

In PSO2. You either deal decent / good damage or you're a full leech unless you're a good Techter.

AI isn't flawed, it's just not supposed to be as good as real players. Although some players are so SO bad that they're better than them.

It really amazes me how you got to 82 with THAT on. I have about 50% more ATK stat than you wearing a 1* weapon.

well then people consider me bad then because I do have some lines in auto chat not that many to not be annoying still I can hold up pretty well against the bosses in max difficulty
