I have been gathering the required materials to get the Lumiere Lamina 14 star weapon from the Zig exchange. When I choose to exchange the materials for the 14 star weapon, the option at the bottom says "Select Base Weapon". Does that mean that I get to choose which of the 3 weapons the Lumiere Lamina will inherit it's stat boosts, element, etc. from? And if not, what does it mean?

Basically, yes. Grind level, augments, element type and value will be carried over.

Yes. Read what Lumiere takes when you create it, and the base weapon is what it takes that from.
