People get too absorbed in feeling persecuted to look at the bigger picture with these things.

I see what you did there.

There's no hidden meaning, but I'm interested to know what you think I meant lol

While that is understood this is one of the many ways we are trying to draw attention to the question at hand.

It's annoying people because it already has everyone's attention. Changes have been implemented over much less because all they needed was a GM to pass the suggestion along. The GMs have already done that in these threads multiple times now, but it's never enough. People are just getting tired of it, regardless of their stance on the changes.

The problem here is that several of them have already declared, in previous threads, that they will keep opening them until they get what they want.

They have already said that if SEGA/Microsoft say "No" to their "suggestion" then they will keep "fighting" and making these threads until they change their minds, apparently spurred by the fact that after several years and a declining business model, Elin Online, sorry, i mean, Tera online has decided to uncensor the Elin (as they are 90% of their revenue).

So they basically believe and assume that they can brute force-whine any change they want, and thus their current behaviour.

Also I would stop if they would issue an official response on it and I don't go back on my promises. Even if they said it is for protection reasons I might not agree with it but I wouldn't complain anymore since I have the reason. Also I appreciate the GMs passing it along but a response should be issued otherwise people will continue and that is not my fault it is what they believe in.

But the thing is, that has already happened.

They have not answered to the "feedback" and they have added MORE censorship to the game since the complaint was first passed on, exactly what do you think that means?

It´s not brain science or rocket surgery.

That cannot be counted as an official response even if they censor the entire game it is not talking to the community.

Yes, because Microsoft and Sega have a good record of "Talking to the community" on their complaints since the betas unless it´s "good news", do they not?

Face it, them ignoring your complaint is the same as saying no, that´s how they have behaved since PSO2NA became a thing, and no, i do not agree with this behavor either, but it is what it is.

So using something that is well known as an excuse to keep flooding the forums is ridiculous.

Well Microsoft has nothing to do with the game besides funding it and it is SEGA of Japan that must address this. I will still hold out for an official response because this is not one since we must wait for Japan to read the feedback and keep providing it since more and more people join every day to express their feelings on this very topic. I do not dictate the actions of these people and if they want they could revive such a thread if they wanted since there is no rule against it since it was already a thread anyways unless said thread was locked.

Since Microsoft is the publisher i am pretty much sure they have plenty to say on what content they publish in the West.

Yes, Japan is obviously the one who MAKES the changes but obviously Microsoft has a say and an input on which changes happen and why they happen, including the differing monetization etc.

Microsoft is the one legally responsible for the release so obviously all kinds of censorship and the lack of has a lot to do with them.

Last time I checked SEGA is the developer and Publisher.

Capture2.PNG Capture3.PNG

Microsoft provides the servers and publishes the game in the West, they also hold the rights in the West, what Steam says is basically irrelevant and it´s not like it´s the first time they are wrong.

Feel free to ask the staff though.

Show me the evidence to this cause even the MS store says SEGA CORPORATION as the publisher.

The only consolation is that censorship and Western adaptation is unstoppable and inevitable in the industry.

What we are witnessing are the last few whimpers of a group of people who cannot adapt and that seem to be stuck and looped in the 90´s and early 00´s and that scream "SJW" and "PC" and "Pandering" to a world that is fast leaving them behind.

Used to ruling the Anime and Videogame communities, they have not noticed how the rug has been pulled from beneath their feet, and they happily and lazily shout the word "minority" to groups and currents of thought that overwhelmingly surpass them in number, but i guess their lull is positive, for while they stick to complaining in game forums, the actual fight is fought elsewhere, in schools, in the news, in the media and other places of social import.

Even in Japan they are starting to have conversations about what should and should not be allowed, and doing the first few tentative attempts at media regulation, so it is going to be amusing when the faucet of unbridled lewds has it´s stream progressively reduced and eventually stopped.

The next 10 years are going to be quite amusing , as they are slowly but surely forced to open their eyes and accept that the world has left them behind and that it is them, who are a pre-judged minority, and not the rest of society.

If I ever learned from many other things society has tried to wipe out it will never completely be wiped out and there will always be someone there to stand for what they believe in even if they don't succeed. Free speech is something that can never be taken away without backlash.

The thing is, at this point they deserve bans.

How many threads about this very same topic have already been closed?

Under this logic I think it'd be fair for the people who have posted deliberately charged posts with the intention of causing topics they dislike to be locked to be banned as well.

It goes without saying that many of these topics have been created with an explicit call for civil discussion and certain ill-meaning players have done everything in their power to derail that effort with rudeness and accusations.

It's not the topics or the subject that is closed, but those people purposefully sparking arguments with closure as their goal. What message does rewarding them rather than punishing them really send?

the loli brigade

It´s pathetic and creepy beyond description.

These are very close to being a case in point. Lines like this have no meritorious place in any civil discussion, no matter how long you feel it has dragged on. What is your purpose for typing them other than to attempt to get another topic locked?

@IfrianMMO said in If they lift the censorship and height restriction I will quit the game!:

Do you really believe that after 50 or 70 of these threads, the moderation staff has not already sent the feedback to the relevant parties, just like they report every other feedback faithfully?

It's hard to say. The GMs are pretty clear about when they do report feedback, after all. I haven't submitted any tickets about content removal because it's not that important to me, but I did submit tickets about other matters and it's been pretty clear when they have and have not escalated things.

For instance, when mission pass season 1 was given a tragically unfair revival that forced PC players to choose which half of its content they had to sacrifice for the only time in the history of mission pass. The ticket I sent in about that received no response for a month, and when it did, it was pretty much automated:

We apologize for the delay with our reply. We would like to know if you are still experiencing this issue. If so, please let us know and we will try and assist you further with this issue.

Am I supposed to believe this was escalated? I don't. So it's a pretty straightforward conclusion that after "50 or 70" posts without any of the usual GM confirmations about escalating this, it probably hasn't been. Honestly such a message would go a long way to reassuring players their concerns are being taken into consideration so for this much opportunity to do so to have been passed up feels rather telling.

The one thing I will agree on here is that this topic should be locked, because it started with an argumentative title and opening post and unlike some of the campaigning or strawpoll topics it was clearly not calling for civility in the first place.

Most of those people that have explicitly stated their goal is to get topics locked have been punished as far as I'm aware. Same with those that have openly baited or taunted people. The real problem is that most threads just get derailed, even without any disagreements, and someone eventually hits a nerve so the topic spirals out of control until it's locked. The same group of people (myself included) create every topic and post in it, so this happens regardless of who OP is. Creating more topics isn't going to solve that problem, or move the process with Sega along any faster.

I've commented on the accusations before, but it really goes both ways. When you have users openly saying "I like shota/loli and want a shota/loli" over and over, they're not exactly discouraging any of those accusations. I've tried telling them how cause and effect works with that, but no one is ever receptive to it or willing to improve how they word those things, so they're just as responsible imo.

I sure miss the PSO universe and community from 2000 to 2005.

Back then, as we discussed the various rumors over how to break the seal on the SEALED J SWORD to obtain the legendary TSUMIKIRI J SWORD, and we laughed at how much HUmars sucked in EP1&2 compared to 1.0, and we discussed strategies on how to beat CHALLENGE MODE and which edgy name we were going to give to our customized weapon, or we cried over CALUS and Elly Person, or fought over whether it was true that you could meet Rico in the garden after killing Dark Falz, i never imagined that one day, the most important discussion of PSO would be:

"We have a right to make lewd lolis and watch a shower scene in which two teens force a shower into a little kid, who ends up groping them, down with the censorship"

It is not about being emotional but how the game brings out the emotions! It is about Your personal experience not someone else’s personal experience.

Things change, I feel it's actually you the one being left behind. Pushing your moral beliefs on others does not make you justified or right. And shortly after accusing everyone who doesn't agree with you a "loli lover" isn't helping your case. If the bathing scene alarms you that much, and considering this is normal in Japan, why are you playing a Japanese game?

I think you mistake "This is normal in Japan" with "This is a trope in a very specific sub-genre of Anime"

And i think we all know what non-otaku believe of Otaku, even in Japan.

Also, my "Moral beliefs" (Aka, it´s not okay to lewd minors or depict minor-looking characters in inappropriate scenarios) is pretty much shared by the majority of society.

Oh, and the law, in many western countries.

I'm half Japanese, I've lived over half my life there. Bathing is a deeply rooted part of Japanese history, culture and society. Family members bathe together, especially siblings. This is almost never viewed as erotic or perverted. The scene was little more than an embarrassing moment. If you're somehow able to twist that into some vague form of pornography, it's not the scene that has the problem.

gotta jump in here...ive known about "hot spring popularity" in japan before i ever got in touch with anime (first one being dragonball) that was shown in older japanese movies as well....cant be "an anime thing"...family and friends hotspring bathing is a common thing ... like going to sauna for us

Maybe it's just me nitpicking, but we're not technically playing a Japanese game. It's made in Japan of course, but we're playing the version localized for a global audience that lacks the scene. That would only really make sense if we were playing JP and talking about why the scene should be removed. The flip side of the argument makes more sense in this case: if it's that important for the scene to be in the game, why play the version that removes it?

@ApollosAmour Should we apply your logic to Anime then?

Edit 1: should anime be censored in the same way?

Edit 2: Because I don't think it should.
