Poll: Would you like to have character height restrictions restored?

@Miraglyth Kohri's involvement was more due to the situation as Hitsugi needed help sneaking Al into the bath without anyone else seeing. Overall, Kohri's involvement is due her needing help with the situation; as Hitsugu was just a high school student before finding herself responsible for Al suddenly.

It is quite telling, that this level of outrage only ever happens when they censor lolis&co and not when other types of censorship happen.

Are you for real right now? With all the outrage over the Raven renaming going on as we speak? Seriously?

I would argue that he's absolutely right. People are definitely raging over the Raven change, but I don't think any other topic besides the height cap and the EP4 content has caused this amount of threads to be created and then locked, GM intervention, or bans to be doled out (including probably the first permaban on the forum). I'd definitely say that this amount of rage, which has been persistent, only happens when these topics emerge.

and i am pretty much sure Kohri urging him to keep doing it

She does not.

Yet again, this is not a defense. I think Hitsugi immediately following up with criticism of a lacking resistance (her wording) and while we're here your character optionally calling out Xiera for wanting to watch in the first place are the game poorly attempting to excuse matters by saying "Hey we know this is somewhat wrong!"

But still, you need to stop with these misleading descriptions. There is a case to be made for these scenes being unnecessary (way moreso than other actually useful story scenes Global and I understand even JP have also lost with the overstepping simplification of Episodes 1-3) and I do feel loaded inaccurate descriptions of stuff that is removed is harming the credibility of that case more than it is helping.

My impression is that she urged it as well, going by her actions. She doesn't pull away and argues that Al needs to learn somehow iirc. This of course following the previous scene where she gets excited over their sweat being on the bed and asks indirectly if they've had sex.

But I absolutely agree that the scenes have enough reason to be cut as is. We don't need to over-exaggerate any content.

@ApollosAmour Those are also the only topics with so many people pushing against them. You'll notice that basically no one argues against getting the actual translation errors fixed, or getting the crafting shop back. Not many people argued against getting the other sources of SG income in either. They're also the only topics where the opposition immediately comes in swinging with personal insults.

@AiC-L Hence, being the only source for that amount of rage.

@ApollosAmour I was more addressing the entire comment chain. Probably should have quoted. It's only 'telling' that there's outrage in that no one cares to protest the other topics as much. They just drop off the board due to no engagement other than a bunch of +1s. People have even forgot that those topics existed, as shown by the fact that there's people stating now that localization name changes and enemy/mission/OT removal were never complained about. Hell I'm still pissed that we lost access to the all class OT katana that comes with Morning Mistreaver. That's an active gamechanger, compared to missing out on camos, titles, word choice, and content that's one-and-done for most people!

@AiC-L No prob. I think it's because people get so personally invested in the topic of the censorship. Like they take it to heart instead of being upset at the lack of content itself.

Speaking of polls, there was a suggestion for an in-game poll: https://forum.pso2.com/topic/7655/in-game-polling-system

I do feel that this idea should be looked at. The poll can cover more than just censorship, but also things like PSO2es, any other missing things like OT weapons, TD2, etc., feedback on current and previous events, and so on.

Fate/Grand Order actually does a survey every year around the game's anniversary to gather valuable feedback. Despite having some of the worst gacha rates on the market, it does incredibly well, being one of the most popular gacha games to date, no small in how they know they only made it this far due to the fans (they had a really rough first year) and how much they take into account fan feedback. So I know how well a survey can work. They even give out rewards for taking the time to do it, as to incentivize people into completing it.

Bro the height restriction exists so you can't go running around cosplaying your loli waifu.

That said, why don't you people just design an aux to be your loli companion?

So maybe she should be standing around outside to keep an eye out? How was her presence in the scene as was even trying to help? And to be honest this is a rhetorical question, it's pretty clear that was a fanservice scene people aren't meant to think too much about.

Irrelevant. "Only ever" doesn't mean "Only ever, but also this sometimes, and once every so often this...". The point is to say that players have an agenda for complaining because they only ever complain when the subject is one thing. The existence of other unrelated things, especially when they are boiling over as we speak, punches a huge hole in that trail of thought.

And since the sentence was used about media in general, it should be pointed out that many other kinds of censorship have invited controversy, from reducing skin showing even on non-minor characters (PSO2 also does this, and yes people have complained about that too), to removing references of sexualisation between non-minor characters, to removing matters of cultural or national sensitivity, to the obvious reduction of blood or other violence effects.

So to say outrage is only ever about any one thing comes across as quite daft, in my opinion at least.

Yeah, people saying they found "gods be operative" to be amateurish was never a thing... not at all...

or getting the crafting shop back.

Yeah. Okay.

Um... what? As in casino and battle arena? Don't you have it backwards? Why would the restoration of SG sources JP had that we didn't be censorship? If anything it was the other way around and that isn't really censorship so much as content just not having been added yet. And it really doesn't need to be said that yes people very much complained in droves that we didn't have those already in place when SG scratch landed. Boy howdy did they...

@Miraglyth She was the one to check the bath to make sure no one was already in it. And by that point she probably wanted a bath herself. Sure fan service is part of the meta reason, but the argument against that I was given was that Al was the subject of sexual harassment/abuse, which I cannot see this scene being a case of.

@Miraglyth You're reading it backwards. There's no pushback against getting that stuff fixed. Basically everything in those threads was a +1.

I'm sure either she or Hitsugi can wait ten minutes.

To be honest when I first heard about this scene I honestly expected Hitsugi would have tried to stop Kohri and Al being there at the same time, given how creepy she had been in previous scenes (and after I had, even the start of that scene!). I just find it difficult to accept faithful characterisation as an explanation when that should instead bring its own problems that were ignored in the name of fanservice.

So, uh... what's your point? If everyone agrees it cannot be an example of a controversy at all.

Rather than a reply, I have a fresh subsection. I've just seen the story scene "Ready to Explode", which is the second substory event in Chapter 8. Without trying to spoil too much, it explains the previous involvement of another character during Episode 4 was caused by events that took place in the first deleted scene. To any player not aware of this scene, they are going to be very confused about what Xiera is talking about at one point.

Now this makes things a little more interesting. Sega can't just remove this substory event too, at least not without giving the people who are complaining about story significance a much more substantial point to argue with. And if they leave it in they're going to ensure everyone who doesn't even know about the deleted scene continues to be confused. That's... kind of a no-win situation.

@Miraglyth Not going to lie, I was surprised that scene made it in considering how it references the first bath scene.

@Miraglyth That's... my point. Everyone agreed, so saying that it's 'telling' that there's no controversy in the other ones like it's some sort of win against the people who want content restored doesn't make sense. The reason that there's a controversy isn't on the people against content removal; it's on the people who decided it would be a good thing to start off by attacking everyone.
