@SleeprunnerInc and @Liam-J-McAdam this really isnt the place for that discussion. I understand the points youre making but thats more suited for dms. Not this suggestion

It's just a general observation that I started thinking about.

I read on another thread that the alternative of having a toggle would not be accepted by those who want censor removed which was a ridiculous claim since we would be all fine with having an option to toggle it.

The toggle option is by far the best option we have and could be fine tuned if need be.

I agree. I cant see why there'd be pushback against it. But i hope this suggestion captures more eyes

@XenoBladeX37645 Definately.

And as someone said before, we could alternatively just have some ships where censorship doesn't apply at all and some ships that have SA disabled and height etc locked or removed.

This way you won't have people going to another ship and trolling using SA and yelling stuff there.

Thats an interesting suggestion but as far as I know dont people lose meseta n such when swapping ships?

@XenoBladeX37645 They lose anything not in their character storage or inventory.

I kind of doubt that SEGA would ever bother with a toggle rather than just going one way or the other, but it might still be an interesting thing to see anyway.

I don't really see the point of changing non-explicit bath scenes that show up in plenty of anime/manga though to be more family-friendly, when I can be sitting in the lobby waiting for an UQ and just get hit with highly detailed uncensored symbol art of some character's privates instead. Even if such things are technically against the ToS, symbol art is infinitely more potentially harmful to the innocent population SEGA seems to be trying to save than scenes that ultimately show nothing. The amount of porn I saw at concerts during the PC launch from symbol arts? Whew. Unbelievable.

I have always argued that PSO2 censorship is bad applied. If they had only censored Symbol Arts it would have made more sense. Instead they censored things that angered fans and many other people in general. A toggle would seriously be the only truly peaceful solution.

Regarding a Ship totally uncensored, I think is not a good solution, because in reality, the censorship is client-side, not server-side. In addition, to have this solution, they should still update the client with new code.

Having an uncensored Ship would be like declaring to the world that there is freedom there. The other Ships would empty. However, compared to the various toggles, the uncensored Ship is easier to code.

By now most users have created their own account in Ship 1-2-3-4. To move to uncensored 5 you would have to pay, SEGA would make a lot of extra money if they really did it.

Could it work like a shared ship, or an improved shared ship where anyone can visit an play together before returning to their home ship? Moreover, could shared ship play be done between NA and JP servers, so one could live in one's preferred "culturization" but still interact with the other? Visit the JP shared ship for potentially unavailable in NA content, or the NA shared ship to play with friends based on the localized servers?

It could theoretically but probably not feasible, too technically difficult.

Alternatively SEGA could man up and stop censoring their Western releases. That ship has probably sailed for PSO2 Global but they could start with PSO2 NGS Global. And if Kotaku and Polygon write an article how company is bad for not bending backwards to blue checkmark screeching who aren't the target audience of your weeb game anyway, do what everyone else does, ignore them.

It would take no effort (release your product as is unmodified) and generate a lot of goodwill. Especially if it comes together with official statement, this time we're not censoring this game.

Given that the contents of the game files and not in game access to, defines the rating and legality of the work, a "Culturized" NA launcher and an unadulterated English Global launcher could be options. This global launcher could even be an all region import for consoles or side loaded on PC. The localized launcher would then replaced "missing" assets with generic replacements. Pick you own experience and let others have theirs, if a toggle is not practical for technical or political reasons.

@Akonyl Pretty much. I still see a lot even now. Even with some of the disgusting symbol art that gets put out I still don't think they should ever consider removing symbol art. Everyone shouldn't have to have something great removed just because of some people doing the wrong thing.

@havox4 Still no way of knowing what's going on until they say something. It could be an issue they're aware of but have put on the back burner until later. Perhaps even until next year with NGS.

I've noticed some of the press that does get highlighted is actually in light of censorship in video games which people have a problem with. I don't remember reading anything bad when Aion launched and you could make midget characters which could wear sexy outfits like bikinis. Even FF14 which is probably the second most popular MMO in the world at this point doesn't have any noticeable negative press regarding their small characters. In general stuff like this doesn't get brought up unless it's so over the top. I remember there was a game that was certainly over the top which was called Scarlet Blade.

What about we don't skip the cutscene, but we replace the cutscene? Like when the cutscene show the [redacted] scene, it immediately move to Xiera and MC reaction at the bridge looking at the screen. I am fine with Xiera's expression only. This at least solve the plot hole.

But don't skip the male scene since it has nice after story for already bad EP4.

@Fighter-Fairy I rather them not skip the female cutscene either, Phaleg looking straight at us adds a nice implication and makes her all the more scary.

Im advocating for people to have the original experience through a toggle. No need to cut one sides scenes and keep the others.

Guess the only option now is the toogle.

Ok, looks like at least the toggle option thread have no trolls/SJWs. Maybe they really can't deny this. So, I want to believe that this is the final solution and that we will soon see it applied. There is absolutely no downside, I'm really happy with this idea, and it might even be much better than a total censorship removal. In this way everyone has the choice, which is always the best thing.
