Better Block Organization?

Hey! So I used to play on JP and one thing that I really liked about it was how the blocks were really organized. If I remember correctly, The first 10ish blocks were for people doing "normal" quests, the next few were for "hard", then "very hard" etc. etc. There were also designated blocks for people who were just hanging around in the casino or people who were recording videos.A block I especially liked was "Expert Block". To get into this block, players needed to clear the "Heaven and Earth" extreme quest. This essentially forced players to get better weapons and units so they could clear it. This made XH EQ runs much more efficient as well.

If this were implemented again, it would make players (especially low level players) have an easier time finding a group for Urgent/Emergency Quests. Having expert block back would also be a great escape from bots spamming chat since they wouldn't be able to get into them. This is just a small quality of life thing, but I do think it would be a great thing to include in a future update.

TLDR; Change block names to difficulties and bring back expert block to:

  • Make finding parties for quest easier

  • Be in a block where bots can't get to

  • Make UQ/EQ runs more efficient

Thank you for sharing this feedback! I'll send it along to the team.

How? All you'd be doing is heavily separating the playerbase. You can already search multiple blocks when doing ANY quest, there's zero need to implement this.

Not exactly true- as many times(especially with blocks constantly closing down and cramming people closer together... like the last 2 maintenances did for my ship..) a group is hosted on the obvious packed blocks like 01 or 02. People afk here in the lobby often since it's just a popular place to hang out.. but because it's full those without premium can't join the groups. If there were blocks designated to certain groups then there would be only those wanting to group in those blocks- no afkers. anyone from any block would be able to join them and there would be no risk of overpopulation.

Then group up in another block and use the "search multiple blocks" option.

As i said, there's zero need to separate the playerbase like that.

I agree that these block names should be added. They don't prevent anyone from joining that specific block, besides Expert, they are just a suggestion. One thing this would be good for is the Casino. Currently, finding players in the Casino is hit or miss depending on the random block you go to, but with this, it would be more focused.

Absolutely agreed. I didn't even know this was a thing, having never played on JP before—until a friend told me very recently and shared an example screenshot of exactly how they were laid out. It'd obviously help a ton with populating more of the ad-hoc content with likeminded people, such as the Casino games (ESPECIALLY Blacknyack or Mesetan Shooter), recruiting additional members for trigger parties, or Rideroid quests without having to sit at the Quest Counder tediously refreshing the party search menu or start one fr

This is the aforementioned screenshot my buddy showed me. For the record, he told me that most of these are quite simply designations, they're just normal blocks with a recommendation catering to a specific piece of content in its name—as the poster above me stated as well, with the exception of Expert, which was also very clearly pointed out in the OP.

The thing you're describing is exactly what has been happening on JP for all of its lifetime. Nobody actually uses the designated blocks for anything, because nobody wants to lose space in a block with "hardcore" runners for UQs, so people AFK and run all triggers, DQs and Ultimate in B13-14 (upper Ultra Hard blocks), and freemium players are locked out.

When multiblock matching exists, there is no need for block designation. In fact, coexistance of both multiblock matching and designated blocks (the way it is on JP) causes excessive frustration, as groups are constantly split due to people using different matching methods.

Matter of fact is, the fundamental problem here is that quest instances are tied to lobby channels at all. If they rework the server architecture to fix this mistake (I've always thought it's never going to happen, but since NGS is a thing, it's not impossible at this point), then having designated blocks would be ideal for meeting people and having some actual semi-organized runs (in case you don't want to rely on full randomness of matchmaking). Unless/until that happens, they'll only make it worse

I'm another one against this idea. We've already got alliance blocks and blocks that people hang out through word of mouth like B34, Changing that all up now will just make blocks that aren't used for their intended purpose and will be incredibly annoying to deal with in the long run...

Designated blocks didn't work very well in JP either, nobody actually used them for that purpose which is why we got blank blocks... Use matchmaking and party finder if you want people for a group for a specific zone, people will join if they want to do that content.

Don't split up the playerbase/community, we've already got our go-to spots and welcome new players when they find the populated blocks for socializing.

The problem is matchmaking doesn't work for nonprem. cause people host lobbies on full blocks. And they fill slower because no one outside of that block can join. You can just make designated blocks on top of whats already there(not stomping on anyones home alliance or b34types) and it would fulfill its purpose. It's dumb to need a premium set to even join certain lobbies that are 4/12 just because the block is full

It works just fine... SEARCH AND ACCEPT ON MULTIPLE BLOCKS. Use this button and you will never have an issue joining anyone else. When creating a party set Active Recruitment on and take 3 allies with you from NPC menu to start, players can replace those.

You get into 1/12 ult lobbies then because the one ult lobby on the entire server that's up is in a full block. You can actually wait for hours and not have a group fill for certain things. I mean it works as it is- but it is not without its problems.

That's just a benefit of being premium, as with all else. Treat this game like FFXIV (Subscription Based), $13 a month to get access to the full game, it goes a little beyond convenience at some point... Separating blocks didn't work in JP and it does nothing but confuse and separate the playerbase.

I'd much rather have a designated block that you're able to log into if it's not full each time you sign into the game.

Designated blocks on JP DO work though, when the content specific to them is actually relevant and worth running. Whenever there was a ult quest boost, the ultimate quests block would be full from people wanting to run ult quests, for example. Even just designating by difficulty, something incredibly basic, would go a long way to help.
