i mention before about words that have definitions. loli, lolicon are together, if you are talking lolita fashion like "Mana" from "Moi Dix Mois" / "Malice Mizer" that is not made about height it is style of dress.

"in the marketing of pornography" well sorry i am not into pornography that much to know that the term "loli" is being used in that way for pornographic stuff....read the "in japanese culture" thats what i have been refering to in my last reply

I think I should just keep that link on my clipboard from now on.

@IAMCRAIG-0 Ok, that link is informative, still doesn't say that everyone that uses the term, is as you say, a P. All it's shown, is that the Anime community in the US, is either not well informed, or is trying to change the meaning of the words used, into a more positive light, in stark contrast to the British/English and their original term for cigarette, that was subverted, and used as a slang derogatory insult for those attracted to the same sex. F*g (just add an *a) used to be used to refer to cigs.

Words evolve, and change with time, thus why entire languages die out. Look to The Sumerians as the most famous, and oldest example. Eventually even our language will die, and a new one will take it's place.

Edit to accommodate the other posts I didn't see: The others just posted the terminology I was familiar with. So in context of what they were saying earlier, they were correctm and you were mistaken. Had this been in any other context, you would have been more correct.

I have lots of japanese friends on PSO2 JP, and no one, literally no one use the term loli to refer to pornography.

Loli or Lolikko, is only refer to the appearance.

Lolicon or Lolita Complex is only refer to the sexual attraction.

So calling someone "lolicon" is very derogatory, but in Japan they only use that word for fun.

If you really want to accuse a person of pedophilia, you have to call them hentai lolicon.

I have spent enough time with Japanese people to learn about these things. It is useless to make Western generalizations on terms that are not even yours.

people also mentioned they are being afraid that more stuff is being censored in future and dont want that to happen...

This is what I fear, and not because of the pro censor thing alone. I clearly see now nonetheless, reading some stuff over and over, why SEGA JP thought a lot about this and decided to do some changes.

shes a loli herself why shouldn she be allowed to create a loli xD

If youre 17/18 youre not a "loli" anymore and you dont look loli. Being small will never make you look "loli". physiology is totally diferent, especially face. Filters in rl is not a thing.

Being heavily into "loli" implies being into the "ero-kawaii" culture.

Which I find again pretty stupid censoring the height, or being very mad about it. t here is already underage chars ingame; alt text

Alright. So I just have to stop saying the L word and S word for me not to be an instant P word. Ok. I can do that. I don't need to fight it. Now, where's the actual topic this thread was about at? can we go back to that? We were here just for the height restriction but look where it all has been blown into. I'm also 97.5 sure this thread will be either locked or plain deleted. Way too much fire here.

@IAMCRAIG-0 I'm also sure the censor will remain intact for the foreseeable time. If it changes, you may have already bored of this game and have moved on. That's what happened with Tera. The censor took years to be removed. Could happen here as well. So don't worry too much about it. Anyway, since I'm repugnant to you (because on your words, I'm a P word), this may be the last we speak. I won't block you but you may want to block me from now on, since I will keep spewing my "perverted message", and there's nothing you can do about that. So good day.

@ZorokiHanuke This made me chuckle a bit. Good for you man.

The difference between your example and lolicon is that lolicon began as a negative word, much like the N-word, but not nearly as horrific history behind it, nor are there a People to reclaim it as their own word, in which it might ease the hurts caused to them and their ancestors.

Lolicon does not have anything to redeem the word, nor a people to reclaim it. It is not a term that can evolve into something more positive.

edit: Why are you even censoring the word pedophile? It isn't a protected group, nor a curse word.

Considering what I've been through both irl and on the Internet, this is less than an insect bite...

@IAMCRAIG-0 And as the others stated, they are using the term, not in reference to Lolicon. They are using the term Lolita, which is also an apparent abbreviation to a program, besides being related to fashion. It's about the context used, or do you not understand that?

Lolita is literally the title for a novel about a man that grooms a child.

@IAMCRAIG-0 And? As shown above, Loli is a Database, Lolita can refer to Jappanese fashion.

The Lolita novel was also a Russian thing, so that's the Russian usage, not the Jappanese usage. The question is what came first. And then the question should be, hypothetically speaking, if the Jappanese usage came after, should the Jappanese change their own words, to censor themselves for your sensibilities.

Edit: upon further Googling, I found that in 2007, a film adaptation was made, and was allowed to be shown in the U.S. I'd be more concerned about U.S. authorities than the Japanese if I were you.

@Anarchy-Marine Know what the best argument is on this thing with words? That people will keep using it and won't care about what some people on the Internet thinks about them. I certainly don't care. They don't pay my bills nor decide if I go to jail or not for saying one word.

Actually..

The novel was originally written in English and first published in Paris in 1955 by Olympia Press. Later it was translated into Russian by Nabokov himself and published in New York City in 1967 by Phaedra Publishers.

So before I let you continue, you have clearly done absolutely 0 research on this and have gone purely by hearsay, so now I ask you, since you blocked me before for similar reasons, if not worse, why should I listen to your comments on it anymore?
