The censorship on being short should be removed. Round 2

@SparkyDaPikachu For 15* weapons, episode 5. Austere weapons are the first ones I believe, you need +35 Nemesis, Slave, Ares, and Invade weapons. The last two are not in the game yet.

Those weapons are called Ophistia in this release, and Ophistia weapons should drop from Barren Destroyer XH (MPA, not solo)

@Kurumi-Tokisaki They shouldn't drop from PD; the OT versions dropped from PD, but those we 13* weapons. The NT versions drop from a later UQ and can also be obtained from Zig, which is probably the main way a lot of people are going to get it.

@Zenny Yeah, I am telling people in the comments of these videos that they should send a support ticket on the issue if they feel strongly about it. Changes like what we are aiming for generally require a significant number of people being vocal.

From the same Wiki, i can show you 15* Austere-NT(Ophistia) drop from Profound Darkness XH. https://pso2.arks-visiphone.com/wiki/Perennial_Apocalypse

This is the current version we have, it got upgraded this last week. It should theoretically drop from PD XH now, as well as Invade series, and both of the sets/armors are dropping for those pieces as well.

@Kurumi-Tokisaki I double checked it on swiki:

https://pso2.swiki.jp/index.php?オフスティアカリバー

The NT version drops from UH difficulty not XH. OT drops can drop from XH.

Yeaaaah, I can't read that. All I know is the first wiki you linked had something that supported my claim that the 15* Ophistia should drop in PD XH which goes hand-in-hand with what I know about the drop tables in jp version. XH, not UH. (of course still UH too, and more common there)

@Kurumi-Tokisaki Whenever there is a conflict in information, as visiphone does not list PD XH or even PD at all as a way to get Austere-NT weapons, I am going to swiki as that is usually the more accurate wiki, albeit it is in Japanese.

This part on the page I linked talks about where the OT version can be obtained and it lists the PD UQ (世界を堕とす輪廻の徒花) that you mentioned in XH difficulty, those it lists both MPA and Solo.

This here describes the drop for the NT version, again it lists the PD UQ (世界を堕とす輪廻の徒花), both solo and MPA, but it notes that it is from the UH version.

The NT version did not come out until Episode 5 while the updated PD came out in Episode 4. I believe UH came out in Episode 5, which would line up with NT only being available as a drop in UH.

In hind sight, probably should have not gone this long talking about Austere/Ophistia weapons.

Welp @GM-Deynger @GM-Drogeto @GM-Beemo since this topic has greatly derailed, like so many others from the topic matter to now what it looks like is weapon and item drops when and where. I think its time to lock yet another thread on the silly matter.

Should be autolocking these at this point.

@Paladin These don't need to be locked and a thread may derail time to time, but they are generally locked when said derailment is due to uncivilized behavior. This was more of making sure no misinformation was given, even if unrelated. These topics should not be autolocked, that would just cause a storm in social media.

There have already been two videos from youtube channels of decent sizes on the subject of censorship:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI01Cg6IbL8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eSACJ9dAzg

Not being able to discuss it would likely cause more problems.

Definitely a topic worth discussion still. I very much want to see change. There's a lot of reason it should be reverted to how it was. I will say the Slave series change was a reasonable enough thing to change (though a bit strange that they would do it so suddenly), but it's probably for the best. Things like that and the weapon "illegal negro", among other weird things I'm sure, are fine to change.

The height thing though, the removal of scenes (all characters involved in the removed scenes were 18), items like smart inner? Not okay. I especially hope things like the "luster" slider which was curiously omitted from the NGS Global trailer (it was shown in JP, but not Global's), despite being mentioned on the Global PSO2 site in text, isn't a tell of things to come.

I would say it's worth keeping a watchful eye on this page to see if it changes : https://pso2.com/news/announcements/pso2ngsannouncement

This is the original text, for context. alt text

Trailer at specific times for comparison:

JP at the moment in question: https://youtu.be/GSJ_q-0ZyDk?t=76

NA at the start of character creation's section: https://youtu.be/WqI_2oXa0cE?t=71

To those who don't think this is important or don't care about censorship, consider the precedent of it all; it's not the one small thing we're bothered by. It's the steady cycle of small things being changed or removed that's upsetting. It will likely one day hurt something you care about as well, if left alone.

This post is deleted!

Wow this thread sure derailed o.o

To be honest, there's only so far theories can go.

Maybe someone wanted representative average height, but that doesn't make sense for a global release.

@Shadowth117 PSSST!

Hitsugi is 16.

Aru is 16 (As that's Hitsugis playable char and player characters are 16 by minimum due to being a requirement to participate in field ops)

Kohri is 16 too.

https://www.bumped.org/psublog/character-file-kohri/

Regardless, the height change is such a ridiculous thing to change at all.

If we have the option to make goblin sized people originally, why change it away and lock it?

What sort of brainstorm happened to cause the height to be locked at 150 or whatever it is?

Was it the average height? If so then the kid argument is thrown out the window as that's the average height of a child.

If it's due to the age argument then that's out the window too since Height=/=age.

This is why we need clarity on things.

My cynical feeling is that height restriction is the least effort "seen to be doing something about it" action even if at best it only reduces the amount of objectionable characters. Any other alternative that we have discussed would be more work to implement. If this was true, I cannot see admitting so being in the company interests.

And if both changes were made in regards to that one public washroom cutscene- once again, cutscenes can be skipped.

Japan wasn't the first country to allow public bathing, either.

Rome did it first, and everyone else followed the more Catholic standards of lone bathing. (Minus any servants of the era.)

However, currently the Netflix movie Cuties is garnering backlash that some might argue that the PSO2 virtual teenagers otherwise would have garnered.

In the current climate, maybe the height restriction was deemed somehow necessary for moderation standards, but I still don't really buy that excuse.

Since SEGA won't speak about it, we don't know which PSO2 branch or staff team actually suggested implementation of the restriction in the first place.

But I agree, whatever the "problem" was, this solution is indeed the laziest I have ever seen.

I play a female CAST, currently the shortest I can keep her at is 154, depending on the Legs or outfit's shoes.

All she is to me is a dress up character, same with my main in Mabinogi.

I honestly don't know where staff would get outlandish and phobic ideas.

It appears to me through JP blog posts, that JP players love to make the young characters, simply because it's "Moe," or cute.

Why can't NA or Global players do the same?

Well- only 4% of JP players had the smallest breast size- while the majority of female characters are actually in the 160cm range.

http://pso2.jp/players/event/4th_aor/report/player/ This is the middle of JP life. It's not as bad as people would want you to believe. I've seen gross exaggerations like "90% of players make lolis!"... When it doesn't even happen on my ship- even in the blocks people use just to be lewd. And in JP- it wasn't even close to that. You can make a short character that doesn't look young just as you can make a taller character look young. It's a powerful character creator to be sure and one of the main reasons the game makes money and people play it.. So restricting it is a bit insulting.
