I am getting the impression that support for height restrictions is about is less about preventing others from making questionable characters and more about oneself seing less questionable characters. Perhapse a dual axis filter is ideal. One axis for hieght, filter if bellow X, and the other "skin" filter if the selected "underwear" mesh would be exposed. That way everyone has to dial in theie experince of how "modest" at what height do you want to see a character at.

@zubkoa It's different for everyone, that's for sure. I think it's easier for everyone to make it personal without solid confirmation on why it's implemented, even though most of us can guess why.

That's a pretty good suggestion, but I still feel that would defeat the purpose of Sega capping it in the first place. Although I disagree with the toggle suggestion (having an on/off setting that filters character heights in options), I think it might be a more effective option for what you're describing.

Yeah one reason I made the communication from Sega thread is so that we know why it was censored. If they think the bath scene is literally sexual assault, then no manner of protest will get them to change it. Doesn't really matter what the community thinks.

I think the height one has a chance. It was a heavy handed approach, that had no community input. No matter what their problem actual is, a compromise should be reachable, as their is nothing inherently wrong with simply making a short character.

Not going to lie though, I would have been okay with them removing all the lewd stuff from the game to get a T rating, (seems they were dinged on lewd swimsuits) just give me back me 10cm (it's m now so keeping swimsuits should be okay)

I don't know what's worse, assumptions over an anime themed game, or the fact that Auxiliaries being far shorter than characters could actually be a worse assumption.

@ApollosAmour I would like to undersetand why you dislike the toggle solution if it would lack a default, and you would not have to go looking to turn it anymore than someone would have to go disable it? No judgments, only a prompt "We have noticed players may not enjoy seeing the stylistic choices of other. Please select your 'show unmodified' height and modesty levels and any emotes you do not want to see." Everyone gets a tailored experince and maximum creative freedom under the law.

As for why SEGA implemented the NA changes, I believe it to be for legal conserns and to avoid backlash by being seen to do something. If it was actually illegal then the JP client would have been illegal and should have drawn legal attention to itself. Height restrictions can be a "think of the children" or hight based discrimination against adults. Neither is good for buisness, but choose your own experice ought to allow maximum creativity under the law and player comfort with that creativity. One can do anything legal and no one has to see it if it detracts from the experince.

It's the "for the kids" censorship assumption, which is more or less useless to argue in a US society that manufactures bikinis for toddlers.

Personally I think the perma-innerwear option (in the form of body paint or a skin or something) for heights under the current cap is the best for all involved. The opinion I've seen reflected the most in these threads is that people want shorter characters with no sexual intention, so it wouldn't really affect them to have some sort of bodysuit on, but it would give them the height they want. It would also help reinforce Sega's decision by making sure that the opportunity for them to be sexualized is still reduced like it would be with the cap in place with no wiggle room.

All that assuming Sega's decision is related to user-generated loli/shota content, which we don't know for sure.

@MasterDarkwingz Sega doesn't have control over what the ESRB says. If they were folding to the ESRB, then there isn't much we can do. Though the game is M rated now, so that is a mute point.

As much as I would like a censorship toggle option, my faith in SEGA for development of it is low.

@ApollosAmour The inner wear suggestion is complete garbage because that screws up looks ppl go for. That's why JP has smart inner wear, to fix any jank clothes showing. It exists because its important.

If Sega actually implemented a toggle, (they won't but let's pretend) that means that its not undermining any of their decisions because its them that would be putting it back in. So to say a toggle that's on by default isn't as good of an option when it would literally appease both camps is 100% crazy talk.

@Z0DIAK-BRAVE that assumes sega did it for the players. They could have easily done it for their "public image." While I REALLY like the toggle option, we don't know if it is viable because sega hasn't been communicating with us. Ie my communication thread

Out of all 14 pages of this convo that I've read so far, I rather side with keeping the size limit.

As much as I'd really want to be smaller, we don't need people abusing the minimum size limit just to create naked child-sized avatars. This will only encourage people towards the interest of child nudity, which is illegal in America regardless of game rating. We don't need lolis/pedos in the game.

If you really want to be that tiny so badly, then why not work for it in the CASINO? They already have tiny character suits for 10,000 coins. 20,000 if were talking the Nyau Suit.

And for those who aren't aware, the Morgana suit is hella tiny, and still obtainable as of September 2020. Just gotta participate in both Persona concerts to get it (P3 and P5). There should be an event schedule on the PSO2.com home page, in the News section under Urgent Quests. It lists all quests and concerts that will happen this month.

Other than having special tiny character suits, I rather not corrupt the game with encouraging the loli/pedo fandom.

Also, I say "pedo" cus why else would you want "little boys" and "little girls" to be in the game? If lolis are that important to you, then I rest my case.
