The censorship on being short should be removed.

😲 I'm glad to see the people that don't wish for a "toxic community" within PSO2 are still being toxic towards those that just want to enjoy the game like JP does.

Don't want a toxic community

Proceed to be extremely toxic on the PSO2 forums

🤔

Do you want a non toxic community or do you want a toxic community? Because from the posts still being thrown around, it sounds like you guys actually want a toxic community.

Yes, I know this is a repost. No I don't care because it still holds up.😲

Let you tell it, .....mean ......misdirect. Everything and everyone who points to your choice of word and tactical sentence structure is slandering your reputation.

If you say it a 100 time you think the community will believe you or me?

Nothing I say is designed to misdirect. I approach your points head on. You mocked me about a credited degree, and I actually am about to get one that is relevant to this topic, and I gave a brief example of a project that I have worked on to support my position and help show that I actually do have some experience in the field.

If you had to ask me who the community would believe between you and me, I feel that I have given plenty of evidence that helps supports my position and I am not the one resorting to personal attacks. I have no reason to believe that most people would write off my posts.

Again, I ask that you refrain from making personal attacks. It does nothing to help you and only risks getting this thread removed.

Just look at Luna bio and you will see the missing content he believe everyone should witness. Something Sega has removed from the proper in game segment story line for NA. Blatantly disrespect and disregard for the NA rules (Laws) put in place. If Sega has to follow them why shouldn’t Luna if he going to place a link on there forum?

You’re speaking about how much work it takes to introduce a toggle Censorship system And you not even apart of Sega Dev team. If that isn’t misdirection at it finest than you are confused about what the word misdirection means. Fact is you are not apart of the Sega Dev team by speaking to the community on their behave in attempt to strengthen your agenda of the community viewing of censors content and your cult culture. You don’t want the option of the toggle system because it negates your control.

@RainGnyu 1973–2002 In the United States, pornography is generally protected as a form of personal expression, and thus governed by the First Amendment to the Constitution. Where pornography ceases to be protected expression is when it fails the Miller obscenity test, as the Supreme Court of the United States held in 1973 in Miller v. California. Another case, New York v. Ferber (1982), held that if pornography depicts real child abuse or a real child victim, as a result of photographing a live performance for instance, then it is not protected speech.

In 1996, U.S. Congress introduced the Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996 (CPPA) to update the types of pornographic media featuring minors considered illegal under U.S. federal law. In 2002, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition that two provisions of the CPPA were facially invalid due to being overbroad and covering certain aspects of protected speech, such as the non-pornographic 1999 film American Beauty. The case also reaffirmed both the Miller and Ferber decisions.

The Miller test, also called the three-prong obscenity test, is the United States Supreme Court's test for determining whether speech or expression can be labeled obscene, in which case it is not protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and can be prohibited

By the statute's own terms, the law does not make all fictional child pornography illegal, only that found to be obscene or lacking in serious value.

@RainGnyu Do I have to be a part of the Sega development team? I have experience in the same field of work and have worked on projects that require a similar level of technical finesse. If I was living in Japan, I would have submitted an application to Sega as many of the skills they are looking currently for, such as experience in C++ and C#, I have.

I am not looking to strengthen any agenda nor exhibit any control over others. I am simply being vocal on a subject that I believe to be important. I have experience in the relevant technical skills needed to create a censorship toggle, hence why I say that it is not a feasible endeavor, especially when much of their developmental resources are going towards NGS.

As to the subject of the law, there was a Supreme Court case involving the Child Pornography Prevention Act, Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition. Within the final ruling, they stated:

The Act does not cover drawings, cartoons, sculptures, and paintings that depict youthful-looking persons in sexual poses; it supplies an affirmative defense to persons who disseminate visual depictions involving adults who may appear to be children, provided that the depictions are not promoted or presented as child pornography, 18 U.S.C. 2252A(c) (Supp. V 1999); and the Act does not apply to visual materials in which sexually explicit conduct by children is understood to be taking place, as long as the sexually explicit conduct is not itself visually depicted.

This ruling gives a precedent that US law would not affect PSO2 if they included this scene. Furthermore, there are games such as Senran Kagura that depict minors in much more explicit situations that go by uncensored on most platforms. Furthermore, many animes are simulcasted in the west through services offered by Crunchy Roll, Funimation, and others. Many of those animes have characters under the age of majority by US standards compromised in explicit situations, yet they are not affected by US law.

These cases set a precedent that Sega does not have to worry about US laws affecting them should they remove the height censor and/or restore the removed story cutscene.

Furthermore, back around 15 years ago, when the Hot Coffee Mod for GTA: San Andreas was released, the game was reclassified by rating boards across the world because the sex scenes unlocked by the Hot Coffee Mod were actually within the game's files. Thus the cutscene that I have linked in my signature is already subject to review by the various rating boards and the law.

The scene itself is in no way illegal, thus I have not broken any laws or rules by posting a link to this cutscene that is included within the game's files.

I understand all that!

This the reason for the toggle system! It puts the control in my hands. My personal opinion my choice. You have no say so on how In think! That is between me and GOD and his son Jesus Christ!

Have you received your degree yet? Have you applied and received statement of employment and acceptance from Sega?

please do not bring religion into a forum post because that is usually a very fast way of getting banned and/or getting the entire topic removed.

@RainGnyu Do I need to receive a statement of employment and acceptance from Sega? Furthermore, did I not state that I would have applied if I lived in Japan? I have given my credentials through the projects I have worked on, with my explanation of my senior project being explained. The people at Sega are not the only programmers and software engineers in the world. I have experience in the same field; obviously not as much experience, but still experience nonetheless and can tell when a particular project or endeavor can be tricky.

As for my degree, the only thing I need left is to finish an internship while taking the appropriate internship class, as per required by my university, that has me report on the internship as I progress through it. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic had placed my internship and thus my graduation on hold. However, all of my classwork, including the senior project which was done for an actual professional client, is completed.

Finally, I agree with dragonelete that religion should not be brought in. It very much is a fast way of getting banned and/or getting the thread locked and removed.

You have no legal responsibility to Sega therefore have no legal repercussions! But you are using their platform for censored content which is a valuation of the TOS agreement.

I could be wrong time will tell.

to throw something in....this game is not only published in the US - please dont make it look like its a "US" server...there are at least 35 other countries were the game got published with different laws than the US

i have also looked through the laws of those other places (most of them are repeats of others) and the only one that MIGHT have problems is EU and even then the the law in question has not yet been passed and is so far being delayed indefinately.

@RainGnyu If this was a violation of the ToS agreement, then I would have already been banned. I freely show this signature of mine. Also worth noting that I am not the person who made this video. The video was also posted publicly on reddit.
