Can we not cut out anymore story scenes and stop it with censorship in general.

Do you guys find it odd we still don’t have the Bunny Suit(playboy bunny looking one)? It’s from a pretty old scratch on jp. It doesn’t make any sense since we just got the skimpy Blanc Mermaid outfit but I’m starting to wonder if they keep leaving Bunny Suit out on purpose, like there’s some sexist undertones to the outfit or something. I know Playboy popularity is kinda iffy in the US in recent years, even the logo.

Not to mention there is always this smug sense of moral superiority that people like him out on. Like how we are somehow lesser for wanting to enjoy an M-rated game.

Nope! Some people like myself don’t want to be subjected to your personal opinion of morality. I like Sega sense of proper perspective entertainment! We both understand the story sequence of events anything else is just a distraction. Don’t get upset because I disagree and vocalize it because it is no different than your own vocalization.

That right here is what I am talking about. I make a general observation, and you proceed to try to act like you're the authority on whether or not it is valid.

I get that you have a different opinion, but stop trying to infantilize people you disagree with.

Sorry for double posting, but figured if get this thought out seperately; I think the playboy bunny outfit has more to do with copyright rather than just scrutiny.

@Liam-J-McAdam I doubt bunny suits are subject to any kind of copyright. In FFXIV, there are two sets of easily obtainable bunny suits (that male character can also wear), and playboy is not mentioned anywhere in regards to copyright. Xenoblade Chronicles X also featured bunny suits for women to wear.

@Liam-J-McAdam

@TheMerfox

Right I don’t think copyright is it or we wouldn’t have basically the same outfit in the casino, and yes ffxiv has a version too. So it makes me wonder why we haven’t gotten it yet. We’ve gotten most of the popular outfits from jp and it’s plainly obvious this outfit would bring in a lot of money. I see people already trying to replicate the look with what we have, using swimsuits and such. The demand is there, it would fetch a high price on the market.

And yet we don’t have it, it feels almost deliberately skipped over.

The reason FFXIV has Bunny outfits and Lalafells (characters who're shorter than 151CM... Imagine?) is mainly due to the fact that SE isn't pandering to the minority of western audiences alone. on FFXIV, we have the ability to freely play between JP/NA/EU servers, as in my opinion, should be for any game that comes from Japan to the west, Especially with the advertised and I quote all the content - that one didn't age so well huh?

So to change what we have access to on FFXIV would mean seperating us out of the mainline game to do something stupid like make a watered down version of a perfectly fine game just because a minority of us westerners are a bunch of morons offended by anything and everything, resulting in perfectly good money going down the drain to make a seperated version as opposed to pumping that same money into more collabs, content and having the ability to join the main game without having to be drip fed the same content that has been out for years over a long period of time.

It is skipped over 100% - because this version of the game is sadly hot garbage, until people get the product they were promised I personally refuse to touch it honestly, so I'll stick with the JP version of PSO2, and a prime example of how a global MMO should be handled; FFXIV, any day of the week.

@Praxithea-Von I agree. I regret starting this version of the game (I used to play the jp version since beta). 😞 I unfortunately spent too much time already on it to quit though. I should have stuck with my guns initially to not touch this version knowing how other english release phantasy star games were treated, as a afterthought (any future phantasy star game I'm just going to probably play the Japanese version). I may rectify this mistake when NGS comes out and switch back to the jp version.

The NA version is inferior to the jp version in almost every way and the NA only positives aren't even that great.

What does the NA version even have that the jp version doesn't have?

The fresh finds shop? (a more fancy ui designed treasure finds shop). Fresh finds maybe look nice, but the treasure shop is probably functionally better.

Triggers for badges of non-relevant emergency quests? (which is a feature jp may eventually have)

Independence day lobby / emergency quest (i didn't care for the emergency quest to be honest, was just a unused jp emergency quest)?

Mission pa.... oh wait jp has that now.

Updates regularly (but only because the content already exists, they just have to turn it on).

A 64 bit client (jp's client is still 32 bit to my knowledge) but to the average user this is irrelevant.

Some "exclusive" items, but the jp version has their own exclusive items and many more at that (and they are gettin some of our exclusive items now).

Some updates earlier than expected, like high item star trading, arks missions, and augment xfer passes (but.. jp already has these).

You can play the game on xbox (which requires a sub to xbox live gold to even PLAY the game without premium). Sounds... expensive to play premium on xbox. In my opinion if you log in to pso2 from a xbox you should get premium previledges (doesn't jp get these privileges when logging in via a web cafe?).

Voice chat? Sadly not that useful cause of the lack of options unfortunately.

English voice act.... (can put those into the jp client so....)

(These are only the positives, there's many more negatives which outdo the list of positives and would make this post... much... MUCH bigger like things you can't do).

The only reason I still play is because I play with some friends which is always nice, but that's not a NA specific thing or even a pso2 specific thing for that matter.. You can make friends on the jp version as well, or on any game. Is the NA version fun? Sure. But it still feels really bad knowing stuff is missing/deliberately taken out. I don't know why NA didn't come out when JP initially did. How square enix treats global mmo's is much better. Sega should have done much better.

All in all I feel taken advantage of. /rant

Could any of you who have an active JP account give me some clarification on something? I read that there's a story archive you can view from your room in JP servers that contains all the missing EP1-EP3 scenes from switching away from the Matterboard system, as well as the movie cutscenes. The most recent posts I can confirm of JP players referring to it are from 1-2 years ago though. Does that still exist?

@AiC-L Yes, event chronicles still exist - but I am not sure if new players are able to access that. I have it unlocked from the matterboard era.

@AiC-L I can also confirm that the Event Chronicle exists on the Japanese side by simply visiting your Personal Quarters and interacting with the Personal Terminal.

@HarmlessSyan @VanillaLucia If someone else can confirm that post-matterboard players can access it as well then that's one more thing to throw on the list. I hope we can get it back before the vtuber attention fades at least. Would be a shame for the outside community to only see the abbreviated version of the story.

@AiC-L I joined just as the Omnibus was removed from the game during Episode 5 so I would consider it a "yes" to that as well. Admittedly it is not only the story that was abbreviated but also a very big chunk of the game and its content was abbreviated due to it being notoriously tedious. I cannot imagine how players would have enjoyed walking into a Free Field Exploration quest to be forcibly removed from their party because they walked into a cutscene and then were forced to come back to redo the quest they intended to do for suddenly another condition to trigger that would force them out of their next party or quest attempt.

@VanillaLucia I had an old EP1 account so I can tell you it was very tedious. And this was back before you could just mow stuff down solo easily, so it took longer too. I specifically remember picking up Steady Shot/One Point and having the bullets fly everywhere BUT the one point I aimed at. It did feel a lot more involved though. Felt more like an actual world than a checklist for daily progress in a game. Even the annoying level uncap quests had me annoyed at ARKS rather than at the game designers.

Question: was the Level uncap quests ever explained?

@KOSMOSFAN22497 I... think it was the same excuse as difficulty uncaps? The usual paper excuse of a test or training for promotion. My memory is really fuzzy on that. I do remember that you had to unlock expeditions (free fields?) by running the normal missions to prove yourself competent enough to go on your own. I only played from the release of Fi/Gu/Te to the end of EP1 since my laptop was the heavenly emperor of potatoes. It literally crashed every time I finished more than like 2 missions.
