So do cosmetics/costumes carry over?

Topic point.

There's no mention of them in the update post only that emotes/Gear carry over.

In the follow up video it claims PSO2 Classic will be given a graphical update as well, however seems odd as PSO2 will have classes not available in NGS, but if it does actually get a graphical update to match NGS it would be entirely possible for costumes and accessories to carry over.

My doom sense says it was purposefully excluded to get people to buy gacha then say womp womp

So what exactly is happening as theories are cheap official information is gold?

The trailer says that emotes and other registered data will be shared. Accessories, hairstyles, inner wear, base wear, they're all tickets that are registered into the character exactly like emotes, and so, it's heavily implied that all of these are shared.

Also, during that part of the trailer, it's showing the result of what happens when the default human hunter is transfered from PSO2 to NGS. His outfit and hairstyle were kept in NGS.

True, but it says "Note: Current PSO2" which implied to me that it wasn't actually the import feature...

Also leaving things up for interpretation in such a vague way is how corporations get away with a LOT of bullshit, basically the "I'm not touching you" of corporate speak any misunderstanding is clearly on your part and not of the good hearted god fearing multi million billion dollar corporation just spreading love and joy with totally 0 intention to deceive

@Thirstday The trailer says "Emotes and other registered data will be shared between PSO2 and PSO2:NGS as well!" while at the same time showing footage of the PSO2 default hunter in PSO2:NGS. It's pretty clear that it's an import feature.

"Note footage is from the Current PSO2"

if the outfits wich are none consumeables are being transfered is still open tho - just mentioning this - all others as already mentioned will recieve a transfer 100% but my guess is yes on the non consumeable ones...wouldn make no sense to leave them out

I'm talking about this, which is clearly NGS footage:

EDIT: The note that says "footage is from the current PSO2" is in a completely different section that is not related to importing the character's data. In that section it says that the current PSO2 will also get the graphics engine update, but the video shown is from the current PSO2 without the graphics update, and so, the note says that the footage is from the current PSO2 (without the graphics update).

Nope just "OTHER" registered data

Rule of thumb vagueness is either done out of laziness or necessity . Other confirms nothing about registered data as OTHER is not ALL registered data

Other is a subset of ALL

Ahhh well probably won't make you feel any better but for JP page it says

http://pso2.jp/players/news/26483/

『PSO2』のキャラクタークリエイト情報やロビーアクションに関連するアイテムや過去の登録情報は、すべて『PSO2:NGS』と共有可能です!

PSO2 character creator data and lobby action and related registered items, ALL(すべて) will be shared in PSO2 NG

hmm they transfer units - they already mentioned this one....so outfits (not registered/consumed ones) should be safe in being transfered over too

The trailer shows the PSO2 base human hunter outfit on PSO2:NGS in the section that is about sharing character data between both games, so it's heavily implied that regular (non-ticket) costumes will be shared as well.

@JuggernautGTX well they also mentioned units will be invisible on NG - while cosmetics will require some work to make it from low poly to HD and possible adapting to new physics engine. I want to believe they will carried over but I can't give 100% guarantee

@Thirstday if you want to find out what registered character data is, go to the salon and see what all options are available for your character.

There goes your answer. It is registered to your character. It is part of your character. The only thing getting left behind that is a component of your character are motionless fingers.

That's like your opinion bro and it's not ALL data it's OTHER data. Any argument is meaningless until we get clarification, if you want to be hopeful be hopeful, but until we get clarification any theories are as good as tar.
