People forget one thing tho: Mission Pass (ya season 5 was a little messed up but still) can give you a free 200 SG per pass if you buy premium or "technically" a free gold pass for f2p player

I didn't include it in an earlier breakdown of SG per week due to that variance. To be clear, for players that complete every mission pass it depends on how they are set up:

  • Premium: 200 SG per 4 weeks, so 50 SG per week
  • Free spending SG on gold: Breaks even so 0 SG per week
  • Free and doesn't get gold: 100 SG per 4 weeks, so 25 SG per week

It doesn't really seem right to average that because for most people it'll probably be the same one every four weeks so it's a big difference depending on whether you're premium or not.

But at best that's 50 SG per week. Honestly we should weigh that potential against all the external sources it is unfeasible to give us - namely PSO2es and IDOLA, as they depend on external apps. As HarmlessSyan details above, IDOLA is up to 85 SG per week depending on how you spend IDOLA points, but it seems like 50 SG per week is a reasonable amount and nicely matches Mission Pass with premium.

Given that, our lack of casino SG still has no replacement.

Moreover, the biggest issue is we get 8 weeks instead of 26 to accumulate all SG sources. We aren't being given SG 3.2 times as fast to make up for the scratch being compressed!

In some ways I feel sorry for the PSO2 team on that part. If we were to have SG scratch stretched out to 6 months, we'd never catch up to JP! They could run multiple SG scratches concurrently; ignoring the developmental effort of that, it would still give us the same SG source per scratch set but it would at least give players a little more freedom on when we could pursue each scratch set.

They also can't just accelerate our SG income to match the accelerated SG scratch sets, e.g. by giving us 3x as much from all sources until our SG scratch is caught up, because that would give NA players a very different expectation about the value of SG and it would be a shock once we catch up and that multiplier is removed. Especially for NA players who never knew it was being accelerated.

Presumably once we have caught up with JP our SG scratch sets will last 6 months each as well. If we have our SG sources broadly in parity by then (e.g. Mission Pass being our replacement for IDOLA and all else equal i.e. we get casino SG) then at the very least we'd be better off than we are now.

...oh, right. Fresh Finds...

to those who still feel hurt about SG or are unpatient to wait for Ep4 for a "highly possible SG increase" - look at the other side of the coin. We are just a few weeks away for the next big update and the SG scratch gonna last a couple days after it.

Just to check, you realise that the longer they take to release new SG sources, the less of it we can get before this SG scratch set ends?

This set (or rather, pair of sets) is set to end on 8 September. Suppose Episode 4 arrives on 19 August and gives us SG sources from the casino and battle arena. Battle arena is tied to Episode 4 so we can exclude that from consideration. But we know casino SG is 40 SG per week, meaning players could use that for 3 weeks before the Fallen Heroes set ends for a total of 120 SG.

Now imagine they were to respond to our concerns and reinstate casino SG in the next maintenance on 22 July. That's an extra 4 weeks, for a total of 160 SG and 2 additional scratches. It's still not much, true, but that's still because this set (pair of sets) is ending so quickly and considering we're only getting 3 to 10 scratches' worth of SG during this set's brief tenure from renewing sources at the moment (premium dependent) that's still a moderately significant increase.

The bigger issue at hand is we don't know if we're ever getting casino SG. It wasn't tied to Episode 4 in JP and there's no reason for it to have been removed for us, for us to need to wait for Episode 4 to get it back (at the expense of a couple scratches) or for it to have been removed from the manual considering it remains outdated in other areas meaning a temporary removal is more work than it's worth.

And who knows with all the feedback you are sending them in (directly through support) they might increase the duration of the SG scratch for a month or longer so everyone who is interested in this one can keep up the grind and grab the goodies they want.

A 4-week extension would still mean we only get 12 weeks instead of 26. That's half the time and with reduced SG sources and Fresh Finds sapping SG on top. As I said earlier in this post, there isn't really a good solution for this problem though considering longer sets delay catch-up and parity with JP.

One thing they might want to consider is breaking up an SG scratch set or four and putting those contents into Fresh Finds instead of doing that with AC scratch content. That would mean we have fewer SG scratch sets to get through before we're caught up, and would also mean we're putting SG content into the SG shop (with no change to tradability) instead of AC content (which is tradable on JP and made not tradable on NA).

That sounds like a possible solution...lets say they double the time for the current SG scratch - release the next 2 SG scratches in fresh finds - and keep up with some of the weekly SG login rewards - or even plan on doing a BIG event for the next update wich includes a ton of SG (available through in game grinding) or - even better - they release monthly missions wich rewards players with SG (to make up for the increased amount of SG that actually could be spent on things) ea kill 25 Angas in this month - get 100SG (making this a total of 500 monthly SG ) ofc per account not per character

also a solution to those who enjoy "monthly passes" : a monthly SG pack - login and get 25 SG daily for 9,99$ (i know i know this sounds silly but...it will help 1st the player who are willing to spend but cant afford to buy too much and 2nd the game) - those who wanna support the game and feel the need for some fashion can afford 2 SG fashions (if they do it like you mentioned) for just 10 bucks

the monthly packs and monthly missions should be bound to an event that goes until we catched up to jp might even be called something like "run for the fashion" (my english is terrible) - "dear ARKS - we heard your voices and we are here to support you on your hunt for the much anticipated SG fashion with monthly missions and daily login packs"

@Miraglyth @JuggernautGTX

If we were to have SG scratch stretched out to 6 months, we'd never catch up to JP!

One thing to note about SG scratches in JP, they at times have multiple SG Scratches running concurrently. There really isn't a reason why NA can't do the same, so a simple solution that can be done to catch up is to just release multiple SG Scratches at the same time but have them as separate banners.

That seems to be a newer thing? Just reviewing the bumped list (click the SG scratch header here) :

  • Darkness Ruler: 15 Jun 2016 to 14 Dec 2016 - 6 months (Fallen Heroes 1st half)
  • Bright Dark Heroine: 14 Dec 2016 to 14 Jun 2017 - 6 months (Fallen Heroes 2nd half)
  • Mother Cluster Imitation: 14 Jun 2017 to 13 Dec 2017 - 6 months
  • Darkness Conviction: 1 Nov 2017 to 13 Dec 2017 - 6 weeks (Small set - Not sure but is some of this in Fallen Heroes too?)
  • Aether Mother Hope: 13 Dec 2017 to 13 Jun 2018 - 6 months
  • ARKS Battlewear Selection: 13 Jun 2018 to 12 Dec 2018 - 6 months (Some of this has definitely appeared in Mission Pass, including Zamlord, Zelsius and Lark Barbatos. The Lorette set was an SG Shop sale prior to PC launch if I remember.)
  • Advent of Mother: 17 Oct 2018 to 12 Dec 2018 - 2 months (Not a small set?)
  • ARKS Battlewear Selection II: 12 Dec 2018 to 12 Jun 2019 - 6 months
  • Astral Guardian: 19 Jun 2019 to 11 Dec 2019 - 6 months
  • Dark Bright Memory: 23 Oct 2019 to 12 Nov 2019 - 3 weeks? (Some new things but mostly a revival?)
  • Awake Administer: 11 Dec 2019 to 15 Jul 2020 - 7 months
  • Support Item Selection: 31 Jan 2020 to 1 Mar 2020 - 4 weeks (Support items only)
  • ARKS Battlewear Selection: 18 Mar 2020 to 15 Jul 2020 - 4 months (Some new things but mostly a revival?)
  • Support Item Selection: 01 Jul 2020 to 29 Jul 2020 - 4 weeks (Support items only)
  • ??: 15 Jul 2020 to ?? (I'm guessing there's a new long-term set that bumped doesn't have listed yet)

So with a few exceptions (Darkness Conviction, Advent of Mother, Dark Bright Memory, ARKS Battlewear Selection second run) most sets are in for 6 months at a time, and there's the occasional mostly-revival or secondary support scratch which shows there have been concurrent SG scratches yes.

Awake Administer and ARKS Battlewear Selection still going on cause COVID delaying stuff - that's why there's no new SG scratch yet
