SG Tickets are now official. Thoughts?

What's everyone's thoughts on the introduction of the SG tickets?

Personally I think it's insulting given how lacking our ability to obtain SG repeatably is outside of 10 per day through outfits. There have already been tons of complaints about SG, but I really believe that this announcement was absolutely a bad move on SEGA's part.

Also, not to mention that SG scratch seasons usually go for 6 months on JP... this one is barely even 2 months.

This genuinely sums up my thoughts entirely.

I also think a Gachapon system where you can't even trade/sell the items is horrible.

Everything about how Star Gems are done right now on the NA server is absolutely terrible and way too pricey for how little we get.

Wow. I genuinely didn't think it could get worse, but apparently it can v___v

I don't know why they made Star Gems so awful on here.

If that's true, than I'm beyond disappointed. Six months would at least give people a chance to earn Gems overtime (while Fresh Finds is also hounding at your SG) but purposefully lowering the availability says volumes on what kind of marketing SEGA is going for, and it ain't good.

It's a terrible choice.

Since it's SG and presumably untradeable it's worse for people paying $$$ since they can't sell off unwanted stuff, they can only throw them into the awful SG swap shop. The $ price of the ticket is almost double that of an AC ticket too.

It's pointless for f2p players because SG is too limited, and we've had FF nibbling away at what has been available.

The SG scratch makes more sense for JP with more avenues for getting SG and the longer window to go after things.

This would be a good time for NA to add in the other methods of earning SG that are in JP, like by spending Casino Coins, or Challenge Miles... and maybe doing some ARKS League, just like the SG page briefly mentions.

Everyone hated everything to do with SG before this, and now they've added a crazy demanding SG sink. So far they have also neither reinstated an SG source removed from JP (casino) nor given players a reasonable way to earn it.

$4 per scratch isn't completely insane, but it is once you combine it with an inability to trade its output.

To make matters worse, there's the Limited Time SG Swap Shop to consider as well. Everything in that shop that costs 10 items is basically a straight $40 purchase. Everything in there that costs 20 tickets is an $80 purchase. Want that stereo and the two exclusive music disks? That'll be $160. What.

Lol they added MORE stuff into the SG scratch, SHORTENED it to 2 months, give us MORE SG sinks (Fresh Finds/Mission Pass). How can they do this to my Xion hair that I got basically for free on JP... q-q WHY NA WHY DO YOU GREED FOR MY POOR PERSON MONEY

But hey, it's ONLY OPTIONAL, and you don't HAVE to buy into it if you don't want to! /sarcasm

I'm glad I don't really want/need any of those hairstyles or costumes... but I feel terrible for friends of mine that will probably scratch 40 times only to get 1 or 2 things they needed of their 5+ piece costume.

Cosmetics. Don’t want to pay for it? Don’t. You can get 120 Sg a day for most people.

You want to be caught up to Japan yet some people are complaining about this like it’s brand new. It’s always been a thing in JP. Cosmetics in game are always overpriced. Don’t like it, don’t pay for it.

If you can’t find a character look you like in the game by now with all of the available options we have, that’s a personal issue in itself.

I feel like a lot of the problems could be fixed by just making the items tradeable. There's no reason to lock them when AC items are tradable.

@DHG-MumfordsSon But where am i getting 120 sg a day...

also my complaint is that it's worse than jp sg scratch with the HUGE item pool you might as well spend that $160 if youre desperate enough

sheer insanity to roll this out right now on jp rates without jp sg income when you also cut the duration to two months instead of six.

did you guys miss the part where we're being financially impacted by a global health crisis that's getting worse? or is cashing in on the fear of missing out money too alluring?

the abr campaign doesn't even give a full scratch worth of sg.

the pricing NEEDS to change. this model does NOT work with NA tempo. on jp you at least have a glimmer of hope of getting 40 rolls per banner for free. i've barely spent any SG and i only have like 1800, i've gotten all the story sg. that's still another like $80 i'd have to spend.

something about this needs to change or you are going to have a lot of very unhappy people spend their money elsewhere and things will crash and burn before ep4 even gets to drop and i really do not want to see that happen.

microsoft store doesn't even work for half the playerbase still and you have people having to run the game through a third party launcher.

this is sheer, unadulterated insanity. i hope the only engagement this sees is negative so you all burn for your hubris.

The old "Just don't buy it" vote with your wallet is clearly strawman.

There is an issue with how NA is being marketed and monetized when current SG issues that have been discussed numerous times have gone ignored in favor of adding more ways to spend an already dried up SG market.

Opening up discussions about how SG is currently implemented and used is important feedback for SEGA and depending on the player, has a real world financial cost. If people are putting money into a product, I believe it's their right to criticize that product. Don't try to damper a conversation with a topic that has been overused and debunked as anti-consumer and frankly a hindrance to communities.

I could see this alleviating some of the issues, but given NA's current player market I'd be worried on what kind of meseta costs we'd be looking at just from a personal standpoint. But being implemented as non-tradeable is certainly a bad idea, including those who are actually buying the tickets.

I'm sorry but "most" people do not get 120 sg a day.
