Cosmetics. Don’t want to pay for it? Don’t. You can get 120 Sg a day for most people.
You want to be caught up to Japan yet some people are complaining about this like it’s brand new. It’s always been a thing in JP. Cosmetics in game are always overpriced. Don’t like it, don’t pay for it.
If you can’t find a character look you like in the game by now with all of the available options we have, that’s a personal issue in itself.
The old "Just don't buy it" vote with your wallet is clearly strawman.
There is an issue with how NA is being marketed and monetized when current SG issues that have been discussed numerous times have gone ignored in favor of adding more ways to spend an already dried up SG market.
Opening up discussions about how SG is currently implemented and used is important feedback for SEGA and depending on the player, has a real world financial cost. If people are putting money into a product, I believe it's their right to criticize that product. Don't try to damper a conversation with a topic that has been overused and debunked as anti-consumer and frankly a hindrance to communities.

I feel like a lot of the problems could be fixed by just making the items tradeable. There's no reason to lock them when AC items are tradable.
I could see this alleviating some of the issues, but given NA's current player market I'd be worried on what kind of meseta costs we'd be looking at just from a personal standpoint. But being implemented as non-tradeable is certainly a bad idea, including those who are actually buying the tickets.
