Hey, my IGN is Bananas [ship 3]. I am the leader of a big, active Alliance (Gorillas). During peak hrs, we can have 30-40+ members online, forming more than one 12 man group at a time for Ultimates, triggers, Urgents etc. This is relevant because typically in other games I've played, I'd do different events/rewards etc which require me keeping track of my members' activity. Now, it is possible to keep track via Discord channel by having members post SS of Alliance Points etc or making spreadsheets which I have done but it is so much of a hassle. When my officers and I are making multiple "raids" to do stuff together as an Alliance, it takes longer to set up because I cannot just invite them from the Alliance list. We do have a meeting block and that helps but it still takes time. Also, I want to set up specific squads to do fun challenges/ have more efficient runs but I cannot see my members' level/class. Again, there is a way around it by keeping tabs on members through Discord (and we do usually have most, if not all members of the raid in call but still..) but why should we have to go that route? Don't get me started on the fact that the player's char name is usually different to their ID which means, we see a different name in the Alliance chat.. (yes, you get to know some members after a while but it's still annoying).
At the end of the day, I have other Alliance leaders that I've made friends with, disband their Alliance or it just fell apart because of the stress or inability to keep up with their members' activity etc.
