Removing Height Restrictions

well 15+ years ago rl male got called weirdo x-dresser etc...rarely met any male in the games i played who was playing female back in the earlier days of mmos...with the introduction of "ayayayaya" (to keep it short...) this switched and youll see most guys playing short women...some say "theyre doing it because of their gf" and call their character like her...others say they dont like looking at male characters all the time and female simply look better to them...and some even feel "like a girl in their heart" and prefer using a girl character to be what they hardly can be in rl if its fear or what not...and some just find it funny to have short characters swinging large weapons

but never once in my life did i hear anybody saying "i create short cute girls because i feel attracted to children in real life" sure there are some hentai loving trolls who abuse "short characters" in games to act like underaged girls who appear in their fav illegal hentais....but i would never call them the majority of players...more like a tiny minority....3 years ago i wouldn even know what "loli" means and tho thats just refered to tiny characters...never digged deep enough into the internet those days to find what creepy stuff exists

killing the fun for the large majority of players because this tiny minority exists doesn seem fair....considering that those guys use even current models to mirror their fav "loli"....this censorship doesn prevent them from doing it - it only prevents the large majority of players who like short characters without any "sick thoughts" from having fun in their customization

@Saiyunaz YEah like BDO Warrior with the GUTS berserk armour or GUTS in general.

He looks freaking badass.

My personal favorite representation of myself in a video game would be a short male young looking character with an impish-badass behavior. Add a deeper mature voice for a bit of a shock factor that tells others they are being addressed by a cool and calm adult. It's a trope I don't see too often around. If I can make a character like this in game, then that's my main. And if he's able to melee, the better. Here's my old Blade and Soul character

The short time I spent in FFXIV I had a male Lala "boxer". Was fun to see him fighting bosses 30 times his size, but the overall game bored me. I never got past the initial Realm reborn section..

A furry can also play the trope well. Take for example Jubei from BlazBlue. Short fluffy cat with an old samurai's voice and is one of the strongest beings in existence in that lore. And his wife is a tall woman with looks to die for. And let's not forget their super intelligent scientist hybrid cat woman daughter..

Sure, I also create females in many of these games. There's fashion and ample droves of badassery in female characters if properly made. Can make them sexy without making them ridiculously lewd as well. And at least from my perspective, giving more elegance to a female character makes them look more pleasant to the eye, and in some cases also shows the level of care a player has for their characters, which often says a good deal about the person behind them. Sure, I've met great people who use "joke" characters in games, but they are less numerous than the troll types from my experience.

And lastly, as tall manly dudes go, guys like Kratos, Guts, Kenshiro, Solid Snake and some others, are fan favorites that I also vouch for. On the multiplayer created character side, I also grew fond of my Kritika berserker from the now offline Enmasse version of the game. He was truly badass and I could play it in an always forward, not caring type. Like a steamroll tank. Here are some vids I made of him when people in the old forums were complaining about that class being underpowered against some bosses.

And let the good lulz roll!

@Alexandrious947 Nah, no need to get anyone riled up cause:

https://www.justice.gov/osg/brief/ashcroft-v-free-speech-coalition-merits

The Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996 (CPPA), prohibits, inter alia, the shipment, distribution, receipt, reproduction, sale, or possession of any visual depiction that "appears to be[] of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct." 18 U.S.C. 2252A, 2256(8)(B) (Supp. V 1999). It also contains a similar prohibition concerning any visual depiction that is "advertised, promoted, presented, described, or distributed in such a manner that conveys the impression that the material is or contains a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct." 18 U.S.C. 2252A, 2256(8)(D) (Supp. V 1999). The question presented is whether those prohibitions violate the First Amendment to the Constitution.

The Act does not cover drawings, cartoons, sculptures, and paintings that depict youthful-looking persons in sexual poses; it supplies an affirmative defense to persons who disseminate visual depictions involving adults who may appear to be children, provided that the depictions are not promoted or presented as child pornography, 18 U.S.C. 2252A(c) (Supp. V 1999)

Based on this, there is legal precedent under US law for PSO2 to be able to remove its censorships as it does not promote nor present itself as child pornography. This is a legal precedent set forth by a Supreme Court case.

Furthermore, 18 U.S. Code § 1466A. states:

Any person who, in a circumstance described in subsection (d), knowingly produces, distributes, receives, or possesses with intent to distribute

This means there must actually be an intent behind to create and distribute child pornography. Sega would not be a person that knowingly produces or has an intent to produce child pornography.

Not to mention, there are precedents set by other games that are far more explicit that go by uncensored, such as Senran Kagura.

This was in past posts too, so might as well put them in a set. Also, be careful about trying to stir up a commotion, people got banned for that as it was discovered they were doing so to get threads closed to prevent discussion.

Based on that, if Sega removes height restriction, ppl will then want smaller breast size aka flat chest, which I seen on JP PSO2. Then they will be free to make flat chested flat hipped looking characters with little girl like voices that moan out when hit in combat. Which according to what I linked. Will get the FBI on you. 😬

@Alexandrious947 No it actually wouldn't. What you linked is based around the sexual abuse of children, which making a child-like character does not equate to. If that was the case, shouldn't Nintendo be shut down? I remember Orcarina of Time portraying a child Link.

Senran Kagura has Mirai, who is quite literally designed to be the loli character.

Fate/Grand Order has characters like Jack the Ripper as a loli that wears a thong with no pants and has an English version available in North America.

There are plenty of games where if those laws worked the way you say they do, other companies would have gotten hit by lawsuits by now.

PSO2 doesn't have any content where your character can can do sexual thigs let alone sexual abuse. This isn't a hentai game.

he even stated that he dated japanese women who had the "proportional appearance" of a 13 years old anime kid - yet he calls people who want to create small characters in a video game "pedo" or "sexualize children" and is heavily "against height censorship in game" but dating short - child looking girls in real life - hence my double standards replies to him...he basically countered himself with this statement - wich also proves how hilarious it is to say "short characters are all children - and being abused by pedophile"

also for everybody who says "oh my god makin short characters is against law"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAzZwqwl6p0

this game is called IMVU available for 13 and above also available in the west - you can make super short characters in there or actually make them look like kids and dress them with the available 100000+ outfits - this game exists for decades....with this said the opposing side will need to think of something else to justify a censorship

Oh boy double standards!!

@JuggernautGTX This is why I blocked him, that and his trolling behaviour. He's saying anyone against censorship of the game, are trying to sexualize something, and yet his mind is the only one doing it. Well besides others that showed their true intent on here, and got banned for it. Also, he could go and make his own thread as to why censorship should stay, and everyone could make their argument for or against, in a fair, un-argumentative behavior, but instead, they tell the GM's to shut down, and silence anything they don't like or agree with.

This dude, among many of those pro censorship, tend to lack common composure skills to argue their point, in fair, and reasonable ways, so the thread eventually devolves into a dumpster fire, filled with hate, and the thread gets locked, thus giving these fools what they really want, a way to silence us. Sounds like a fascist maneuver to me, but what do I know. Freedom of speech and expression, doesn't give one the right to silence the rights of another, and yet, those rights become more like privileges that can be taken away on online forums, due to ToS forms, User Agreements, and by extension, the ToS enforced code of conduct.

These people know that, and use it to their advantage, and goad us all into fruitless arguments, that none of us should even be wasting time with. That's why I just block people when I see them trying to pull that on me. I give them my final thoughts, and block them, because nothing you say or do will ever get them to even attempt to look at these views through the eyes of another.

I love it when trolls do a really bad job of trolling people and end up just making themselves upset.

Yea. Time for some tough hard cold facts. Btw, I wasnt trolling, if I was it would be so over your head your brain would explode.

Cuz from here on out, ima lay the hard truth of why Sega, who is Pro Censorship btw. Will never, ever, no matter how much the MINORITY thats you guys wanting to remove both height and chest adjustment censorships, will never, ever, get your way. Ever.

Now its time to unleash the Excalibur to end this stupid debate once and for all. And I will repeat this exact post, again, and again, and again, because you, nor anyone else who wants this censor removed, can argue against it without admitting to what you really are.

Behold.

SEGA is Pro-Censorship. They will continue to BE Pro-Censorship for our version because in our LAWS.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1466A

And because of these LAWS. What YOU all want, Prime Example HERE. From the JP Client posted by a JP Player.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=TFGf9bGO2kg&feature=emb_logo

AND

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3zItijuLdA&feature=emb_rel_pause

Goes COMPLETELY against it. For anyone who Mods it in, and gets found out about it, taking vids or screenshots of it, will not only lead to a PERMANENT BAN on your account, but also will lead to

https://youtu.be/Pht-hwDtBxk

Deal with it.

This post is deleted!

@Alexandrious947 nothing in pso2 JP would go against laws - but the symbol arts could if anybody abuses them to show "lolicon"....the height recstriction has nothing to do with it...IMVU can create actual children and its still available in the west! so whatever you are trying to prove cannot be proven - characters in pso2 cannot have sex or go into sexual acts - as easy as that

"(B)For purposes of subsection 8(B) [1] of this section, “sexually explicit conduct” means— (i)graphic sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, whether between persons of the same or opposite sex, or lascivious simulated sexual intercourse where the genitals, breast, or pubic area of any person is exhibited; (ii)graphic or lascivious simulated; (I)bestiality; (II)masturbation; or (III)sadistic or masochistic abuse; or (iii)graphic or simulated lascivious exhibition of the anus, genitals, or pubic area of any person;"

now pleas show us where in pso2 that can happen...if pso2 would go against "laws" it could go against laws even with the height restriction - but it does not so whatever you say makes zero sense

and please dont throw your double standards on us....just because you date child looking girls in real life to live your fetish (as you already mentioned in the screen i sent a couple replies before) doesn mean that everybody has the same fetish as you and wants to abuse child looking characters in a game - but even if there are some people who share your fetish - they cannot do it as there are no sexual acts possible in pso2...please dont mirror your own -insert rant- mind on others
