Removing Height Restrictions

@Ashlette-Era "MY IMMERSION THOUGH! You're killing it! Not all these people running around in swimsuits. Not the birds running around in jackets. Not any of the sharks. BUT THOSE SHORT PEOPLE! THEY'RE KILLING IT!"

gtfo lol.

I like how you are assuming what I think. Seems like a method some of you employ when you encounter someone you disagree with.

And yes, I will not address your point, since I never said that.

And no, I will not be intimidated by you.

Ditto for the memester post two posts below.

@Ashlette-Era Explain how it is too much?

Just cause the voice actors are short AF and some people are short AF and want to play a short AF character it breaks yer immersion?

If anything, NOT having them breaks the immersion.

Especially as a Cast who could be configured to specific sizes to meet specific moments or jobs.

You can already play a character that meets NA's height restriction. That was part of my previous post.

Well, one scene that was cut from the story isn't in episode 4, the bath scene apparently. So yea they censored the hell out of the story in episode 4 sooo that's to be expected lol. I hate it but whatever I guess, at this point asking for the height restrictions is like talking to a brick wall that isn't even there. You guys can keep fighting but I don't know if we'll get it before episode 6, sadly.

Realistically speaking (and i am guilty of trailing off topic here) this is about removing the height restrictions. This isnt a place to call people pedos or perves or anything of the sort. Youre entitled to your opinion but that doesnt make it right, ok or valid. Theres a reason the folks who were here before no longer post. This thread is dead and beyond pointless

Welp, I'm extremely close to uninstalling the game now. "All the content" my ass considering the game's rated M now. Gonna have to think about this a bit more, but I'm pretty miffed.

So we are now suddenly playing the China build or something?

Looks like nothing's stopping them from cutting out even more content at this rate. Just consume product and be excited for next product.

No amount of discussion is going to sway their minds as they clearly have no interest in even looking our direction. It's great that the GMs are delivering our message to them, but without any response from their end, how are we to believe that they've received anything at all?

The GMs are not even touching this thread anymore. We're just supposed to deal with this and enjoy what remains of the original source material.

Now, I will admit, the new content and QoLs are giving me second thoughts about censoring. I mean, when you can bend your character in a micro pantsu in an emote window you can stretch to fill the whole screen, then zoom that tiny pantsu close enough to appreciate every single pixel of the 512x512 butt texture of a digital young girl, you get to actually feel what those wanting to enforce censors feel. Sure, I wouldn't have censored the height. Instead i would have censored the outfits just a little. Not too much to enrage, but enough to remove the near porn status some of these can be made into.

@ZorokiHanuke people dont want censorship period, a little here and there is still censorship. If sexy outfits is an issue for you id have to say youre playing the wrong game. Then again. This thread is about the Height Restriction. (also there are no "young girls" in Arks. They are women)

And that's exactly why I said I wouldn't limit height. Yet trying to understand the nay sayers, I think I get where they come from. But really, from what I'm seeing, height was the wrong thing to censor if they wanted to censor something, in my opinion. And while censor is censor no matter how big or small it is, we have to live with the fact that the NA region has a different mindset towards these kinds of things compared to JP.

On the other hand, games like Blade and Soul and Tera (after a few years) have proven that keeping short characters and not censoring anything else have not raised any cultural nor moral problems. In fact, Tera went through something similar to what we are going through with this game when they decided preemptively to censor the Elin outfits before the game even released, and many people rose the issue to the point that nowadays, even some of those old censored outfits were reverted to their Kr uncensored forms, kind of proving that the audience's wish for the original unaltered product was stronger than any pro-censor thinking.

It's hilarious they treat you like a 7 year old playing an M rated game- all the while throwing skimpy bikinis, pole dance and chair dances at you.

Well- NA has shown their stance. The game can die for all I care. I'll go back to JP.

It is quite interesting that they finally raised the "T" rating to "M" only to have the game censored even more. What was even the point?

While we definitely won't be g etting the humanoid mini-suits- I'd be surprised if we would even get the school swimsuit there that Io is wearing. It's funny they use that image from JP when they'll likely not ever give us that cosmetic.

It's just adding insult to injury. They know exactly what they're doing. This censorship really shouldn't exist with an M rating. There has to be some higher up with a moral high ground in control of all of this. We're just left to assume all of this because they refuse to communicate with us.

The worst of all is that they won't lose out on their bottom line for not talking to us. There will always be more people playing the game that don't know or even care about the censorship.

I'm curious now about if any of the end-of-episode bath scenes were left intact. One scene features the kid again and the other doesn't, maybe they'd have left the other one alone? At least that would explain their fucking problem. Anyone curious about missing scenes will have to find them on YouTube or something, I guess.

But yeah, this has gone as expected. I tried to be optimistic, but by this point it's obvious that SEGA/Microsoft hasn't said shit about the height restriction because they never were gonna say shit about the height restriction, or anything censorship-related for that matter, and they just expect us to sit here and take it. I'm not mad that they're doing it, I'm mad that they don't have the backbone to admit why they're doing it, even though this subject has been raging ever since XBox release. It's a completely awful display of customer relations.

Sadly I don't have a JP account to escape to, so unless they suddenly let us transfer our EN accounts to JP, I'm stuck with what we have here. All I can do is hope that things are different with NGS... but I'm not holding my breath.

@SLthePyro I'm suspecting it to be more Msoft behind this than Sega but I'm just tinfoil hatting that thought. As far as the rest of the episodes, yeah we're fkd in NA because its not going to change.

I do think though that it probably won't be an issue with NG because they're going into it with the intent that it'll be "global" from the start so they will probably do away with "controversal" stuff from the beginning to have smoother releases of content by not having to alter stuff for different regions. The only thing that has a good chance at being different again would be the height values.
