@PhantasyStar369 my estimate is they will announce the OBT 2-3 weeks before it opens and then send the time inbetween releasing details about costs and things of that nature.

Consider reasons why they (the community team) would be unresponsive to such requests from a business perspective.

Yeah, we'd appreciate less mocking, btw. Please don't assume things are as easy as you believe them to be. There's still quite a few things to get done to ensure a smooth Open Beta.

Then how about elaborating on what needs to get done to ensure a smooth Open Beta? How about some info on what you are actually doing? What is being fixed, if anything? Instead of posting garbage on twitter about "hoping" this is one of the last few weekends without PSO2. Always vague answers and nothing concrete.

You seem to forget that many of us have been burned by Sega back in 2012 when it was announced it was coming west and playable at PAX. Then Sega stopped saying anything. Pretty disrespectful to the playerbase.

Closed Beta comes, on a game 8 years old, and when it ends all info just stops. I find it hard to believe that an 8 year old game, that was running great in closed beta (besides the initial launch) requires that much work on it. Unless you are censoring, changing fundamental systems, etc. If you are, why not let people know? Shouldn't we know beforehand so we can test/look forward to those very things in Open Beta?

They don't tell you what they are doing because they aren't allowed to tell you what they are doing. That is how ALL businesses are.

You have to remember the community people are not always privvy to the information you want to know either. Complaining to them and or mocking their efforts to at least keep in contact and communicate with us doesn't help. I thank you for your work admins.

I remember the huge errors and login issues during the ff14 open beta. And the crapfest that created on the forums.

You say that beta's should have bugs, but realistically no one really expects them to. People always complain about the game not running properly. Or not being able to login.

Maybe?

Or Independant Contactor Clause?

Either way, it isnt their fault they can't share it, it is whoever the bossman is.

@Taimara-Syn I remember following that discussion thread. I checked it about once a day for almost 2years.

I also realize that this is a completely different situation. If 2months from now there are no tweets or forum posts and haven't been for a month or so. Then I'll be on your side.

I don't think that will happen though.

Without making it sound that passive aggressive to the thin line of hitting aggressive towards them, I'll definitely say that everyone including yourself who has waited 8 years for this game could wait for another month or two when they already gave people the taste of Closed Beta Test on how NA PSO2 will look like. It really does not hurt to wait for few more weeks and few months especially when spring is really on the spot. They aren't even making it go away this time. But saying it rude just closes thread which no one wants to see that happen, and it just gets you into trouble.

@Taimara-Syn first off... the Community Team (ESTsoft) arent the actual devs, that would be SEGA of Japan who will be handling the servers and updates as well. As far as the Community Team knows... the game's ready when they say its ready and while there may be a particular date SEGA JP's working towards... they wont say anything until they are sure the date will be met.

Second off... you seem to forget the Xbox One port isnt eight years old and glitches did in fact pop up during Closed Beta, there was a lot of unfinished localization, features that weren't working, etc. All things that must be taken into account.

@GM-Deynger possible March sometime? @_@ the only reason I am in a rush to get on is to see if the money I put on my Xbox account can be used on Pso2. Been putting in on there just so I don't spend it on anything else other then Pso2 stuff.

If it is on a North American Microsoft/XBOX account, you should be able to use it on the game, since that is how all MMOs on consoles normally are. They normally allow you to buy the game's currency on the store for use in the game.

I hope that going forward, we can be more civil towards both the mods and each other.

That said, I would not be surprised to see an update next week. I would bet we'll be getting some form of open Beta before the end of March, but I would not be upset provided the game becomes accessible in some form during the first half of April.

I mean, I won't really be upset either way, just sad.

The answer to that will be a Yes. As long as you are on Xbox then it won't be a problem spending money. Hopefully got US Xbox currency to spend on the game

I have a hernia operation on March 11 and will be at home for 3 weeks afterwards, fingers are crossed but release dates are suck a fickle thing.

@Metaltpunk best of luck with both your operation and the game's timing!

@Ragnawind and @PhantasyStar369 Thank you both! I am still new to Xbox gaming.. And was reading things online that some MMOs do not allow it. So I wasn't sure where Phantasy Star would stand on it. Just wish an official yes or no would come in. Thanks again for giving me hope!
