Can confirm pretty much what HarmlessSyan said. There was a bit of an outcry but nothing in game and nothing to big according to some of my JP players.

Anyway, the NA server has made alot of changes and most of them have not been for the best interest for the players or the server itself. Now that the games been out I think people are starting to see these changes and migrating to the JP server as a result. Everyone thats gone to the JP server ahead of me has told me the difference is astonishing and not just from content. Yeah the JP server has more content but it also has more freedom, more details. It really does give you the PSO2 experience. The NA server might not look like it but its been picked apart, core systems have been removed and changed and altered for the worst and now that people are starting to see that we might be witnessing a bit of a crumble.

I am fine waiting for new content to be added, introducing 8 years of content in a lunch could be bad so i understand their reasoning to do so, thats not my issue, my issue has always been the devs made questionable and downright awful changes to a lot of things to the point where its not even recognizable on the JP server anymore. I didn't wait 8 years to get a watered down, changed and altered full of restrictions PSO2 experience, I want the true experience and the if the NA devs are unwilling to give me that experience, well, its a good thing I got a JP server with a translation patch ready to go.

Can you be a little less Vague? you go on about "Core systems" and "PSO2 experience" but what exactly are you referring too?

For now. My premium runs out in a week and once it does I'll be migrating to the JP server unless the devs start addressing some of these changes. The one thats really driving me insane is the Height Restriction they put on the character creator, preventing us from making short or small characters and in some cases downright preventing players from importing their characters altogether.

I don't see them changing this sadly. I'm guessing there are laws in the US or something that would otherwise change the rating of the game if they allowed this. I noticed this to be the case for a lot of games that come to the US and other western countries. They always seem to censor/ restrict small characters.

I think at the very least they should allow as low as 145cm as this is still a realistic height for many adult females and some unlucky males .

@SleeprunnerInc it might not sound like a bad idea to you... but it does in terms if being able to market the game to people who havent kept up with the game since its original 2013 English announcement... plus theres very little reason to play much of the older content as a result. Your reasoning makes sense if SEGA were aiming to get English players off of JP... not so much when they have to introduce the game to a new audience. To quote the community team:

I have played JP for many years and im not too bothered by many of the changes. If the game feels watered down, we have a content roadmap now showcasing when we can expect future features to be made available; Episode 4's release brings back Bonus Quests, Crafting, Battle Mode, etc. And Episode 5's update during an unannounced Quarter 3 date brings Successor Classes (or as NA calls em; Scion Classes)... its all really down to patience. If you cant wait well... no one says you have to stick around through things, if you want everything JP has now... then theres JP, but this is the NA version being marketed at a new audience who very few know whats been going on in JP for the past eight years...

They could have easily dropped crafting and the like immediatly in to the game if all they wanted was the story to unfold.

The Episodes could have been released in parts so people can play through the main story at their leisurely pace while letting others focus on everything else like crafting etc.

Sure it makes some weapons completely useless for the most part if you really care about minmaxing but it also lets people have the full experience cause right now, alot of people are leaving the game due to the issues we have and others are going back to JP due to the changes we have.

If we already played on the JP servers like alot of people have, they have no reason ATM to stick to NA other than Ping.

They can't bring their characters over, there is little to do and the playerbase? It's kinda terrible.

The game is very old and alot of people are reading guides, checking out what tehy can do, then they get hyped and install the NA version and reality hits....

Time will tell if the NA version will get up to speed properly or if it will be watered down constantly and have features missing, broken or outright badly implemented.

i mean, its a big diff than the jp version. and on ship 2 are enough english players to play it normaly..

there are so many different i would never play on na. also bcs i cant make a char the size i want. small. lol

Ship 1 is very active and populated also.

Blade and Soul, Tera, and a few other mobile MMOs (pretty much all from Korea) allow very small very child like characters in their NA versions. They are M rated games, but I still wonder why those games managed to get such characters ported to NA in a M rated game, and yet we have Sega and MS shying away at the prospect of allowing players to make characters they had access to create in previous Phantasy Star games. I mean, both PSO and the Universe series allowed for very small characters. And nobody said anything about those games. Perhaps Sega is just going ahead of the time again, and foreseeing that cancel culture will eventually find it's way to all those currently running Korean games and have them removed off NA because of those characters?

@AzureCrownMalfest No, there's no fuss. OP whined they can't play a minor considered height. Here it got changed due to law in most countries this version touches. They can stay on Japan, rather not have lolicons here. Trying to defend this out here is flat out gross. If people want to play JP then they can stay there and let us have fun here, we don't need their whining here.
