How to Block specific Symbol Arts

How to block specific Symbol Arts

  • From your menu go to System (The one that looks like gears), then Symbol Art.
  • At the top will be a tab that says Saved Lists. It's a drop down menu, and one of the options is History (Standard)
  • From there you can see the symbol arts you've seen in the past. You can click choose to Save/Block or whatever.

Other useful in-game info

How to report inappropriate behavior in-game

  • Easiest way I found is to use the Community tab (it looks like two people chatting)
  • Then Nearby Characters where you can see a character list.
  • Click the offending person's name and select Miscellaneous
  • The only option there is Report This Player
  • Once you click that it will ask for a Report Category and confirmation.

You can also report them through Xbox in-game. Same method as before, but...

  • In the character list choose View GamerCard
  • then Report or block , choose Report
  • There will be a drop-down menu with Select a reason choose whatever reason fits the problem
  • and then write-in the problem in the Tell us more (optional) box.
  • Once complete hit Report to Xbox

Other notes...

  • If reporting a player through the website support system for inappropriate Symbol Arts, make sure to grab the Symbol Arts ID from your Symbol Arts history and include it in the report.

  • Blacklisting seems to be in the game via Whisper from the Nearby Players menu. (Though may not be reversible, so beware. ) You can enter /bl into the Whisper chatbox with an individual and supposedly no longer see any messages or Symbol Arts from that person. (I've not personally tested this because it would be difficult to prove it works without trying to blacklist a friend... which I won't risk if it's not reversible.)

Thanks to everyone helping with info. 💗

I choose not to block said symbol art so I can actually report them every time they appear. I'd recommend more people report as well.

I'm just sharing info so people can better make the decisions they need to to keep enjoying the game. If you can do that while still enjoying the game, nice.

Is there a way to block a particular player's symbol art?

This is the one game where I value blacklist over others because of how disruptive symbol art can be. The problem is that certain players spam hate / porn and the sensible thing to do is to block the player, and not have to repeatedly block their slightly-updated nude. 😕

This feature was available in JP (you could block all text from a player by right-clicking them) but:

  • I can't tell if the Xbox Live "block" feature affects PSO2 symbol art in NA
  • The supposed Blocklist manual (https://pso2.com/manual/communication/blacklist) does NOT say it blocks symbol art and also this option isn't available in-game on PC

@CNJL

I haven't found a way to do it, though I've been looking. I've sent messages to support and asked around other places. I tried the blocking the Xbox tag and it didn't seem to have an effect on me seeing the user's symbol arts or chat in-game. I'll try it again at the next concert I attend to be certain.

Still waiting to test this. Had to reinstall yesterday.

Last time I tried the Xbox block I didn't see any more chat or Symbol Arts in-game from that person. Though that could be a coincidence and they just stopped talking. xD

Be careful to do this in your personal quarters...

The other day I went to block one while standing in the shopping area. The first option is to share it, and my mouse click went off on that... and it was an extremely NSFW image...

So now I just go through them when in my personal quarters and block there, just in case...

I haven't seen an option for this. Only for blocking.

The other day I found one in my history that was a certain mid 20th-century German flag... I'd have reported it if I knew how. But instead I blocked - which has me fill in a reason, so I assumed it was also reporting.

You can add an individual to the blacklist by whispering the person and typing /bl in the chat box

You have to report the person who sent it, not the symbol art itself. Meaning you have to use nearby players when you see the symbol art.

There is no way to undo that currently though, so careful.

@coldreactive @Whitney98902150 @Vashzaron Thanks for the additional info.

And @Kichwas Thanks for the warning! This hadn't happened to me, but I can see how it easily could.

Will they actually take action if you report via Nearby Players, or do you need to put in a support ticket through the website?

I'm not really sure. I haven't seen any in-game mods. Reporting through the site just mean they send you an automated e-mail, so I dunno how much better that is. Though they do indicate you can respond to the e-mail with more details, they never responded to mine.
