inappropriate symbol art spam

@Seed-Faux Now your just ignoring half of what I said and cherry picking to prove your claim as right.

Most people have been doing that in this mess of a thread.

@SonoVulpin I'm not right about anything, you are the one dragging a conversation out to create a non-existent argument.. again you really should block me if I'm causing you so many problems. And i saw no cherries in your conversation to pick.

@Seed-Faux Now your just derailing my thread 3 troll post in back to back within a minute good job troll.

@Ship04 Isn't that like every debate ever though ?

@Dracoco1214 sadly it is because some people can't back up their claims so they resort to lying, cherry picking, putting words into people's mouth, and trolling.

@Dracoco1214 I agree ... every thread these days. Im bored with this one anyway, going back to the game... ~luv n' peace @SonoVulpin you have yet to offer cherries. I'm disappointed.

@SonoVulpin

  1. If they're a troll, stop feeding them.
  2. Moderators do take action on reported items that go against TOS. Sorry it's not as instant as you've been conditioned to expect.
  3. They gave you helpful suggestions indicating you had the power to mostly solve your problem on your own, but you are closed to the notion.
  4. I'm certain they referenced the ability to delete players due to the second part of point 2. ^ (edit: so I wouldn't really consider that putting words in your mouth, more just making an assumption based on your desire to stop these but your refusal to use the tools suggested and/or to wait.

Short of removing all Symbol art or players from the game, you're gonna see this issue.

@Stretcharach

  1. I did
  2. Moderators don't control it enough clearly since some games with similar systems were able to completely keep it under-control.
  3. No people have just made excuses for it like "It happens in JP so it happen in NA deal with it" "Some people think it fun so deal with it". An some have just said insults like snowflake to justify the spamming of porn and racist symbol art in public chats.
  4. He claims I want a delete button to ban all users from the game that not what I said plz find were I said that and tell me. I assure you I didn't nor will you find were i did.

Also last point I'll make If you posted one of these symbol arts on the forums you'd be temp banned from the forums for a week for doing so yet it ok if it spammed them in game chats why?

@SonoVulpin

  1. Fine
  2. Similar but not the same system, they'll need to remove it to accomplish what you wish.
  3. Then here are my suggestions. Report abusers, block abusers, block specific symbol arts, and then keep doing that until you're done playing the game, if ever.
  4. Clearly you don't want to actually delete users, that would just hurt the games population. What you want is more moderators and for them to move more quickly on reported content, which is a reasonable request. However, given Sega's track record here as well as in the past(and the fact that any user can copy to use/spam the same SA likely more quickly than a moderator can ban an account), an unreasonable expectation, which is what those saying "It happens here because it happens in JP so get over it" mean.

Edit: to your last point I'd argue that the moderators for the forums are a different group than those for the game, and that there is much less text to go through on the forums vs. the game.

@Stretcharach That last part is more to ask why the same people telling me to deal with it in game and accept it in game don't on the forums. What the difference between spamming it on the forums or spamming it in game exactly? If your fine with it being spammed in game why do you hate when people want spam it in the forums? Why try to justify it in one part of the community but not in other parts?

@SonoVulpin That's honestly a good question I don't have an answer for. I'd guess something due to the permanency of a forum post vs. a message in game, even if that same message is being spammed to the point it may as well be permanent.

I can't remember the details but I recall hearing that Sega hired a 3rd party to moderate the forums (not sure about in game mods) and that the chat feature in game was actually based on Microsoft's? server or at the very least separated from the servers hosting the actual game. I read this was a common occurrence for stability (sometimes chat dies in game but you can still load other areas, etc). Potentially some toe-stepping going on in order to moderate in game.

To be transparent, I don't care one way or another about the moderation on forums or in game beyond just being able to participate in the community (like this). Generally I agree with you in that if there is something that can be reasonably done to cull NSFW spammers (or any spammers I guess) it should be, but like many here I don't see Sega caring enough about it to make a change big enough to enable that.

To this point, I've only reported gold spammers as the spamming doesn't bother me personally at all.

@SonoVulpin may be a shot in the dark but I am not sure the GMs have the authority to deny someone or remove someone's access to the game.

My guess would be that even if they saw it happen in front of them, they would still have to send it to the proper JP authority to have them dish out the punishment.

Could be mistaken, but I have seen individuals surround GMs and intentionally post racist/sexual SA and went about their merry way. Perhaps they can do the communication ban on their end, but not even sure about that.

Just turn off symbol arts or black list and report if you feel the symbol art is going way too far and eventually you won't see ones that bother you. The game is rated M, so I can't really agree with the think of the children logic, as it's not a game geared for kids clearly. However, there are folks going too far with it, but I can deal.

It's not even listed on the ESRB's website, so I'm rather skeptical especially considering some costumes that are available in the game. Hell, in Japan the game is rated CERO D, which is the essentially the ESRB equivalent of an M rating, 17+.
