Alliance Overhaul Needed: Collaboration

Before I start I want a few key points addressed. I read through 19 pages here and another 10 on Reddit and a older PSO forum to try and get as many points across as possible that me and other members have made about the ALLIANCE system part of the game. I will link the original posts from this website here as I forgot to do them as I was going through reddit. These have all been discussed and may have even been responded to but though to get the point across it would be a good idea to put them all in one location. Please feel free to add to this if I may have forgotten something. Also note that even though atm there are currently a lot of issues that need addressing first (like the PC launch), our Alliances still need some tweeking and better formats. When everyone is playing and having fun, this is a big factor for a lot of people and I just didn't want these to be forgotten. Hopefully a few of these will come soon and I have no doubts that things will change for the better. The GM'S have helped us get many things (like that harder mode, those referrals, more urgent quest, those collabs, the PC founder pack, and the other things we have mentioned) and are still helping us get our voices heard (for things like mission pass tradable, account based items, ship transfers, new ship openings, better SG acquisitions and "sales"). I want to make it easy for them to see and relay that message. Please if you have any other ideas don't be hesitant to post. I agree with all these ideas that we all worked together on. And know that down the line there will be some positive change.

Alliance Issues not in any Particular order.

• Show in nearby all players who are/are not currently in an alliance so Scouting is easier. (Could be name color change or something).

• Make it there is no limit to how many people can scout you. (Example a member that wanted to join could not be sent an invite because 5 Alliance where already scouting them even if they didn’t want to join them.)

• Make it so Players with more than 5 scouters already are removed from Alliance scouting section looking for an Alliance if the limit cannot be removed.

• Make it easier for new players to deny/accept these applications.

• When a player request to join an Alliance, and you have an email notification from in game Mail. Allow for officer/Leader to send invite from there or accept them from there by clicking on their name in mail.

• Allow for option to toggle voice party area in Alliance Quarters. Allow members inside to mute if wanted.

• Outside of having group/alliance chat. Give option to Mass Mail all Alliance members.

• Give option for Leader/Officers to track each player’s login time (last login date).

• Give option for leader/officer to track each individual player Alliance Points per week/month.

• Give ability to lock Clan Symbol Art.

• Make Clan Symbol Art sticker

• Ability to use Alliance accessory with Clan registered Symbol Art.

• Ability to buy/add more accessories to register as Alliance.

• Ability to customize alliance accessory for better fit in salon.

• Ability to join a party/form a party from within the Alliance Quarters.

• Ability to not leave your alliance party to go back in to your quarters to get Tree effect. Or for auto multi-block restart when you return. (rejoin party)

• Ability to start quest from within the Alliance Quarters.

• The ability to look at what is inside Alliance storage or to store but not access withdraw for non-Premium members.

• Ability for “ALLIANCE ONLY” Servers/Block REGISTRATION. As either when Log in rule- Bring me to Block XXX first if not full. Or Ability for paid Block membership similar to Battlefield.

• More rank Progression or at least one more between member and officer.

• Ability for Leader to pick and choose what each rank member can and cannot do. i.e an officer can do this but not this. Similar to Warframe’s Clan management system.

• Ability to change rank names. Example, instead of member: Knight, Leader: King etc.

• Ability to add furniture in Alliance Headquarters, and extra expansion area. Especially mini games or hangout lounge.

• Ability for Bar interactions similar to how food/drinks show in café when sitting at a table.

• Alliance multi Parties. When running Urgent Quest and all alliances are in same block, ability for max 12 parties to be broken up into 3 Alliance parties to join up without lock alliance based room. (The password way setting, in case there is less than 12)

• Correct number character display on Message board. Messages cut off when characters still exist.

• Better Alliance point tally for Members, View top Alliance better navigations and variants.

• Ghost members or auxiliary station to make alliance quarters not seem so dead sometimes. NPC’s like the Front desk.

  • Better reply message system, to members/recruits.

I would also like to add: A better Tree system. At the current state it is a little hard to tell how much/ when the tree will need to be watered. (When dying, a little is never enough, and sometimes when it is healthy giving it more than needed is a waste of AP points.) A recommendation would be a health bar for the tree and a how much each water would recover it.

AP Cap removed. I am usually done with the AP standing on the first day, but AP is needed for most of the alliance systems. Currently at 600,000k and AP is needed for tree level up and maintenance. I think if removing the AP cap, this will make Alliances a lot more competitive as some of the newer alliance will be able to rank up AP and compete with those that started early. As some Alliances are in the millions, there is currently no way to compete with other alliances. I am aware of the weekly AP redbox and ap for the week standing (As we been in the top 20's) but still it is annoying when we can't go past a certain barrier. I do think this will level the playing feel as more alliances will want to compete with each other and run more alliance point missions.

There seems to also be a glitch with text 120/120. The rest of the words do not show up in the alliance message board.

Ability for longer messages or pins.

Nothing yo uare asking for will be even considered. Big changes will only come if they are implemented in Japan. NA won't make any major change on their own.

• Make it there is no limit to how many people can scout you. (Example a member that wanted to join could not be sent an invite because 5 Alliance where already scouting them even if they didn’t want to join them.)

Similar to the "Infinite items" thread that I got hounded for. This was pointed out by Austin Hourigan in their Minecraft video about game limitations. While I don't doubt there isn't enough alliances to non-alliance players to reach this limit, it would be better if the limit is higher, such as 15 or so.

Allow members inside to mute if wanted.

This is already a setting in PSO2 on PC.

Give option to Mass Mail all Alliance members.

This is actually feasible, considering the game has the ability to send mail to all officers and higher about changes made to the alliance expansions/etc.

Give option for leader/officer to track each individual player Alliance Points per week/month.

This probably won't happen, since it's common for people to get kicked without warning, and JP doesn't like that kind of behavior. Even Final Fantasy XIV doesn't have a log for how many Free Company EXP people generate per action. Just an overall meter of Free Company EXP to the next Free Company Rank. I'm guessing there are serious server-related network infrastructures related to this anyway that could cause problems. (IE: the downside would be to have a long load time, so that the information is only sent to people when requested by the Alliance dialogue. Rather than it always being readily available.)

Ability to customize alliance accessory for better fit in salon.

I've actually seen some cases where the planets were nearly flat disks due to positioning that some people have, and some of them managed to get them orbiting around unsheathed weapons somehow. Or close to it.

Ability to join a party/form a party from within the Alliance Quarters.

Ability to not leave your alliance party to go back in to your quarters to get Tree effect. Or for auto multi-block restart when you return. (rejoin party)

Not possible unless the block system was completely removed. Which will never happen.

The ability to look at what is inside Alliance storage or to store but not access withdraw for non-Premium members.

Likely similar to my network infrastructure reason. Which is why only premium users can view it.

Ability to add furniture in Alliance Headquarters, and extra expansion area. Especially mini games or hangout lounge.

Probably wouldn't work with the whole being able to relocate to a different place system. Would cause all the furniture to get moved into alliance storage.

No big changes that are requested in NA will happen without first happening in JP. NA is an extra if anything. If they don't do it in there, very low chances we'll have any change in here and since they're not reading these requests and ideas from NA...

@ERICK001BC you raised several good points and the ability to rename the rankings in your alliance is a great idea though that ability should be restricted to the leader aka founder of said alliance

Please, all of this. This game has the worst alliance/guild/clan management system I have ever seen. It is extremely painful for all alliances to try and manage rosters.

I am begging Sega to do something about this. It is ridiculous that as an alliance leader, I am unable to see the last login date or the amount of AP earned (weekly and total.)

It would also be nice to be able to edit rankings/permissions other than the basic four.

How has nothing been done yet??? The game has been in NA since March on Xbox and this has not been addressed. It gives me very little hope if basic necessities/QoL like these suggestions have not been implemented yet.

@Xrider24 I won't lie, it really does have one of the worse Alliance/Clan management systems. I Wouldn't even say it has the bare necessities. A lot of people enjoy the clan/alliance play style and like feeling like something together. Though it is the first time I had to implement a discord channel just to manage and keep everyone informed and together.

Sadly, I don't think anything will happen with the ALLIANCES to make them feel any better considering how pointless they feel. It really sucks when you care for your members and are severely handicap by the game. Mostly the basics.

One of the worst guild system I have ever seen in a mmo tbh, theres like 0 point of even joining a guild.

Photon Tree Buffs can include Item Drop Rate, but that's the most expensive buff to upgrade on the tree. (For obvious reasons.)

Yeah, tree buffs are basically the motivation. There's the Alliance Points shop too, I guess.

Alliances in PSO2 are just a fun little side feature, it was never intended to be competitive or something you have to spend a lot of time managing. If you have a group of people who like to play together, great, make a Team and enjoy a dedicated chat channel in-game and maybe get some tree buffs or something. If people don't log in for a while or don't get many points, ehhh, who cares.

I guess teams/guilds/clans/whatevers are more of a thing in other games of this style, but that's not really how PSO2 was designed.

@coldreactive I have a tree and never use the buffs lol its not needed at all same with parties.
