Rant

Frankly making this because tired and frustrated as the absolute dumpster fire the PC launch has been, and seeing some of the posts, just wanting to get things off my chest.

First of all, all the people moaning about there not being enough new content, how about being quiet and letting them sort out this the whole they dug for themselves first. PC players were constantly berated and called entitled when asking for any info on the PC release and about wanting there to be a PC beta (gee wouldn't that have been a good idea). well guess what the ones that are coming off as entitled are you all that are moaning about there not being enough new content, WHEN A WHOLE PLATFORM for the game is having issues even getting the thing installed in the first place. So you know what, its its PC players turn to tell you all complaining about lack of content to sit back, shut up, and let them work on this issue before moaning about something that will come with time no matter what.

We were constantly kept in the dark about details because of this absurd exclusivity period that is only succeeding in sabotaging themselves and the launch of the game and now all that sucking up to Xbox and ignoring PC is coming around to bite them in the end. Also, a little side rant, all the Xbox players should be really damn grateful they even did the launch for Xbox the way they did, cause every beta i have been a part of for an MMO included a FULL server reset before the soft open beta or official launch. I have tried to stay positive and see both sides point of view before i complain on things but this has just worn my patience so damn thin. They mishandled this whole launch in so many ways its like they wanted this fail. I know the GMs hands are tied, but they could have been more transparent and pushed harder about relaying the community concerns to the Devs, cause guess what, a majority of those concerns just them all square in the face for this launch.

Thats all i got to say on it, there isn't a good place to rant, so here it is. Needed to vent some frustration because of just how baffling the decisions around the PC launch have been.

There's more than enough content now. The update shadowdropped a bunch of it with new weapons, bosses and photon arts. I really wish the PC launch would get better already. It's a complete dumpster fire and the reviews on the store are already down the toilet. Here's hoping if whoever is in charge with this crap can salvage this

After seeing like 70 threads like this one, I'm kinda over it. Im sure the GM's whose trying to solve everything despite the little power they have get the point, thanks.

Everything you said is why I BLAME SEGA. No Beta. Poor Choice of Storefront(Everyone on PC knew MS Store was garbage INCLUDING SEGA WHICH IS WHY TOTAL WAR IS ON STEAM!!).

SEGA has been developing on PC way too long to have made such poor decisions. They put the "Bag" 1st and now people who have been waiting almot a decade are suffering for it. They just should have gone through Steam. Too concerned about Steams cut of the AC money instead of putting out a working product. Ironically, NOT BEING ON STEAM IS COSTING THEM MONEY.

@Lwyu They made mistakes and need to be called out on it in a blunt a fashion as possible loud enough for the GMs to pass it onto the Devs so they know this is not ok in the slightest. Have to draw that line in the sand pretty obviously or they will just do similar things in the future.

So far as an Xbox player I have only two gripes about the PC release.

One, it is way too damn crowded now. After the game finished updating I go to log in and EVERY ship currently open read "Overcrowded" or something like that in big, bold, red letters. Took multiple attempts just to log in. If I went to my personal quarters, alliance quarters, or even the cafe or casino, and then tried going back to the shopping or gate areas I'd either get sent back into that room with a "too full" error or booted back to the login screen. I tried using the block transporter to find a less crowded server but no dice. Even most of the premium blocks (which I don't have access to but I checked 'em anyway) were displaying "full."

And two...sooooo many freakin' SAs. There was a concert event, they even triggered an encore performance. Couldn't tell you a dang thing about either song other than it being Quina because BOTH songs were completely drowned out by all the clanging, pinging, boinging, clanging, chiming, cacophonous racket, and the screen was obscured with dozens of pointless memes, many of them borderline lewd racist, several of them being spammed repeatedly to keep the image on screen the entire time (and blocking those SAs just left an empty box obscuring the screen), after each song there were several spamming "encore" and nearly as many spamming "shut the f* up," "go away," "we want Miku," or just making generally inappropriate comments about Quina and/or other players' and/or their characters. And all I could think was "yep...the PC players are here alright. There goes the friggin' neighborhood...." So honestly, all those PC players begging for their own ships away from us Xbox players, I fully support that. At least until ya'll achieve some semblance of maturity because quite frankly it was a disgusting display. You actually made me miss Destiny and it's meme-worthy quality of being arguably THE most "anti-social" social game ever made because the most any of these infantile dipsticks could do is silently emote or "crouch aggressively" (a.k.a. "t-bag," arguably the surest sign there's no intelligent life to be found).

So, yea. "Yay for more players" but at the same time very much prefer quality over quantity. I'd rather only be able to find 2 other players in the lobby but they're respectful, laid-back, and good-humored than to be so overcrowded I can barely move from one area to the next with all the latency/lag and seemingly every single one of them is a self-important jackenape who thinks the game was built entirely for him/her and the rest of us are just here to be meme-fodder or trolling target practice.

@zaffy2005 couple of things with what you said. For the overcrowding issue, that would have been an easily avoidable issue, IF they had actually stopped and considered the PC player base for even a moment instead of just sucking up to the Xbox crowd the entire beta period. and for the symbol arts, before you go blaming it all on the PC players, consider for a moment that those bad actors could just as easily be Xbox players that have already been around in game, but just making use of the tools PC has to be able to more quickly create symbol arts for that sort of thing if they could get the pc version working. So don't just lump all the PC players together when the Xbox crowd has been plenty toxic in the past (see any thread or twitter post comments where even the slightest hint of someone asking about PC details came up).

Halo and k.i to big games for Microsoft they aren't limited to the damn store but to steam. Microsoft store screw PC players and it is a dumb. Put it on steam Microsoft all you had to do instead of supporting a broken system you acknowledged was bad 5 years ago.

I get that but you guys are quite literally yelling at the wrong people, I had to defend our GM's all day, theyre just messengers they cant do anything but relay the issues, and they were bombarded. Kudos to you guys @GM-Deynger . I get where youre coming from though Ryn, we are all affected by this.

Oh we know that, the GMs, as designated messengers, must carry back the full meaning of mess up the launch was thanks to Microsoft Store. So we do give them a sample to be sent 🙂

And just so you know, it's not only a "I can't play" issue, but a "I LOST MY HARD DRIVE" issue too.

Oh, and when the game finally decided to uninstall itself, 220GB of 3 copies of broken clients, it also killed my PSO2 JP files 🐶

@RynMuse Oh, I know Xbox players can be "toxic AF," too. I've played Halo. I've spent hours being spawn-camped in Grifball by players who feel that padding their stats is all that matters and don't give a damn that they ruin the game for everyone else.

The whole "console vs PC" thing has been going on for decades and quite frankly....it's stupid. Actually stupid isn't the word I would use but people get very touchy about a certain word starting with "R" and rhyming with "we farted." But that's what it is. People like what they like, or simply make the best of what they have/can afford. It's idiotic to freak out over it.

But I pinned the blame for all that idiocy squarely on PC players because I've been playing this game a while now with just Xbox players and have never seen such behavior. And it's not so simple a matter as "offensive SAs weren't available before PC was given access" because believe me, they were. Got a block list at least a hundred items long for lewd/offensive SAs players were using as Shop banners. The crap was there, we just weren't flinging it around like caged monkeys.

And part of that may simply be that PC players are use to a very different set of rules than Xbox players. For PC, it's "whatever the dev says is ok, goes." For Xbox, Microsoft/LIVE's Code of Conduct trumps what any developer might allow. The stuff PC players do on a daily basis and think is cruise-control for coolness, Xbox players get banhammered into oblivion for. So, given that disparity, I'm sure you can understand why I would conclude that PC players are the sole culprits of such behavior. Xbox players, by choice or by force, are much more "civilized" in that regard. There are still plenty among us who will troll the heck out of you, but for the most part we keep it clean.

Just because YOU didn't see doesn't mean it wasn't there.

@AyAyyRon Quite so, and that's true of a lot of things, unfortunately. But I'm not one who blindly believes in coincidence, either. Several weeks of playing, never seen anything even remotely like it. Very first night PC players are thrown in the mix, everything goes from 0 to bury the needle in a matter of seconds. Ok, maybe not exactly "zero" but the point remains.

But, maybe the less savory elements of the xbox community just don't log on the same time I do.
