How many people managed to actually play the PC version thus far?

I'm still contending with the slow drip download speed from the Microsoft store. Imagine having 500Mbps download speed (should be 900Mbps but let's not get into that) only to dowload at DSL speed.

I have and I had no issues whatsoever with the download from Microsoft Store, updating of the patcher, patching the game, or launching. The only thing I'm sure that I have done with my system that not everyone does is make the WindowsApps and ModifiableWindowsApps Folder in Program Files owned by Administrators, I use a Microsoft Account to log-in to the computer using a PIN, my account is an Administrator account on the computer, and I kept all of the Xbox apps on the computer, even though I don't own one. I also started the download immediately after it went up on Microsoft Store and loaded the patcher. That was before the servers started getting overloaded, which is likely what is causing a lot of the current problems with the PC version for people

Everything is fine for me

That's another PB with the MS store, I can't believe that MS has not enough capability to support the DL Surge of the first day of availability.

The real question is why Sony did this abysmall choice of MS Store instead of Steam to distribuge PSO2 ...

Anyway, given the number of complaints I see on the MS store evaluation page for the game, there are at least 550 people unable to DL/launch the game...

I'm enjoying no lag on my end for PC in ship 2. The only lag I receive is when I pick up quests in the Gate area as there seems to be the entire population sitting right there. It's weird how Rebecca is so popular when there are other quest counters in frankas and the casino.

But it's not my problem.

I got to play for 2 hours before the Microsoft store corrupted the app-based launcher when I closed it, now redownloading at a little over 50%

@Silushun I have done the first part of your tip already. All of my download types are set to automatically download to my D drive, but I do not get any error messages. Would you think renaming that folder would make any difference in the Windows Store recognizing my D drive for installation?

Edit: I tried changing the name of that folder and was denied access to even view it.

@Invexus Yeah I'm denied access to my Folder aswell, but it seems to have worked for me. Downloading as we speak. Ermm..

Working perfectly here, played about 5 hours today.

You mean Sega? Sony doesn't own Phantasy Star.

I got to play this morning, went to work, now the game won't launch. Fantastic.

I don't even have the space to install it. Microsoft Store said 11GB. Okay, so I have the space. Turns out it requires 80GB and the 11GB is just the initial install. WTF? I don't even have the space for that on any drive (I'd have to get an external just for that). Why is this game so large??? Even the JP version lists 67GB as the min. (not much better, but that's 13GB difference!)…

I wish they had just launched the cloud & Nintendo Switch versions… Cloud version requires 100MB, not 80+ GB. Been waiting for this game for years, and now I can't play it because it takes up more than a full OS install 8x over.

It also does something f***y with how it stores files. Is it in mutable apps? Or Windows Apps? Either way, don't try compressing/compacting the folders where it resides, else it will duplicate the entire install twice over. This would also explain why people are having trouble uninstalling it because the uninstall seems to just trash a symbolic link of sorts, and not the actual program files?

This launch has been soooo bad. If it weren't for the requirement to pay for XBLG on the XBOX (wtf?) I'd just play it there.

Please, SEGA, just give us the cloud version already, and give us a standalone installer. The Microsoft Store is fine when games are designed for it, or are containerized, but this is neither, and it clearly isn't playing well with anyone's systems. A friend of mine can't even install it (the store just returns an error code)… 🙃

@Vexxie13 Same with me, now I can't even download to the latest version. Keeps failing.

Yeah my bad 🙂

So far I'm on my second attempt to DL on another PC (the first one I tried gave me the installation error). But of course if this crappy MS Store erase previous installs, it is not suprising that the servers are lagging...

Anyway thanks for the heads-up about the total space required, I will have to make som room on my 😧 Drive...

The game is probably being mass downloaded, and ran like crazy. They need to adjust to handle this issue but for now patience.
