Regarding the character height restrictions

@SoppierHades8 wow you sexualize childern in bathing suits? you sick perv! only a perv would think about a child in an outfit like gym shorts or a bathing suit as being something sexual!

Its easy to jump to conclusions, lets not okay?

@Novaline I'm just saying it would be difficult to enforce is all. I appreciate you sharing you opinions on the matter. However, It's fairly clear that not everyone has moved on as some people are still wanting to discuss this on this and other threads.

I was a little sad to hear the height would be restricted as well. I want to make my character to look like futaba akane like my picture but I'll make it work either way. People will have skimpy and lewd characters regardless, the minority that have 4 foot or 5 foot lewd character shouldn't ruin the immersion for everyone :<

@Swim i mean if midgets float your boat right? why not?

@SoppierHades8 It's not odd at all to me. I just want a shorter character and this change makes it so I can't. Stop insinuating that people like me are sexualizing children. It's beyond ignorant to assume so. My character I made on the JP character creator while waiting for the NA PC launch doesn't even look like a kid and they are the shortest possible combination I could make. I just like making short characters.

@Wiibu they just dont know the super power that is a smaller hit box you get as playing oddjob in golden eye since hes so tiny!

ProTIP short characters are harder to kill!

@Lord-Papers Haha. The N64 led to so many great memories. I have a ton of nostalgia for that console.

Like I keep saying, and you keep failing to grasp the concept that just because YOU want to have children avatars "because you like it", others will create children avatars because they are perverts. It is the reason WHY Sega/Microsoft have put limitations on, and as someone posted above, it is the LAW. If you have a problem with the law authorities making it illegal to have sexualised children avatars in games, drawings, cartoons, then you need to raise this with them directly. Coming here to do it, is a little strange.

The reason you won't do that, is because it will put you on a list.

Move on. End of discussion

@Swim Yeah, I completely agree with you. having a tiny character with a massive weapon destroying a ton of enemies is always hilarious to me. This change limits a ton a people from creating a character they want while doing nothing to fix the perceived issue.

@SoppierHades8 I mean, people already have younger looking characters in the game that are in skimpy clothing, so your argument doesn't hold up. If they really wanted to prevent this, the height restriction does nothing.

Yeah, but let's not go down the route of having them looking 10 years old please.

Your argument is raising red flags tbh.

@Novaline Yikes, I'm not supporting a nsfw mod for them. People that do that are creepy. I'm just pointing out that female Lalafells can look like kids and can wear skimpy outfits.

So that is your reasoning for PSO to follow the same suite as FF? Sorry, but this entire thread is creepy as hell. You are literally going out of your way to say that you want to create childlike girls in a game that heavily revolves around skimpy outfits. Do not sexualise children, and I don't want to see childlike characters roaming around wearing bikinis - it is disgusting.

Whether your intentions are innocent or not, other people's wont be and i certainly do not want to see them. I'm here for the gameplay, not a sick fetish

FYI this take is always a flawed argument, IE the "why do you even want such a thing in the game, are you a pedophile?" argument.

To make this argument you essentially need to rope in the entire development team of the game who allowed the game to be designed in a way that it allowed the original height restrictions, because after all they designed it that way in the first place.

People like Wiibu just want the game to remain unchanged, even if it's something as arbitrary as height restrictions.

And for the millionth time across the internet, anime lolis are not children. They aren't real.

@Zipzo laws say other wise about the anime lolis buddy, art depicting underage or what apears to be underage sexual acts or lewd or obscene images is still child porn.

The PROTECT Act In 2003, Congress found that law enforcement agencies had difficulty in prosecuting cases where computer-generated depictions of children were indistinguishable from depictions of real children. Other cases involved using parts of images of real children to create a composite image that was unidentifiable as a particular child and in a way that prevented even an expert from concluding that parts of images of real children were used. Some cases even involved the disguising of pictures of real children being abused by making the image look computer generated.

As a result, Congress passed the “Prosecutorial Remedies and Other Tools to end the Exploitation of Children Today” (PROTECT) Act. This law prohibits the production, distribution, or possession of a visual depiction of any kind – including an animated motion picture, drawing, cartoon, sculpture or painting – that depicts a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct that lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

Why is the First Amendment Not a Defense? The Supreme Court previously ruled that a law banning any depiction of simulated sexual activity by a minor was too broad (Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition, 535 U.S. 234 (2002)). The PROTECT Act was passed as a response to this ruling.

For this reason, a key word in the PROTECT Act is the word, “obscene.” The Supreme Court ruled in 1973 that the First Amendment protection for freedom of speech does not apply to “obscene” material (Miller v. California, 413 U.S. 15 (1973)). Using the word “obscene” in the PROTECT Act eliminated any concern that the law would be considered a violation of First Amendment rights.

America is not the only country on the planet.

@SoppierHades8 the issue is a character half a foot shorter does not make them a child, nor is anything in this game considered obscene by law. I was just pointing out the misconception anime lolis is legal.

@Zipzo no but it is the one getting this release and with the exception of like three countries, the rest have similar laws now.

@SoppierHades8 Again, stop insulting me. You have continually insinuated that I'm a pedophile for wanting a shorter (note: not younger) and if you keep doing so, I'm going to report you. This thread isn't for irrational arguments or for insulting others.
